oh Hun big fat bear :hugs: for you.

Now on to this house is it possible for you to somehow make it so that you can't see the holes for example if they are high up the wall get one for the kids to draw you a picture or if they are low to the ground get a book shelf or something similar and cover it up.

Maybe you could get some pretend or fresh flowers every weekend from your local park just to freshen things up

Plus you could do a full change around move the bed rooms around or acctaully move to a completely new bedroom.

This can all be tempery till you have saved like you said.

Sorry if it wasn uch help

the hole is a gap in the floor between the wall and floor its about an inch wide.....we cant even fill the gaps cause the owner is going to renovate the kitchen.

i can have the cash in a month...if i dont go out....

sounds like the dump we lived in before we moved here. I made decision to 'just do it' before DS1 started crawling, there was no way I wanted him crawling around that place

We moved a bit further away from work, paid $20 more a week for a smaller place, but so much better and well worth it

If only I could have chosen my neighbours though

I just wanted to say that asbestos isn't bad, as long as the fibres aren't exposed. A lot of old houses have asbestos in them....only a problem if you go knocking out walls, or they are rotting. Makes it a total PITA to renovate (renovated 2 houses with asbestos) but it's not a risk to your health if it's just in the walls and there is no exposure. Just don't go drilling holes through the walls.

Good luck moving....if you hate the house that much that it depresses you surely not going out for one month is worth it!

:hugs:

I understand completely! After DS was born we moved in with my dad to save on our rent. Even though we were able to save a bit, it wasnt worth it, i became so depressed because the house was awful. Heritage listed, and simply impossible to keep clean.

We moved into our own place a few months ago and it has made the world of differene. DH has commented about how much happier i am.

Good luck with the decision, i really hope it works out for you.:fingerscrossed:

i know what you mean. i have only just got happy with where i live and it has taken some renovations. only possible becoz i rent off my father. sometimes it is worth it to have less money and a nice house, but you need to weigh it up well.

well i did a bit of checking about asbestos and see i just need to give the walls a paint to be safer...plus my dd's have coloured in on them:eek: , and im going to seal the floor up, then bomb, then put out baits...the ones that inhibit growth:D hopefully that works.

dh has a meeting on friday at work.....this might sound bad, but if he loses his job we might move to WA to the wine regions over there........where he works is up for sale , fosters bought it - rosemount wines- but put it up for sale.....so maybe their closing it down or they have sold it? find out on friday

Make sure you where a mask when painting incase there are loose fibres. The clothes that you wear, take them off and wash seperately straight away and then shower yourself immediately!

you are renting BJ? If so, talk to your landlord and get them to have an inspector check it out for you.
