Hey :)

Hope I can help???!

Devon- will always make me think of the luncheon meat... sorry..

Elliott - is lovely... but he may get ET comments... especially if the movie is
revamped... :o

Payton - Its different ... but I like it -

Ryan- this would be my favourite... but other people will disagree.. cause I love the familiar names... I think it is cute for a little boy- but it also works for a man :)

Payton sounds like a girls name, I can't get past that old TV soap - Peyton Place. Also - rhymes with Lleyton - ick.

And ditto what everone else said - Devon is beef luncheon, or polony as they call it in WA.

Ryan is OK, but Elliot is the nicest.

I just love Elliot it just sounds so cute for a bub and spunky for a man. It is the name I would like for my number 2 son who is due in Feb except my BIL name is Alistair so both him and bub would get Ali or elli which would be annoying cause BIL is a bit (bit meaning lot) weird.

I agree with the others Devon is a cheap yucky lunchmeat or maybe a new charactor on Bold and the Beautiful

Payton is a girls name remember the hand that rocks the cradle her name was Payton ..............ewwwww creepy chick

Ryans nice but Elliot is really really really nice.

If anyone can think of a different shortening to Elliot I would love to hear it Id still love to use that name :D

Has anyone ever seen the movie The Sure Thing with John Cusack and Daphne Zuniga (Melrose Place)?

In it he and Daphne are from the same college and are hitch hiking across the USA to get to LA. They are total opposites, she's prim and works to a schedule and he is a partying college boy. At one point they stuff her jumper to make her look pregnant to get a ride. A nice old lady picks them up and asks what they are going to name the baby. The girl says, "If its a girl Cynthia and if it's a boy, Elliot". The lady comments they are lovely names.

Meanwhile John Cusack is in the back seat with a disgusted look on his face. "Elliott? Elliott? We are NOT calling the kid Elliott. Elliott is a fat kid woth glasses who eats paste. No we are definitely not calling the kid Elliott. The kid needs a real name - a name like Nick. Yeah, Nick's your buddy, Nick's your mate, Nick's the guy you drink beers with, the kind of guy who doesn't mind if you puke in the backseat of his car".

Anyway, this movie is a cult classic in our family and it was decided that the first born boy of all the siblings would have to name their's Nick. And yes, 10 years ago my sister had a boy and his name is NICHOLAS! Sounds weird, but it is a very cool name and we love this movie. Elliott on the other hand I can 't warm to for some reason........

Remember on Young Talent Time there was a boy called Devon. He had this Joker-face smile plastered on this face ALL THE TIME and it was kind of disturbing. Anyway, Johnny D was the real star at the time.

Payton may get 'paid out' for his name?

Ryan yes!

I was going to use Payton as a middle name for my last son, As all my children middle name starts with the letter P. Needless to say it's not thought we ended up using Prescott ( a Family name)

I like Ryan the best. Elliot reminds me of Elliot Goblet (http://www.elliotgoblet.com.au/) . Devon reminds me of fritz and Peyton, patent pending.

mollyandkurts mum you are absolutely right it was Bevan, not Devon.

They both sound the same though so I always thought it was a rather unusual name. It reminds me of devon and tomato sauce sandwhiches for lunch as a child - which I loathed.
