The national museum is really fun and it is free parking and air con.
Botanic Gardens are great but have to pay for parking but free entry and lots of mum and kids about.
Questacon is fun and exciting not sure what the entry price is but is super cool for little ones.
The National Zoo is great but a little exy but good for a treat.
There is a Canberrakids webstie with a whats on sections too. http://www.canberrakids.com.au/ ,they list fetes and other events.
There are some great parks in Gungahlin and at Black mountain peninsula.
Lake Burley Griffin is great too, lots of lovely walks.

Hi Ashi,
What about playgroups and mother's clubs- they are free and a great chance for you and your daughter to connect and play with other families.
This link will take you to WIRC (women's information and resourse centre). There are phone numbers there for the ACT playgroups association who can direct you to your local playgroups, as well as the One Parent Support association, which has a kids club for sole parents.

I'll be in the same boat from the end of Jan next year- so let me know how it all goes.
Good luck
