View Full Version : I feel overwhelmed already... need some advice
Hi everyone,
I really need some reassurance right now. i have just found out that i am expecting twins. i am 11 weeks pregnant, have a 13 month old an 11 year old and a step daughter we see every other weekend and half the school holidays. i just dont know how on earth i am going to cope.
i want to know if there are any tips i can pick up as to how to cope.
Thanks ladies,
Keep calm because stress is no good to you or your babies.
No one expects you to be wonderwoman so take it slowly. By the time your twins are born you will have set your own little routines up and be much more able to handle things. I think it is all so overwhelming in the beginning but things will just click for you. Have faith in yourself and don't beat yourself up over the little things.

Hi, just take things a day at a time. You will find out what routine works for you and realise it's not as hard as you imagined it would be. Mine just turned 3 and I can't believe the time has gone by so quickly.
I am sure you will cope just fine.. I had twins, they are my 4th&5th. They really arent any harder to care for as babies.. just a little more time consuming though. One thing I done, was I wouldnt bath them everyday. They would get one every second day.. on alternating days.. it was just so time consuming for me to do them both one after the other.. once they could sit though.. they both would go in together.
:hugs: & :smiliedance: Twins!
My one and only tip...accept ALL help when offered and ask for help when you need it! Don't try to struggle through on your own if people are happy to give you a hand...even if it's just to hang out / fold up a couple of loads of washing during their coffee visit, vaccuum your floor, etc.
And be gentle with yourself :hugs:
Thanks guys, the shock has worn off now and i am just VERY VERY excited!!!!!! TWINS!!!! How special!!!! I get all teary just thinking about it now (in a good way!!)

Good for you Lildarlhoneyboy!! I knew you would punch through the barrier - I didn't post earlier cos I only have the twins and you are facing a whole different set of problems to me, but I know you'll just LOVE having twins 95% of the time anyway...
Yeah, i think we just needed to start making plans for the future.
We are moving to a lovely house in a pretty place that is bigger and nicer, we are getting a new car (say goodbye to batchelor car Mazda 6 hubby!!!) And i am putting money aside from the baby bonus so that we can get a cleaner every week for 6 months!!!!
I love making things, and so i am going to make four baby hammocks which i am getting really excited about (Gives me something to do! ) I just feel like i can and will cope.
I think also the responce from family and friends was a bit difficult for my hubby and i, but then his mum, my MIL was so excited she started crying!!!!!
I keep looking at my boys Aidan 12, and ewan 13months and i just think about how much i love them and i know i am a great mummy. (Aidan tells me, his friends, my friends all the time!!!)
We will be so fine.
Thanks so much for the kind words ladies, I am glad i have such a wonderful pool of resources in you all!

Sheesh! That was one of the most lovely posts! You absolutely will be wonderful.
And bless your MIL for her reaction. Sometimes it is just nice when someone is just unbelievably happy for you, even when you don't know if you are happy for yourself yet, hey?
You go girl!
So how are you feeling with the preg?
