Hi
Just wondering how christmas will be at your place this year.
How over the top or just normal?
This is our first Christmas with little one/as a family and I think because he will only be just over 3 months old we will do what we normally do.
Not too over the top but definately make a bit more effort than usual.
I went and bought him his first christmas t-shirt and santa hat, his own christmas stocking and im looking for a really special first christmas keepsake.
We will buy a couple of things and put them in his stocking from 'santa' even if he doesnt know and then a couple of pressies under the tree from us. I think he will get more enjoyment out of the paper than anything!
Whats everyone else doing??
Cheers

i am stressing about what to buy. what do you buy a 1 year old (he will turn 1 four days before xmas) for xmas?? or for his birthday for that matter...
i really dont know what we are doing this year. especially since this year is the first year we are spending xmas morning in our own place with our own tree and we have to buy xmas pressies for our extended families from our family iygwim.

DD will only be 4 months at Christmas so I'm not going overboad this year - next year will probably be a different story tho!
I've got her a santa sack, and will wrap a few toys for her to play with the paper, but I'm expecting her to prefer a breastfeed to a present this year ;)
We're having a special Christmas as our past holidays have been rough. My family history with holidays is very dramatic and depressing.
Two years ago on Sunday I came over from the US, and my housemate invited my husband and I over to his family in Mt. Gambier so I wouldn't be too homesick, but it was kind of awkward. Last year it was just me and DH having a quiet day alone, as we were saving money for our wedding, the trip back to the US and the bub.
This year, I'm FINALLY getting to the beach on Christmas like I've wanted to for maybe 10 years. We're going to spend it with my MIL (she lives in South West Rocks) and just enjoy the family aspect of it.
We bought most of Ben's gifts before he was born at the stock take sales, on is a little play table that will work now and when he's standing and the like. We'll probably buy an activity thing - like an exersaucer? I want to take DH to see it this week. lol They are things we'd buy for him anyway at this point age-wise, so it works out well. :D
Oh and we took him to see Santa for pictures. Over priced, in my opinion, but it makes me smile to see it, so it's all good.

We've tried to keep it low keyish but also set a precedent for future christmas'. We have had our Santa photo taken and we have a Santa sack and we all have a christmas ball with our year of birth on it (our christmas tree is partially also a family tree as we also keep the names of those who have passed on the tree with their births and deaths so we talk about them at Christmas) All up we have probably spent about $150 on his for christmas but we have bought things he isnt quiet ready for yet on purpose. We have bought him a bounce and spin Zebra (I hunted high and low before finding one!) and I heard Santa was giving him a glow worm and a tummy time playgym because Santa knows how he hates tummy time so hes trying to make it more fun! I know our families wont be OT they tried to tell us not to buy Santa or really anything for Christmas as he wont know.... so I ignored them and did want I wanted to anyhow :D Maybe they will give up trying if I keep this up lol
