my lovely cat muffin passed away last night.

she was 7 years old.
it just won't be the same without my furry baby.

i don't know what she died of. and that is difficult. blaming myself and wishing i couldve done something.

she was the most nicest tempered cat and i am so sad my bub will not grow up with her.

we took her for granted and assumed she would grow old with us.

RIP fluffy muffy:crying:

I'm so sorry for the loss of your kitty.

I lost my dog a couple of months ago and it is a really hard time.

Just remember her cuddles if nothing else.:hugs:

Meme - I am so sorry for your loss. It really is like losing a baby. My puss-cat has been with me for years - even before DH so I know how close you get to them.

Sending you lots of :hugs: and I am sure she will be watching over bub from kitty heaven

That is very sad news. My "darling kitty", Gomez, is 9 years old and sometimes I get tears in my eyes just thinking about the fact that he wont be with me forever.
We had to make to decision to put the best dog ever to sleep in August, it was the day before my birthday. When my dh woke me up to say "happy birthday" I burst out crying and said I didn't want a birthday this year.
Pets are so hard!! They can absolutely break our hearts, Mum helped when she told me we gave Vladimir (the dog) a good life, and there are alot more animals that need homes now too, thats why animals have big litters and not just one bub at a time like us.
Dont blame yourself, I know muffin doesn't. Have you read 'the rainbow bridge'? Its a lovely poem about losing our pets.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigour; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Having to put my dog down who I grew up with was the hardest thing I have ever had to do.....I cried for days, and still cry about it now...I am always full of what ifs????

And last year I had to put my galah down who I raised from a baby.......

It is really hard to get through, and something you never really get over...... I thought my dog would be with me for years, and the day before she was really naughty and I told her I hated her, as I was an angry teenager, I still regret it to this day...

But you know deep down there was probbly nothing that you could have done to prevent her passing.....and just think all our lost pets are now playing together happily....

:hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: take care of yourself and dont blame yourself

thankyou all for your kind words and thoughts.

much thanks for the rainbow bridge poem. i am going to share that with my dd who is 10 and has known muffin the longest.

we have had a lovely celebration of her life. we all shared our happy memories and buried her under a magnolia tree.

we each laid flowers.

it doesn't feel real and in a way it's comforting to think that in some way she hasn't really left us. i still feel her around me.

it's so true how much pets become part of your family. it really is a special bond.

meme - :hugs::hugs::hugs: Im so sorry for your loss.

Its so horrible without them around, they become so much a part of your life. But unfortunatley they cant live forever and it is so hard to say goodbye to a friend of so many years. Be strong and just remember how your life was blessed to have shared it with a wonderful creature.

Thoughts are with you.

I offer :hugs: nothing can really be said to ease your loss, I know the feeling, but I found thinking about funny/happy times helped, also talking about muffin with others.

I created my baby an albulm and a family friend created a piece for us to place on the wall.

:hugs: & time will help heal the pain.

Love to you and your family in this time.
