Well as of today, peter has been screaming everytime he does a wee and grabs down at his willy and is in a lot of pain.

We bathed him just before and his little penis is all red and swollen and looks like theres a bit of pus (sorry tmi)..

Have any of your children had Urinary tract infection and if so were the symptons like what peter has??

I have an appointment booked tomorrow after i finish work for five, but mum said she'll see if she can take him down earlier.

Ive been putting antiseptic cream on it to try kill any infection and i will be dosing him up on some panandol but i dont know what else i can do.

Plus this heat doesnt help as he's drinking alot more, therefor weeing more :(

I hate seeing him suffer in pain my poor baby!!:crying:

aww the poor little man :(

I'm not exactly sure if it is a UTI from what you've described. My daughter had it well over a year ago so i'm not sure how different is it for a boy. The only thing i can think of other then his wee burning is that do you think his urine smells alot stronger lately ? Thats usually a very good sign of a UTI.

Give him plenty of water to flush it out aswell.

Goodluck and i hope Peter gets better soon :hugs:

Omg, poor little man!!!

Do you have an after-hours GP you can go to?

If it were me, I wouldn't want to have to wait any longer to see a doctor!

Awww Nat thats so not good for little Peter. Im not really sure about the urinary infection, but i think the fact that its weeping and your putting cream on there to help that is a good thing. Id probably take your mum up on the offer and get her to take him earlier than 5. only because its another day of pain for him.

Big hugs to him from us and one for his special mummy Hehe. :hugs:

Deffinatly get it checked as soon as you can.
My Ds had a UTI when he was 3 weeks old the only symptom he had was he was unsettled.
Crying when he wees and a temp can be a signs of a UTI.
Also i would not put anything on his penis until after you have seen the Dr as it could interfear with the urine test.

hope Peter is feeling better soon

I havent noticed that its a stronger smell no....

We cant get to another doctor till tomorrow unfortunately, but im calling first thing in the morning to see if they have morning appointments available.

I only started putting the cream on as i rang the pharmacist i work with (my boss) to ask what i should do. She said to really clean out his penis and especially under the foreskin, which is impossible mind you as peter wont even let us touch the thing! So she said to put a cream with anisthetic in it just to try and ease the pain abit and kill any infection....

I might not put any more on for now as i put some on after his bath....

I hate seeing them in pain! So awful because i cant do anything...

Hey rell,
Thanks for your message...
Well yesterday morning pete was fine, he was still a bit red around there, and didnt like me touching it at all, but he was weeing fine without crying :D So i cancelled the appointment.
He's been fine thank goodness! He even slept in HIS cot last night which is a great sign he's better ha ha.
Been putting some bactroban on it to kill any infection if there is some...
I think he must of hurt himself somehow, as i had a friend over that day with her little girl, and peter was playing alot with her running etc...and he didnt start the crying etc until a bit before they left, so maybe he fell on it and hurt it?? im not sure.
But it seems to be okay now which im very happy about :D

I'd still go to the appointment, only because, as a UTI sufferer myself, I know they don't always go away, instead move up to the bladder and possibly further to the kidneys which can cause real issues.

I had a UTI go away once for a week... then after that week my bladder would cramp every wee... :(

Especially if there was Pus on it and what not. :/

Well hubby wasnt sure if it was pus or not, plus this morning its not red or sore at all, and the pain lasted no more than 12hours, so i dont think it would be UTI....

He should be fine
