when i was being induced with dd3 this one midwife was saying i was impaitent, and that i was just cheating:eek:

i was being induced because of possible problems with the placenta failing after the subchorionic hematoma:(

i was so angry, she was so rude...she said i cheated with my other dd's too.....dd1 was 11 days over dd2 was 9 days over......im sorry but i dont consider induction cheating, and not when theirs a risk to the baby.

it still makes me mad:banghead:

yes, well we all know the midwives are little rays of sunshine now don't we?

Not sure how it qualifies as cheating, unless giving birth is a race?

If so, did you win LOL.

That is just so rude! :shame: There were health reasons for you being induced - so of course you weren't cheating!

I hate to think what she would have said about me then - i was booked for a c-section at 37weeks due to toxemia - that must have been a massive cheat (DD ended up coming early all by herself the week before that though!)

Sounds like she is cheating the midwifery profession by being part of it!

Pay no attention to her bronny-jane, it was better for you and Zoe to be safe than sorry - if that was the medical evaluation you had been given, you were best to follow it.

Give her a big cyber-slap, and walk away!

I was told that too
I said well do you have children? She told me she didn't I told her when you maternity clothes are so tight and you can't find anything to wear your skin on your feet hurts from the pressure, you have been in pre-labour for 3 weeks and are overdue...get back to me

I think it depends what she meant by 'cheating' (though it does sound like she was rude to you!). I don't agree with induction because people are impatient, or because perfectly healthy mothers with perfectly healthy babies are 'past their due date', but if there is a good medical reason for induction, then I don't know how that can be cheating?

Did the middie have kids??
I'm sorry but whether you are induced or not you still have to push the baby out don't you!!?? and if there is a health risk for mother or baby then as far as I am concerned it isn't cheating.... its extremely important!!
What a horrible middie!!

im not sure if she had kids, she was in her late 30's.
she was rude the whole time to me, i've always had great experiances with midwives so it was a bit of a shock:eek:

 Cheating?
Hmmm isn't induction supposed to be harder than spontaneous labour????? If so then how were you "cheating". Dont let !d!iots like this get to you BJ. I would have been tempted to slap her too!

It's m/w like this who give the proffession a bad reputation and sounds like she needs to remember that she only has "midwife" attacthed to the end of her title- NOT DR. Sometimes i think some m/w think they are more qualified tha the OB or Dr.:banghead:

Well if induction is cheating, then I've cheated every single time. Shame on me.

How pathetic! You have to wonder why some people choose to be in the "care" professions?

Cheating? Well I was induced at 14 days over, if I hadn't cheated he would probably still be in there.

Cheating?! What a joke. Here I am, just having read all about how induced labours are usually hell on earth compared to a natural, spontaneous labour- far out, my own personal experiences are a prime example!

What a cow!! Giving birth is not a race and if there was possible problems who cares what the moo says! She OBVIOUSLY hasn't been pregnant before. There's always that one midwife isn't there

well I don't know about cheating but I know I didn't really want one with either of mine but needed them to re-start my stalled labours :(

OMG - What would even possess anyone to say that, let alone THINK that - what a weirdo... and a midwife  omg!
How pathetic. Don't ever listen to midwives with silly opinions like that!

Honestly, Im shocked!!! Ive had both an induction and a 'natural' labour. My god, the natural was a heck of a lot easier!!! In no way is getting an induction cheating - especially when its for medical reasons!
