Hi Girls,

Just wondering if any of you have had BFP with clear blue and they were actually evaporation lines ??? I'm not sure if you've read my other thread (ANY THOUGHTS???) but basically i got quite a strong BFP with a clear blue test last week and since then after doing a "few" more have only had one or two VERY faint positives .....and some BFN .however AF isn't due to a week today so i know i'm testing way too early but keep having funny cramps. anyway the point of this post is this afternoon i did a clear blue and nothing came up straight away but then 4 mins later a very faint line did. when i called the helpline number the women told me quite firmly that evaporation lines were a bit of a myth!! so just wondering if anyone else has had any experience with clear blue and evaporation lines?? sorry to ramble on and hope this makes sense!

evapoaration lines usually only come on after 10 minutes I think. Hard to say about your results though at this stage as you are testing so early. If there is a second line it means it is positive, it only comes up (within the time frame) if it detects HCG. But unfortunately it is common for quite a large percentage of fertilized eggs not implanting (so early miscarriage) even before we even suspect we are pregnant. So, by testing early, you may have what is called a 'chemical pregnancy', or you may indeed be truly pregnant, my best advice would be to wait (as hard as that is) until your period is late, that way you will know for sure.
There's a website called peeonastick.com which has heaps of info there:thumbsup: Hope that helps:o

This site has photos of evap lines etc on diff brands and I pretty sure clear blue has a few on there!
In saying that I have had faint lines on those tests after the required waiting time (10mins I think) and I turned out to be pregnant, so you never know.
Thats the problem with early testing, it can be unreliable!
Have a look:

It sounds promising for you though hun, I got my first BFP on an internet cheapy at 6DPO then for the next 5days I got faint lines and some BFN'son every different brand imaginable. Lines didn't get nice and dark till 12DPO (the day AF was due) when I also got a BFP on clear blue digital test.
So Fingerscrossed for your BFP soon!!

It took me 3 years to fall pg with my new bubba so I think I tried just about every brand out there (I actually would hate to add up just how much I've spent) and I don't think there is a brand of test out there that doesn't have an evaporation line. I've had evaporation lines with Clear Blue Easy.

If you can't see the line clearly without pulling the test apart or holding it under a bright light within the test time limit then it's most likely an evaporation line. I've had positive lines come up after the test expiry time and not really been pregnant too, the ink can 'break through' after the expiry time.

The most sensitive test on the market is Fortel Ultra from Woolies and Coles. I've spoken to the rep from that company and it actually measures 5miu, so it can pick up pregnancy very early. Clear Blue Easy is 10miu from memory so still very sensitive.

I know it's so so hard waiting, good luck!!!
