My 7mth old has been on formula for a while now and, I've been giving her Karicare2 but only because I can buy it so cheap - $12.00.
Dumb old me has actully waited till now to see if this is in fact a good formula or not, or is it just the cheapest?

we used s26 gold at first because thats what they put DS on in the hospital and when i went to go buy the formula for the first few months, i never actually looked at the prices of the other formulas, i assumed same product same price.
but then at about 6 months i actually stopped and looked and did i have the shock of my life. big difference from $23 to $13. i hate to imagine how much money we wasted, coz big boy DS was having lots of bottles and we'd be going through 2-3 tins a week.
so from then i switched over to heinz, not gold, just the regular one.
so 11 month old DS uses heinz nuture follow on from 6 months. the tin has a giraffe with a red lid.
when i go to hospital with this baby, i'm takin my own formula. i plan to breastfeed but if it happens that way that i cant, i'm not gonna use s26 then have to try and switch him/her over.

Hey there,
My DS was on S26 Gold in hospital and he was very refluxy... I changed to Karicare Anti Reflux thickened formula and it cleared the reflux up. He's now 13 weeks and I have decided to try the Heinz Nuture 1 and he's been going well for the last 2 weeks. Apparently reflux can clear after 3 mths when the stomach lining appears. I am saving $13 per tin. I would recommend the Heinz. It's a great formula and the baby is well fed. It's up to u and how ur baby reacts to the different formulas. Keep in mind that the first 2-3 days of changing a formula will result in a bad tummy ache..

My bub is on S26 AlphaPro and is almost 5 months old. I've managed to find it for $17.95 at our local discount chemist.
I am currently using the Karicare Sensicare formula as that is the one that they had in the hospital... we were told it is good for bubs that have things like asthma and ezcema rampid in the family... so we stuck with it as both me and Jas have asthma and my family is ridiled with asthma and my sis had bad ezcema as a baby... the down side is though that you can only use that formula until bubs is six months old.... It is only $17 a tin.... but at the moment we are going through a tin and a bit a week.... however he is due for his 6 month growth spurt.... so who knows how many we will go through now!! lol
