Can anyone recommend a pram for newborn+ that will fit in a hatchback boot without defying the laws of physics? I measured my boot and I'd be looking at something around 60cm, not much wider.

I had a Peg Perego Plikomatic when I had a hatchback, it fitted in well. It was a VW Golf so I think it was a pretty standard size hatchback boot.

I've got a giant 3 wheel Steelcraft this time and it basically takes up the whole 4WD boot.

Your best thing is to take your car to a baby store and just try prams in the boot, people do it all the time.

I use to own a Daihatsu Charade and a regular run of the mill pram fit in it. I had to remove the parcel shelf though. As long as you don't get a 3 wheeler and the pram is not too bulky it should be fine!

My Steelcraft Phoenix fits great in all cars. Ive had it in little Kia Hatchbacks to 4wd's with no trouble. My little miss has been in it from about 2 wks old. It lays back completely as well.

:) Phil & Teds is a 3 wheeler but it would fit I think. We have a Kia Carnival and it has VERY limited bootspace. It fits fine with room left over. The wheels just pop on or off too if you need but I haven't had to.I also put it on the frontseat yesterdy as I had DS bike in the boot and it fitted perfect on the seat.

I was going to suggest the same pram as we have put it into a Mazda 3, Peugot (sp)? and a little hyandai excel.

Carnivals boot space is bigger than a hatch though.
When I owned the Charade, the only thing that fit in the boot was the pram. I have seen the carnivals boot space and with a double pram in it, there is no way you would fit one of those in a hatch!

I would be annoyed if I had to take the wheels off evertime I had to get it back in the car though:thumbsdown:

I've just bough a Phoenix for #2. Fits in my Astra without problems and still leaves room for lots of other stuff.

 The boot space is higher but only about 35-40cm deep so I have to stand it up,As i said I don't take the wheels off but it's just a quick click of one button and then you just push them back on.I did have twin side-by-side and no it doesn't fit in a carnival, that's why we got rid of it and bought the P&T

For the cars I mentioned I have only ever taken 1 wheel off for it to fit and they just snap back on it 2 seconds very easily;)

We have a Jeep 4 wheeler which easily fits in the boot of my mazda 3 hatch BUT I don't recommend it unless you have no option. It has a stupid pull through strap to sit the seat up and it neither sits fully upright nor reclines fully. The little man has pretty much hated it until now (and now prefers a little umbrella stroller).

I have a bertini shuttle and i have to take the wheels off to get into our boot. its just a fact of life with our cars and it has always been the case - so it doesnt bother me.... Like i said - its just life.

the wheels on it are quick release - easy as to take off and put on - so it has never been an issue.

I have an Infa Aspen and it is nearly identical to the Peg Perego Pliko but 1/3 of the price and it comes with a boot cover and a really snug baby insert:thumbsup: and fits perfectly in a hatch back.

I just bought a Roger Armstrong Elfin 2 for $140. It's more a layback stroller but a 3-wheel version with rubber rather than plastic tyres. I checked that it had all the things choice recommended to look for in a pram. It folds one-handed and only weighs 7kg. Might be worth a look if your boot is as small as mine!

don't have a pram suggestion but do think about where the carseat straps will attach. We traded in our old car once we realised the boot would be cut in half by the strap anchoring to the car. We do have to take a wheel off our three wheeler to fit in the current car - no one suggested we try to see if the pram would fit, and we certainly didn't think about it till it was too late.

Make sure you take that car when you go shopping for the pram and try it in the car before you pay for it.
