Happy monday all! Hope had great weekends - looks like it from quick read of posts. Now that link is working again....

Re period - nothing here yet and am fully b/f so maybe thats it.... friend of mine still nothing after 12 months!!!! Being careful tho as apparently still chance of pg... want a bit more of a gap yet!

Zoe I am soooo jealous. Bet it was fantastic. We have same issue with Jake and bottles, glad Evie took one and was an angel for your mum.

MUST MUST MUST go get a JJ for the J-man. Plus want an activity centre.... he's getting really frustrated on the floor, and although i love playing with him it would be nice for him to learn to play on his own a bit more.

And - sleeping better last 2 nights! We resorted to wrapping him again and he dropped off straight away. Maybe going through one of those developmental jumps where they go a bit backward at some things but leap forward elsewhere.....

Had lovely picnic with lots of ex-work mining people y'day. From 2 jobs ago so great to see some haven't seen for ages. Used to work for WMC which was taken over by BHP and lots of friends made redundant - you should see the number of babies!!!!! No job + redundancy money = population growth. Shall we tell Mr Howard??

Well another hot one here today so am off to do some baking before it starts sweltering. Making cupcakes for mums group meet tomorrow. Yum....

Bye all!

Good morning!

Georgie - :hugs: for DH's and family... But as you said she'd be at peace now.

Glad Evie took the bottle Zoe!

Re: AF - yeah - sorta back here. I started G on one FF a night at 6 weeks, got a couple of days of bleeding but nothing until 2 weeks ago (2 weeks after he self weaned) i bled for just under 2 weeks and im onto AF pills again now :( - but i spose 5 months without it - and not soley BF isnt too bad!

Got some huge news!

G isnt far off talking!!!

This morning Jase was in with him settling him - and G was "a a a a" More defined than his "aaaaaaaaa"- like he was trying to get out Da but missing the D. Clever monkey. Guess it must be a benifit of having a :ecomcity: chatterbox mum!

ANyway- im off for a bit!

Heh heh heh - i just had to go check the acronym bit to find out what AF stood for.... :o Very apt!

And Bek - i still say he'll be at uni by the time he's 12.... probably playing basketball too. What a smarty!

Mitchells mummy - have a great time at mums group! I don't go to a mums group, just playgroup. But I went to a mums group with D1 when she was born in 2004, it was great! But it didn't last long, I just think none of us really 'clicked'. Playgroup is great though, made loads of friends there.

Smidgebump - Yes, Pearl Jam was fantastic :D Yep, you MUST go get a JJ. We didnt use it much with older DD, but this time around with Evie we are using it all the time, she jsut loves it.

Bekky- Wow Garrett will be properly babbling soon!!! Evie is just still 'cooing', making those soft noises, no babbling yet. Her sister was a late babbler too, and when she started didnt do much of it anyway! She also was a late talker, wonder if the late babbling is related? Interesting :detective:

 to everyone else!

 So many posts to read again! I love this thread! haha
Would have loved to go to pearl jam!! Hope you had an awsome night.
I started bleeding on and off for a bit but have the implant now so its gone again :D
J has been teething quite badly again for the past few days, no sigh of teeth yet though (not like little G! Good Job!) and the past 2 nights he has woken up but has resettled after a cuddle and sm dose of panadol. Hope he doesnt wake up tonight! I know I should b grateful he has slept through from so little but ive been so tired today! Early to bed tonight I think.
So cute about the babbeling hey! J has recently started saying Dah Dah Dah and Dar Dar, especial while in the bath! haha we got it on video tape the pther night!! when he says them together like Dah Dar it really sounds like Dadda, just babble though I know but cantwait till he can talk!!
Still havent posted in the photo thread yet but definately will...just finding the time  J's sleeping at the moment so maybe when he wakes up. The other bubs all look so cute! Dont you reckon they look even cuter in their nappies!!
Sounds like every1 is slowly coming along in the baby weight loss. I still have 8kgs to loose to be back to pre-baby weight, I put on over 20! Good to hear your pants are fitting ang!! Im not quite there yet...nearly, I keep trying haha.
Went to the gym thgis morning but left early as J was unsettled, those nasty teeth again!
Has anyone got santa photos taken yet? Im such a photo person poor J is so used to the flashes!! Cant wait for the santa photo haha.
First Christmas with our Bubbies...how exciting!!
Anyway off to get some lunch b4 boofhead wakes up!! Sorry I wrote a novel today!

Hey All....

G is a babbler already - but only sometimes with some real sounds. This time he was really trying to get the word out - and mean it instead of just flaping his gums so to speak.

Im thinkin gof going back to my gym this arvo Michelle - just have get off my butt!

Well hope all is well!

mum2peanut
20-11-2006, 19:01
Gym?? What's that. Had a friend who runs fitness classes and she has one that's strollercise. Personally don't think I can be bothered. Lucky for me I'm back to pre-Mackenzie weight so I really don't have the motivation to exercise. But with all the coffee and cake outings I have maybe I should do something ;)
My bro is off the Bali for schoolies on Wed, so we had lunch with him today, lucky him, he's going for 15 days!
Mackenzie had a good day, we were out and about all day, Again! Still no tooth but lots of chewing on her gums and even more dribble, didn't think that was possible.
Michelle- think I'm getting M's santa photo done on Wed before it gets too crowded and noisy, plus I want to use it for my Chrissy Cards.
Georgie- I too was surprised with the amount of cloth nappies, personally I'm too lazy, I don't want or need extra washing. Good on you girls who use them tho.
Dani- Mackenzie still gets wrapped at night, I think that's why she sleeps well. I know a bub the same age as ours who will only sleep when he's wrapped, even during the day. That would suck!
Go G!:ecomcity:

GO litlle H man!!! Hurrah

Told ya that it would all happen at once Ang! That is so great to hear!

G is cutting a second tooth  That will be his two front bottom. Gave him a cold apple chunk to help sooth and bring them out and it actually helped alliittle too much - and his gum started bleeding!

Oh Ang... I'm so happy that H is rolling! But now I think Mitch is the only June bubba left who is still doing NADA NOTHING ZILCH!!!
Oh well, a friend at mum's groups baby is cursing the whole rolling thing coz her little girl managed to roll over to the stereo, turn it on, and give herself a heartattack! Hehehehehehe. She'd better child proof her house soon...

Zoe, glad you got a break hun... good on your DH!!! What a sweetheart.

Bekky, I'm inviting myself to dinner... be over at about 6ish, with DH and Mitch in tow! YUM!!!

It is so HOT in Melbourne today... I dont think Mitch is coping very well, poor little tyke. He's still got a bit of a cold, and has been off his milk too :( . Can you all believe it was snowing in Melb last week, now its 36 degrees!!

Sarah - Not fun at all! :hugs: to you! And your more than welcome for dinner - i can smell it now - gotta love corned meat smell all through the house... mmmmm

Poor Mitchee - I hope he feels better soon!

G is off to sleep for the arvo - poor tike is in a bit of pain with this new tooth. It is very close to the surface - so only a day or so now - and it should be out!

*takes a bow* yeah I dont mind.. Its funny isnt it... Here i was a few short months ago worried about his development because his head control was slow and he wasnt rolling... Now he sits, rolls, almost crawls, almost talks and almost has 2 teeth.... Crazy kid...

Hey Ang- Have you tried sitting Heath up? I sat G in between my legs on the seat one day and he sat confediantly by himself - so i moved him to the floor where he repeated it....

Also - now that he rolls - he will spend more tummy time, and youll find that everything else will just come along naturally.

Sarah - Have you tried putting Mitch on a blanket and rolling him from side to side yourself. We did this early on with G, when he would get onto his back we would make it a big song and dance - and same when he got to his tum. I think it just gave him the idea and how to get it going... He started rolling out of nessicity to reach his toys .... Same with the almost crawling - we help him by moving his legs - plant the seed of development....

Don't forget his skill with the vinyl! Thanks for the tip, we'll give it a go.... I'm taking him to a gymbaroo class tomorrow, so that may help him along too  !!!!!

At a mum's group I went to 2 years ago with my older DD the ECHN' showed us how to do that. The bubs love it and apparently it gets them moving! Give it a go!

Bekky - wow, G has 2 teeth now! I haven't heard of the cold apple before...sounds good, do you freeze it or just refrigerate it? And what way do you cut it, just like a normal crescent shape?

Alegna - :smiliedance: with the rolling everywhere!!!

Congrats for Heath :yelclap: Hell be running aroung b4 you know it! Jayden was the exact same didnt do much then all of a sudden he rolls front/back/side to side, you name it. For the first time ever he did 2 rolls in a row and ended up ages away! Ill lose him one day! haha

Interesting to hear the bubs going to playgroup etc, sorry I think im way behing the times....what is it exactly and can bubs our age go to things like that or is it only really good when they can walk

Yay for G and his 2nd tooth on the way!! How exciting, J is still teething but no sign of anything yet, might have to give him some apple!

For those that are on solids what have you tried bub on so far?? Just curious to see the diff things they are all eating. J has had apple, pear, potato, pumpkin, carrot so far (think thats all) and am tyring rockmelon and broccoli this week. He has also had a few rusks now and will eat a bit but mostly enjoys playing with it and sucking it haha.

Yeh cant wait for santa pics, want to get some done at Harvey Normans but dont think they start untill sat. Has anyone had theres done already (on the gold coast) that coud recomend a good place?
Still havent posted in the phot thread...how slack am I...sorry :(

21-11-2006, 20:53
hey Bek! - yeah he sits alot, that was never an issue it was getting him to lye down on the floor to be able to roll IYKWIM. He sits infront of me & on lounge or with pillow behind him & trys to pull himself up. He's very strong in the legs & does little tippy-toe push ups - up & down etc.

He reaches really well for things & picks thing up. He can also take his dummie out & put it back in again. It was just the rolling thing that was concerning me as everyone kept teling me that was the main milestone to start them off.

G would look so cute sitting up there like King Ferfook!

Thanks girls for your support its great this thread!

Michelle - H has had all that & Have given him aroroot (sp) biccies & um, Mashed Bananna, Pretty much anything we eat now apart from meat. We're not gonna give that to him for another few weeks.

Sarah- they get the kids to do heaps at Gymbaroo, you'll notice advancements after it. The only thing Mackenzie doesn't like, or should I say is terrified of, is the parachute. I don't know why, she love when we play peekaboo with a towel or sheet, but out come the chute and she's scared.
Ang- great to hear Heath's rolling, no more leaving him on the bed for a minute. Don't you think that's it's so exciting that they can put their dummy in and out of their mouths, but then it becomes a pain, cause they pull it out even when they want it.
It was very hot here today also, thank God for AC. Mackenzie doesn't sleep or drink as well when it's hot. Went to Myer shopping night tonight. Got some good bargain Xmas pressies (40% off books). Phil's gone to the airport to pick his dad up so I'm just laying in bed with the laptop, much more comfy than anywhere else.
Michelle - I'm slack too and haven't done the photo yet, I just haven't been home to do it.

Oh wow Mia! Thats sounds great! I wonder if there is one of those around here (GC)

Question: Do BABIES this age dream? Reason being last night H & I were awake for most of it. I haven't been up that much with him since he was like 2-3 weeks old. He slept from like 7-11 then I went in & settled him, I'd put him down & he'd roll on his side to go to sleep (obviously a new thing)....Then I would just here this winpering in the monitor. Not a cry but little wimpiering. I'd go in again & he'd have tears in his eyes but his eyes were SHUT! Very strange. I picked him up & gave him a snuggle but this contunued until I just bit the bullet & got up with him.

Poor little bloke had a shocking night. We we both did I think I squeezed out about 3 hrs sleep!. I have 6 Mums & Bubs coming today too! Oh Joy!

What do u think girls? Any of your little ones down something similar?

Morning ladies and small people! Thought i'd better start including the bubs as Garrett will be reading shortly the way he's going. G-man!

Ang - we had a similar week with Jake sleeping last week. He'd go to bed fine but then start crying... wouldn't resettle but wasn't really awake either, was awful as nothing we did really helped. Was like dreaming awake or sleepwalking (obviously without the walking part!!) He seems better this week but we have resorted to wrapping him again for his night sleeps - not sure if this has helped or if just coincidence but not stopping!!!!!!! Maybe development phase?? (are you sick of that phrase yet?) Esp since it seems to have happened at same time as rolling over..... Jake had a burst of physical developments last week too so just putting 2 and 2 together to get 7...

Michelle - we don't go to playgroup either but we do see quite a lot of mums and bubs through mothers group and they seem to LOVE other babies! I hosted group yesterday - 8 bubs on my floor in 36 degree heat, yikes! and they just had a ball watching each other, smiling and laughing, trying to grab etc. So cute. Will post some photos once i download.

Gotta go little champ awake. Had hardly any sleep yesterday as so so so hot here but much nicer today so hope he makes it up... wishful thinking??

Bye! Have nice day all!
Dani xx

Dani - That made me laugh - the funny thing is - When G is on my lap he does stare intently at the screen as if he was reading, and after that he has a go at the keyboard as if to reply... ahahahahha Mimiking mummy me thinks.

Zoe - The apple is just refrigerated - sso its cold but not hard - and normal shape i did. They say to do it in a washer but G liked it with out it... It just helps the tooth through and they like the taste so they are encouraged to chew more - the bit heaps off tho - there is a tommy tippe thing for it at BIG W i have seen - must lookinto that this weekend.

Sarah - Hahhahaha, Yes - we must not forget the vinyl. My little DJ boy!

Michelle - I have been slack with experiementing - so id like to know too. I was going to do banana last week - but alas - i am too cheap. Poor G wont be starting until i dont have to take out a personal loan to buy them. I did try peach the other day tho - they say its alot like pear for their system. But G's belly played up. I might steam it next time and see if that helps. He is so close to starting more - so i might have to investigate what to do at 6 months...
As for playgroup :( i have a mothers group here. But i havent gone in months. I dont have the car and it appears im too lazy to look into public transport. Ahhh well. Leesh (**** - uhhhh mental blank on hub name - ATD-FAH - think - god - i never call her by her hub name) May be moving down my way soon - so ill catch up with her the most prob. Other than that Son (lambie) and I are good friends- our hubbys have been mates for years, so we catch up all the time... When we can...

Ang - G dreams. he does that whimper. I noticed the first time at 2 months after his needles. In his sleep he screamed that same scream 3 times at the perfect intervals. It was like he was dreaming of the shots... poor little man.
Ang you guys should come up for the bubhub christmas picnic in the park - Please do :) Its on Sunday 3rd december. A family thing... we are going :)

Oh well i best do somethings :)

22-11-2006, 08:20
I forgot about this...

With all the news of Thorpies retirement - they have been saying how big he is... And this has given me an idea...

Why not put G's mammoth size to use - he loves the water - and even just in the bath trys to doggie paddle... maybe he might become a swimmer... hmmmm - Must get a car and get back to swimming lessons!

*~alegna~*
22-11-2006, 08:55
Bek - That picnic sounds great! Would have loved to have gone definately especially to meet you! :D but my birthday is the 4th & David has told me to keep the w/end "free" :fingerscrossed: its something great!

Thanks for the tips everyone. I'll just keep my eye on him over the next few days, he might be a bit freaked that he can actually move now, thanks Dani.

Re: Thorpie - I personally think they made a HUGE unessesary deal outta this. Poor bloke has got that many medals & such for Oz, you'd think they'd give him a break & realise that he is human too & probably wants a life of his own. Did I hear him say he has "SomeONE" in his life now?:detective:

That someone was the person who helped him make the decision - from what i can figure - not a special someone.... But as for caring - i dont really :p - Just caught my attention cause of his feet size - and the fact that G looks to become a giant.

Poo about not being able to come - just mention it too him and see if he can slot it in :p

G moves alot - Even rolling accross the loungeroom floor and running into the coffee table. But He still happily plays on the bed - he only rolls back and forth alittle - but i give him something to play with and he happily stays there... Good boy!

 Ang- J has done the exact same thing the past 2 nights!! He has only just in the last week or really started to roll back and forth etc and now he sleeps on his side mostly and he has woken up each night at 11pm crying but I only have to basically go in and touch him and he goes back to sleep (just like you said...still asleep kinda) then he wakes again about 4-5 exact same thing. He has slept through for ages now and have no idea about this, have tried everything I can think of...maybe it is just a developmenatl thing 2 if your going through the same thing. Hope we both get some good sleep tonight :fingerscrossed:

Just a short one tonight, gotta go to the shops but will write more later :)

Mackenzie - happy 5 months today!! and Matilda I cannot believe is gonna be 5 months tomorrow...she was an angel yesterday for the funeral...and adored by all...funeral was very special sad but more like a celebration of my Dh's grandmother...my DH did the Eulogy and he was so moving and didnt break down too much...Everyone released balloons with messages on them...
she sleeping at mo...very grouchy today...thinks she misses my DH (he flew in and out for funeral)and all the cuddles she got yesterday...think she bored of boring old mummy and it too sticky and hot to really go anywhere...
She went in her new space saver high chair today for first time...so cute...she was happy as with her beaker of water and her bit of pear though she struggled to keep hold of it...I will put up a piccie when get chance...
I think it may be a wonder week or two as tillie sleeping erratically still crying more than normal and being clingy despite the ear infection having cleared up...I think she only days from crawling...though having said that she probly stay grumbly at not being able to get where she wants for months just to prove me wrong
To all the new rollers!!! congratulations isnt it fun!! Tillie now prefers tummy apart from in cot where she screams if she rolls onto her tum...and I have developed knack of changing her back to front as she always rolls!!
Okay better go and have a rest we were up at 3.30 to take DH to airport
bye

Aaaargghhhh last night was a shocking night here too! Even my 2.5yr old didn't want to sleep! But I did :(
So I am soooooo tired!

I was just wondering has anyone NOT started solids? I haven't yet, Evie is over 5 months, she was born on the 17th. She isn't really showing any signs of being ready yet, but it seems most are on solids and really enjoying them. My frist DD I started at 4 months, but it jsut doesn't feel like the right time for Evie.......I don't know, I'm not sure!

mum2peanut
22-11-2006, 19:55
Phineas- We haven't started solids yet. Figure I can hang out another month, Mackenzie shows interest in food, but not enough that I think she's ready to start.
Georgie- thanks, 5 months flies when you're having fun. Happy 5 months to Tillie for tomorrow:hugs:
bekky0 I often think the same thing when I read to mackenzie, she stares at the words and then I talk about the pictures and pint to them, she tries to turn the pages too. It's cute. I'm going to have a kid who loves to read if it kills me!
Mackenzie isn't enjoying the heat wither, today was a stinker. She doesn't sleep as much during the day when it's warm, it was ok at the shops but hen we went to my sister's and it was HOT. So we came come to AC.
We had our Santa photo today:xmas: It's very cute, I'll have to change my avatar. She smiled for one of them, which is the one I picked, of course, but at DJs you can buy the disk of all the photos taken. So i bought it, but they've accidentally only put one photo on, and it's not the smiling one, I might change my avatar and fix it when I get the smiling one.

As i posted elsewhere...

G HAS 2 TEETH NOW! At least it explains alot... :D

mythreelittlemonkeys
22-11-2006, 21:45
Phineas I not really started solids...i just read a dutch article about giving breast fed babies food themselves and they will feed themselves when ready. Tillie was teething realy badly and nothing would placate her so I gave her a cut cold pear like they had shown in this article and she kinda gnaws on it...but doesnt eat it IYKWIM. Not starting solids till couple of weeks I was going to wait till 6 months but we will be on a plane ot England so I starting couple of weeks early to get her used to them... She watches me eat and puts her hand to her mouth and drools...so sometimes I wonder if I should be giving her solids as she was 11 days overdue...
SO hard to know what to do...

Shanaynay
22-11-2006, 22:12
Thanks mytilleroo, I wasn't sure what to do! I have given her a piece of cucumber to gnaw on the other day, she loved it! Just like Tillie with the pear, she didn't really eat it, but she enjoyed the coldness and wetness and texture in her mouth I think.
Going to England! You lucky thing! I lived over there for a year in 2003... just loved it, can't wait to go back!

Well Evie has finally zonked out for the night. I think it's this heat, she tends to stay awake later in it. I'm off to bed soon....hopefully I get a decent nights sleep tonite!

:hugs: and  to all the beautiful chubba bubbas!!!

Hey Sarah! Happy 29th! happybirthday Only one more until you have a GREAT excuse for a HUGE party...

Phineas, I haven't started Jake on solids yet either. He is a day older than Evie (born 19th June) and just doesn't seem ready yet either. Gave him some pear the other day to try and he pulled the funniest face, like "yuck what IS that!" so figure we'll wait.

Mia, I love the new Xmas avatar! :xmas: Has motivated me to go have Xmas photos done. Am gonna try Saturday but if shops too full will go back during the week.

Bek, another tooth! Yay! Bet his poor little gums feel better. Maybe not your fingers though if he chews on them... ouch!

Phew, was cooler here yesterday so caught up on some sleep last night. No-one had much for about 3 days! Poor little man, his exzema flares when its hot so he was sweaty and itchy and miserable. MUCH better today.

And... he's discovered standing up. Loves it! To the point where i have to physically BEND him to make him sit. He gets this massively proud look on his face, like "look what i can do and how tall i am!". So adorable. Not that i'm biased or anything.... :D

Right, shower time. Byeeee!
Dani xx

Ahhh The standing fun Dani - Its really cute - Until you relly need them to sit and they JUST WONT.... G seems to think its funny. We taught him the word 'up" so we say that to him before we stand him up and he stiffens so it makes things alot easier.

What else is going on in the land of June?

My parents are on their way here soon. So this afternoon ill have some much needed respite! then party on saturday... w00t w00t!

Oooo Bek is this your big night out you've been looking fwd to? Oh yay, bet you're excited. Would be great to have a break. Pitfall of breastfeeding! Also of having all family interstate. No gransparents for babysitting!

Well - at least for another 2 weeks or so, then we'll be home in perth and i probably won't see Jake for a month or so except for feeds! think he's gonna he kidnapped.

Quiet day here today - try and have one a week where we don't go out or do anything, just play and have picnic on front lawn and go for walks and stuff. But am off out tonight with my two best Melbourne girlfriends for a farewell dinner.... :gloomy: Will be great to get back to Perth but will miss everyone here SOOO much.

Yeah it gets like that doesn't it with things you build up? Then you think about them so much you're kind of sick of them before they even happen. But bet you have a fabulous time once you get there. Even if it IS just for a day off!

Right - now i really AM gonna go have a shower instead of faffing around on bubhub. Bloody addictive website.... :o was going half an hour ago. Bye!

Hi All,

Just wanted to pop in and let you all know that I do try and get in here and read how everyone is doing as often as I can :) Everyone was such a great support during the pregnancy, I miss everyone! But I just don't know how you all find the time to post so much!!!!! I get through about half the posts and run out of time to say anything - but Mackenzie isn't much of a sleeper, so that's probably why!

Anyway, we are doing well, Mackenzie is teething  and rolling lots :) and creeping a little  so it's all very exciting!

All in all, I am mostly over my PND and really enjoying life.

Hope to pop in again soon, off to bed (and hopefully sleep) now.

Hi Sarah! Glad everything is going well!

Mia, that is the best photo! M is sooooo cute!

Bek, Glad G-Bee is on a break, he sounds like its well deserved. I had a little one here with me the other night. The DD of a friend of mine. Whilst in the bath with H she started knawing my arm & we felt a tooth poking through! YAY! She had a horrid night & this morning after all that IT'S GONE BACK DOWN! Poor Possum, she is sick to boot!:crying:

DH is in Melbourne, I all alone today & my frikkin washing machine overflowed this morning, don't know how but there was water everywhere..into the kitchen & everything!...:banghead: I have a mission of washing all my towels now...Happy Days

Hi Girls,
Just realised I put Mackenzie's photo link in and didn't say anything. Oops.
Ang- what a pain about your washing machine and all the extra washing:mad:
Bek- Another tooth, it's never going to end.
Megan- you don't need to be out of the thread for too long before getting out of date, sometimes after 24 hours I've got pages to read.
Sarah- glad to hear from you again. Glad to hear your Mackenzie is thriving and that you PND is improving.
Well Phil's off to a Sport's dinner onight so it's just Mackenzie and I, so I should prob go have a shower and stuff now so I can lay around all night (and eat!!)
Phil's off to the car auctions tomorrow, so hopefully by next week I'll have a new car :yelclap:

Woo hoo Evie! :smiliedance: Go the teeth! Good to hear there was no signs, looks like your going to hopefully have an easier time of it.

Ang - bummer on the washing machine, and on being home alone. How come things always go belly up at worst possible moment?

Mia, that photo of mackenzie is just adorable. She's such a happy looking little bubba and just so pretty.

Megan - good luck going back and reading, i have enough trouble keeping up every day or two!

and Bek - HAVE A BLAST TONIGHT!!!! You deserve a break, we all need one sometimes!

Had dinner out with 2 best Melb g/friends on Thurs night, fabulous food at a seafood place called Livebait in Docklands. I was such a pig, had entree main AND dessert AND coffee AND 2 glasses of wine!!!!! Felt so great to talk about (mostly) non-baby stuff as neither of them have kids. Sad though as it'll be our last night out together for a while...

And then sucker for punishment that i am i babysat for one of the girls in our mothers group yesterday. Thought would be hard but was actually fun! Owen is only 2 weeks older than Jake but 2kg heavier - makes me realise little bub is actually a blessing!! The boys kept each other entertained mostly so I didn't have to do much but supervise and take photos. Here's a piccie - Jake smiled his head off but couldn't get O to for the camera.....

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o5/elsumdm/P1010737.jpg

And i got to practice feeding solids as Owen has started eating. Poor little fella - i got sweet potato and zucchini all over him!!! But we got there in the end.

Well am off to sort through my clothes - one bonus of moving, it makes you clean out your wardrobe! Have a lovely weekend everyone....

Bekky- hope your night goes well, and that you make the most of it.
We still haven't taken M swimming, keep meaning to look into lessons, just haven't done it as yet.
Guess what!! We got out new car:yelclap: We ended up with a 2004 Camry, it's gold, the interior is tan and it looks great. It only has 19 000km on it! ~bekky~ thankfully evie hasn't bitten me with her tooth yet! MIL asked me when I tod her that Evie had a tooth, would I be putting Evie onto a bottle, because apparently DH used to bite her rally bad when she was feeding him so she stopped and gave him a bottle instead! hope she doesn't do that to me! OUCH!

~smidgebump~ omg jake is sooooo gorgeous, love that photo of him with his friend. (love the bonds stripes), and what a beautiful smile! his friends has alot of hair!!!

Evie and I went to a book party today - I didn't really have the $$ to buy anything, so MIL and my mum gave me some money to buy the girls some books for xmas. got some great ones, I love books!

So who will get the next tooth???

mythreelittlemonkeys
25-11-2006, 23:52
tillie today had her first try of solids... homemade potato puree and except for a splodge on her nose...she ate all of the cube...http://static.flickr.com/119/305611501_2e344d1fbe_o.jpg
I was so trying not to do before 6 months...but she was trying to grab my food and generally unsettled whilst I was eating...so I thought I will give her the spoon with food on and if she eats she eats and if not not...anyway she fed herself and wolfed it...so I think she knew better than Mummy...
Still I will see how we go...I not taking food out with me yet so she will have to have boob when we out...to lazy I am and I have no pots or anything yet!! :ecomcity:

Bek ~ How was your night? Can't wait to hear about it.

Well we've had a horrid night. Dh came hone y/day as expected. last night before going to be He found a swelled tick in the hall way & assumed that it must have fallen off our dog, Toby, he looked fine, checked him over, & went to bed. Well 3 this morning I got up to H, Toby was vomiting & had gone in the back legs. OMG I woke DH up straight away. He's so sick! I feel so guilty becasue I forgot to put the tick collar back on him after his bath the other day :crying: . The Vet Bill is going to be sooo $$$$ but I don't want him to die. He's up there at the moment, we have to call later on to see what the prognosis is, whether we'll have to think about Aeuthanising (sp?) him..... :crying:

My mum pretty knocked about by the chemo too...I dont see her at all apart from online and yesterday she tried to do a web cam call but she was sooooo sick she just faded...really sucks for her...but as it is hopefully preventing the cancer spreading I suppose it is a horridness you have to endure unti they find a real cure...I still cant get my head around the fact my mum has cancer...

mum2peanut
26-11-2006, 13:43
Oh Ang :hugs: It's awful when dogs get ticks, one of our family dogs got a tick a few years back, and we watched hi slowly become paralysed. Sadly he didn't make it, but he was a little foxie so I imagine there wasn't a lot of fight in him. I'm sure your dog will be fine, it's so expensive having animals, especially when they're not well, but what can you do they're family! Oh and I'm very glad the cars not white, although mu FIL was still trying to convince me of that when they were leaving.
Sarah/Georgie- chemo is just awful isn't it. I know how you both feel.:gloomy: My mum went thru chemo at the start of the year, and then finished radiation just before I had Mackenzie. It just seems so draining and really takes it toll. It's horrible cause you feel so helpless. My mum had breast cancer, so it worries me that I'll get it one day too. Bring on a cure:fingerscrossed: On the brighter side, my mum had her checkup on Friday and was given the all clear after her mammogram, so here's hoping it stays that way.
Georgie- those photos of Tillie are just too cute.
Phil just put the new carseat into the new car so I'll be zipping around in it in no time.:yelclap:

mythreelittlemonkeys
26-11-2006, 13:58
mum has breast cancer too...she didnt have a lump or anything just went for a routine mammogram in June as she was 54. NAd lo and behold she had grade 3 aggresive cancer...she lost a breast in august and been having chemo since September...maybe cos I so far away it hasnt really hit home yet...except I am having really bad nightmares about it...:gloomy: But you hear of all the positive stories and that helps! :D
glad your car all ready to go...must be soooooo exciting!!
Ok better dash Tillie havign a temper tantrum cos I tried to put her down for rest - this is her new game...but she is sleeping through at night so cant complain too much...

mum2peanut
26-11-2006, 14:09
Georgie- I think mum's was a Grade 3 also, she didn't lose a breast but they had to take lymphnodes and it had spread. I think because mum has larger breast they had more tissue to work with (We are a busty bunch). Mum found hers by accident too, she had to have a mammogram cause they were changing some of her medication for her (non cancerous) brain tumour and that's how they found it. There are so many positive endings tho, and surely your mum's will be too. Just means us girlies have to be a bit more vigilant with breast checks.

ziggie
26-11-2006, 16:09
Mia & Georgie - :hugs: My mum has aggressive Lymphoma. It started in her neck, then she had radiation & it went away, but on her next checkup, they found it it her back. So she's half way through chemo now, then she has to have more radiation. Unfortunately she will die from it one day, but until then, they'll just keep trying to zap it. Here's a funny pic of Mitch in her wig....

Well i just read through the weekend posts and all i can say is :hugs: to Mia, Sarah and Georgie and their mums.... i adore mine, main reason we're moving back to WA so can't begin to imagine.

Doesn't having your own kids give you SOOO much more respect for your mum too! Esp if you had dad like mine (hopeless gambling a**hole that he was).

Bek those photos of the two boys are so cute!! Did you have a blast and revert back to "pre-baby Bek" for a while on Sat night?? Oh i hope so!

Ang - heres a little magic :wizard: for the Tobester. Know what you mean re vet bills - my cats been rackin em up lately - but yep, they're the furry babies so what do ya do?

I'm knackered today, we were little social butterflies on the weekend. Out Fri night with friends; last round of clothes shopping Sat (SOOO much more choice than Perth) then lunch with mates then sorting through stuff for move, then Matt went out to a band after Jake asleep... except he didn't STAY asleep and screamed house down for a couple of hours, had just got us to sleep when Matt came home (pretty early so no complaints) but woke me up and couldn't sleep again.... then yesterday had Xmas lunch for mothers group, dinner for friends engagement party.... poor little man is now so sleep deprived, he didn't even wake up for 5am feed slept till 7!!!! Ouchy boobs woke me up. And put him down for sleep at 9 without so much as a peep. I'm a bad terrible mother. But a social one

What did all you lot get up to?? Whats on for the week? I'm taking Jake for kind of interim checkup today with health nurse as he won't be here anymore for 6 mths.... have to find new one in Perth. Other than that nada - have to stay home as they came and kidnapped my car this morning for its journey to Perth and DH has the other one....

Right - As G is close to waking, I best add my night in eh?!

Righto - Night started mid sat arvo - things had gone well with G and mum seemed more than happy with him - so :D

well i didnt drink a hell of alot - but at 8.30 i had an instant belly crook feeling. I couldnt shake it :( I was so annoyed. I pushed through till midnight - but alas - it didnt go away. .

Jason Decided to make a big night of it - which annoyedme the most - I couldnt enjoy it and it was mostly me that it was about ... Well yeah - cranky bekky it made.

At midnight i said goodnight to everyone stating - all things said and done - i still have to be a mum in the morning. But of course that doesnt matter to Jason - cause even if i wanted to stay up - he still wouldnt 'have' to look after G... F**King males.

But we did take the DJ decks - which was funny, one guy was absolutly starstruck by it - i spose you dont get to be so close at the clubs (on that note - i get to go home with the DJ ;))...

I woke at 3-4am - when G would wake for a fed, i went and found J - who was asleep on a deck chair
Then i woke again at 7am - again that is when G would wake. So i got up and had a shower and cleaned up the party. OMG i am such a mum!

G did quite well mum said - so thats good - I didnt freak out - but this one poor guy who sat next to me and asked one q. about G got a full run down on his life and then shown EVERY photo i had of him on my phone... HA!

Yesterday i pulled up alright, but im fluey now - poo... But my cousin came over and brought Jet - so G met his second cousin... Jet was amazed by G. And they thought jet was big - HA ...Still nothing on on my G!

Bekkyboo - sounds like it was an ok night after all? It's scary leaving them isn't it! I was beside myself when I left Evie to go to Pearl Jam!

smidgebump - oooo clothes shopping. I miss it. But I've promised myself no more clothes till I get down to a decent weight :o so I guess that'll be a while away

Alegna :hugs: hope kitty recovers :fingerscrossed:

feel soooooo seedy today - just totally buggered. I've really been wearing myself out.
Yay though , the girls have started going down for naps together in the arvo...it's heaven having them both asleep at the same time!

Sarah- your mum sounds like a very positive woman, and I think half the time that's part of the battle. I'm sure you must cherish every momnet you spend with her. That photo is so cute, we have a photo like that of my niece in mum's wig. Now that mum has hair again she's keeping her two wigs for the dress up box.
Bek- they're cute pics, it's good G will have a close cousin to play with. Sounds like you had a good night even tho it ended earlier than expected, and yes you do sound like such a mum.
Dani- I enjoyed your waffle! I'm a bit of a waffler myself. Sounds like you had a good one.
Michelle :yelclap: for Jayden's tooth.
It was my sister, Shandy's b.day today so we were out for lunch, and then we went back over tonight so Phil could see her. Spent the morning oraginsing car insurance and stuff so I could drive the car.
Planning on having an at home day tomorrow. I need a rest. I bought Annie on DVD today, I saw it at the checkout at Wooolies for only$13 and it has Annie 2 on it as well (I'm a dag, I know). So I'm gonna kick back with some popcorn and just hang out.:smiliedance:

YAY JAYDEN! YOU'VE JOINED THE RANKS OF THE NON-GUMMIES! :smiliedance:

Michelle ~ Thats so great about Jaydens tooth! So jealous hehe, how many bubbas is that now? 3?! Wow the Junies are away! None to Heath yet.

Mia ~ Glad your having a relax day today! it's nice to have every now & then. I Love Annie! shhh, don't tell anyone.

Bek ~ Glad you had a nice night even though not exactly as you'd planned, at least you got out, Hopefully your next one won't be too far away, might be able to make it more of a regular thing huh, hope so. I'm get to get mine :o so here's hoping it's not too far away.

Dani ~ Sounds like you need a zone out day too with all your socialising! Chill!

Zoe ~ How funny are you! gave me a great laugh - Toby is a DOG....You just gave me a "kitty" hehehe LMAO! Thankyou though for youe thoughts

Well on that front Toby is still NOT outta the woods, off oxygen but still havinh IV antibiotics! I feel more guilty every time the vet tells me something new. Iff to see a lady re: looking after H when I go back to work. Actually contacted her through BH her $ is way better than the care Ctr. $40 p/d for her & $55p/d for CC!!! If I can save money & am happy, confident & comfortable with her I'm gonna go fo it as it works out to a $50 saving every wk & that'll come in handy for saving for #2 bubba.

Anyway I'm waffling now! Sorry! Have a great day girls & will check back later

:yelclap: YAY Jayden! The start of the fun begins :p

Thanks all about my night - im still alittle bummed out - but ill get there.

Hope things keep improving for Toby Ang - Dont know how we'd gop it it was Terah...

As for the no.2 - Ive been getting the extact same MS that i got with G for the past 2 weeks - rather odd... Im thinking a HPT is in order. Freaking out tho - as im on the Pill and we are really not ready for another. J said he'd get the snip - we cant afford to be falling pregnant in a matter of months each time

J has been poached - the painters at the site he is working at have offered him work 3 times now - they keep telling him to come and work for them. J said not right now - we'll see at the end of this job - and they said 'we want you more now, your loyal!". Ja nd i talked about it - and we decided that after this site is finished - he'll say that he'll work for them only if he can be employed as fulltime not subbie - and we will be asking for another $6/h - so if they say yes - :D one very happy bekky it makes.

G woke for a feed at 4 - i stuggled getting him back down - but he is still down now... YAY

Now I'M waffling....

buh bye!

Is anyone else having issues with clothes? My issue is mostly that I don't want to buy more given that isobella was the same age at exact same time so I have PLENTY of clothes... but savannah is almost 2 sizes ahead of what bella was at the same age so all clothing is the wrong season...

does anyone else feel like 'why on earth do i bother buying new clothes when next week they wont fit'

its driving me a little nutty lol

Zach was still in 000 when he turned one and 00 when he turned 2... Bella was in 0-1 at 12 months and Savannah is in 0-1 already at 5 months today! ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh They just keep getting bigger and bigger?! lol

Someone pleaseeeeeee reassure me I'm not the only one going through this lol Having never experienced it before im not really enjoying it! Tho I do love having such a chubby bubby as its easier to give her squishy cuddles lmao

Anyway other than my whinge - all is well here, Sav has rolled from tummy to back about 3 times now and she can get from one end of her playpen to the other (which is about 1.5 to 2mtrs) just by wriggling on her back lol She is starting to make noises that sound more like words now too :D

What time does everyones bub go down for the night and wake up?

I put Sav to bed at 7, then wake her for her last (5th) bottle at about 10:30 - 11:30pm and she sleeps until 10am.. I'm thinking about giving her last bottle at 10 so hopefully she will wake up a bit earlier but a bit scared at how she will take to it!

Charmzy - G is in 1-2. He has gone through 5-6 clothes sizes in as many months  - Thank god from grannys - She bought him some new stuff the other day. And at the moment he is living in singlets and nappies anyway... But i completely understand the frustration! I love my chubby bubby too - he is such a sweety.

G rolls like that too - but thankyou for the reminder on a playpen - I must invest - I cant trust him in the loungeroom anymore - he ends up half way accross it!

G goes down between 6-7. He wakes for a feed around 4am - if he wakes before 5 he goes back down till 7-8am. If he wakes after 5, he wont go back down. He goes down for his morning nap around 9.30-10 for a couple of hours tho... then again after lunch, and again mid afternoon ;)

I was a good girl today - I have cleaned the bath room and swept and mopped... Feeling pretty good today tho... How is everyone else?

I must download some new pics of G - they are great...

Hi y'all! No idea where the texas drawl came from but what the hell, i like it!

Charmzy - Jake seems to be having a sudden change of sleeping and feeding patterns. Was going to bed around 7.30pm, waking for feed about 4 or 5 and then back to sleep till around 8am (much like Garrett hey Bek!) But for the last few days has been fighting going to sleep and up till about 9pm, cluster feeding his little heart out (I'm still fully b/feeding) then sleeping right through till 7am or so. But it seems to have boogered up his day sleep, can't seem to get mroe than a 45 min nap out of him. So more sleep in a row at night but less in day. Sigh. I actually prefer the early morning feed then back to bed for

As for the clothes thing - can't say i've much issue there as J seems to have decided to be a wee little man. Had him weighed yesterday, is only 6405g at 5mth 1 week! Nurse not worried as he's as happy as a pig in poo but i wish he was more rolly poly. Living up to his "tummy name" of smidge i'm afraid. Will call next one "humungous" or something.

Ang - have had a couple of chill days now, well at least trying. Would be more chilled if Jake would co-operate and sleep! Think he's paying me back for too much "out". And :fingerscrossed: for Tobes, sounds better than y'day!!

Bek - wanna come clean here too? Oh go on, you know you love it...

Michelle - yay for another toothie bub! Still nuffin here.

Right gotta go feed the milk bandit, bout all he seems to want to do today! bye y'all.
Dani xx

Well Just a quick one for me as after all with my Toby-Boy he passed away this afternoon :crying: He got Pheumonia from all the regurgitation & ended up back on oxygen, in the end he literally just stopped breathing. One minute he was then he wasn't :crying: O Goodness My DH is beside himself.

Ang :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: Don't feel guilty, life justs sucks at times that's all. Don't beat yourself up over it.
Well I enjoyed my relaxing day at home, athough M was abit unsettled really chopping down on her gums today, and was really hard to get her off for naps. We just put bongela on her gums for the first time, as this seemed to be the first time it was really bothering her.:(
Well it was very hot here today although being inside with AC we didn't really notice too much.
Charmaine- M is still in 00 so she's not growing too fast, we seem to have the issue of Mackenzie being too long for sizes that fit her everywhere else. Just bought her a truckload of 0s ready for her next growth spurt. I love buying baby clothes!
Mackenzie has her last feed at 10pm, and we wake her for a quick feed at 6am and then she goes back down until about 9am. We're thinking about putting her to bed earlier soon, so that she doesn't sleep as late in the morn, but I'm hesitant about disturbing her well oiled routine.

Today been pretty hectic...and Tillie is really cutting through she has hole in her gum where I presume tooth is about to pop up through?? but not on the side where she had white blister...she being such a sweetie u would hardly know she is teething...apart form the manic poo!!
Her ear infection finally gone...we went swimming which was good except she didnt hold her breath and nearly choked to death when we went underwater!! but all fun!!
Got her some phernegan for the trip to UK just in case...and we trialing tomorrow as some kids go hyper on it...rather than sedated...
Other than that same old same old...DH home for a few days before his last stint for year...and tomorrow we go to solicitor about getting access back to his children (v. long story but basically he has shared custody but no court order but his nasty ex out of blue stopped all access without any reason other than she unbalanced...)
Went to beach yesterday and taught spot (the beagle pup) to swim...he still not too impressed...
Hey one of my mums group fallen pregnant again her bub due on 25th July- total accident!! I am actually quite jealous as DH and i been trying kinda since I got the curse back...
Ok one and all have a good week...dont think I will be on much :) xxxx

mytillieroo- sounds like Tillie might be the next with a tooth! Sounds very close

Ang- :hugs: sorry to hear about toby, hope you and DH are doing ok.

Jayden is in 0's in pants and 0 and 00 in tops.
He has dinner at 5:30pmish then bath at 6:30pm then bottle and bed by 7pm, he will sleep through untill 5:30am the DP gives him a bottle in bed with us and he lays there for about an hour with me while I wake up! haha

The last week he has been waking up through out the night though. Last night was 3 times!! When he cries I go in and give him a few pats and he is out again, If he is crying hard I pick him up and as soon as I do he's asleep on my shoulder so I put him back to bed. Really weird. I cant work out what it is! Any ideas

He can now stand up holding on though!! Not showing any signs of wanting to crawl but just wants to stand! Tonight he stood holiding onto the coffee table by himself for about 5 mins. I couldnt believe it. I just sat there ready to catch him if his little legs gave way but they didnt!
Here's a little pic DP took :)

Oh Ang i'm so sorry :hugs: Poor little fella sounds like he fought hard. Life does suck at times.

Phineas - glad my smidge isn't the only one! Does make them easier to carry around i must say. Still tote him about in sling most of the time as too lazy to bother with pram! And he looks so cute in it with his sunhat and sunnies on... DUDE.

Michelle - wow! How strong is he! Don't they look so proud of themselves when they do stuff like that too. Not sure about the night crying - night terrors a bit maybe??

Hey Bek - how ya doin possum?? Can't wait to see new photos of the G-train... is he playing cricket yet??

Mia & Georgie sounds like teeth really close for the girls - who will pop up first i wonder??

And agree with wise words from Phineas - i spoke to my doc re having #2 and her advice was wait a year before starting to try.... you need to build up stores of stuff like calcium and iron and whatnot and get some muscle tone back (oh really? when does that happen exactly??) Otherwise you can be really knackered. Not good with a small baby AND pg!

But having said that - oh i loved being pregnant... and Jake is such a joy that i really wouldn't mind another soon.... :D

He seems to be making up today for not sleeping much yesterday. Nearly 8.30 and he's still in bed! Lazy bones. So i'm off for a shower while he's catching zzzzz's. Have good day everyone!

Mia & Georgie ~ Sounds like Mia & Mackenzie will be the next ones to get teeth! Wow! they're all growing up so quickly.

Zoe ~ No worries about the "kitty" seriously gave me a giggle, what I needed.

Michelle ~ J is a unit! hehe H has down this "cry" thingy in the night since he started rolling, maybe they are night terrors or they're a little freaked that they can actually move etc. H does pretty much what you described. Love the photo!

Charmaine ~ To answer you Q re: Sleeping etc. H goes down everyday at 7pm - I'm pretty flexible with everything else (within 1/2hr or so) but the bed time is 7! I'm so mean DH says mmwwwhhhahahahaha:p

Dani ~ Hope J is a good little smidge for you

As far as TTC, we watched this DOCO the other night on Discovery Called "in the womb" all I have to say is WOW! We humans are pretty amazing. Straight after I said to DH - "I want another baby" So maybe sooner than later...Maybe.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts re: Tobes....DH is much better now & everthing is organised for the vet surgery to arrange his burial.

:hugs: Love You Junies!!:hugs:

:hugs: Ang and dearest Tobes.... And as for the TTC - heheheheh, I dont think we will be just yet - cant imagine my pg (with all the heart problems and what not) and looking after gigantor Garrett :p

Dani - hahahahhaha - Not quite there yet - but OOHHHHH so close to crawling. This morning he kept getting up on all fours, but then his legs would slip out. Yesterday he was up on toes and hands like a push up.

Michelle - Gotta love that standing :D We taught G the word "up" so now when we say it he tenses so we can pick him up to standing - takes alot of strain off us!

G has taken to being a poobum to go to sleep.. Anyone else going through this? He used to selfsettle a wonder -but now we struggle getting him downa at night. Last night was the first time he woke before midnight (some may remember J and I have a deal, he is up before midnight and i am after) - so for the first time since G was born - J had to get up in the middle of the night and deal with him! :yelclap:

Its so distustingly hot here again today. G and i had a cold shower just before- and he is having his nap with the fan right onhim. Gawd we need AC here!

Bek- sounds like you and J have worked out a good deal with night waking, we used to do a similar thing when she fed at 2am, we said whichever feed she woke closest to, that person had to get up. Lucky for us she doesn't wake *touch wood*. I thought we might have had a hairy night last night with her gummies hurting, but we were good. How did you make your flashing avatar??
Dani- Mackenzie did the same thing today, slept the day away, I think she too was making us for a lack of sleep yest. I wanted to wait a year before TTC. I figure that's a decent break. I've heard that it takes 2 years for you body to completely recover from pregnacy, but I'm not waiting that long. I just want to go back to work and earn a little money before baby#2
Do you guys ever wonder what each other looks like? I was thinking last night, we all know so much about each other except for faces. Maybe we should post some photos of ourselves and hubbies/partners. It would be interesting to see if people look anything like what we imagine in our heads. I'll try and find a decent on of myself first tho.

Thanks, girls- any time I feel like **** I'll just read those lovely comments, it made me feel good.:yelclap: It's very rare to have photos of me, cause I'm usually taking them, or running away and hiding.
Dani- that photo of the 4 generations is really cool. And I like the one of the three of you. It's funny I didn't really think about your age until you mentioned it, I thought I was the oldest one, tho, know I do notice that you sig has your age, I never really paid attention to it. When I pictured you I didn't imagine you to be blonde, don't know why. I too don't like photos of myself, but you are so attractive I'm sure you have heaps of good ones. You look younger than your age. How long ago was your wedding?
Beeky- you look like you were ready to pop on your wedding day. It doesn't seem like that long ago that you were getting excited about your wedding day. I can't remember your age exactly, but I know you're a young one, my guess is that Jason is in his 30's??

Was reading up about what i have to do next with G's solid feeds - and even though i have been letting him have the spoon to play with at the end of the feed, i read that i should be letting him feed himself too. So heres how it went...

Your face is familiar to me Michelle! :detective: I think I've seen you before!

Go G-man! I tell you what this child is going to be backflipping off 60ft buildings before his 2nd B'day! :yelclap:

I didn't kow about the spoon thing actually, must give H a go.

he's been teething terrible the last 2 days....horrid nappies & rash around is mouth..was in bed with us by 2 am last night & then I was still up & down with him all night

bekkyboo
01-12-2006, 08:22
Awww poor H.... Its terrible that teething. Glad G has finished up for now.

A friend of mine (lambie) was the one who orginally told me to give G the spoon to play with at the end of dinner. He loves it. When i was reading up about the changes at 6 months for solids - like increasing meal size or cutting out bottles - it said it helps with hand and eye co-ordination and helps with other development too. I was really suprised that he took so well to it... Very cute - and it makes meals more of a play time too...

They did suggest a plastic drop sheet for easy cleaning but we didnt need it. He only dropped the spoon once. he didnt fling it around - he grabbed at the spoon and it went directly to the mouth (with the occational misjudge to the chin.. :p)

*~alegna~*
01-12-2006, 08:45
Bek ~ i would imagine H will be fine with it as he has rusks & things & is quite good at that. i can understand the connection for development of H-E Coordination though, definately.

They are all getting so clever. H has his 6 months vacc on Monday!...OMG 6 Months!!!! So I am gonna talk to Dr about what he thinks for solids from now on. I'm not usually one to follow what everyone else says but i AM a little stumped on this one.....

bekkyboo
01-12-2006, 08:47
lol. Me too ang...

G has his shots on monday too...

Im completely stumped on what to do next with solids. How much to give him - and what textures... argh.... Jase said i figured it out when we introduced it so ill figure it out this time too.. But Grrr. its all so confusing.

bekkyboo
01-12-2006, 09:30
Ang - I just found this for 6-8 months...

What to feed
• Breast milk or formula, PLUS
• Iron-fortified cereals (rice, barley, oats)
• Pureed or strained fruits (banana, pears, applesauce, peaches)
• Pureed or strained vegetables (avocado, well-cooked carrots, squash, and sweet potato)

How much per day
• 3 to 9 tablespoons cereal, in 2 to 3 feedings
• 1 teaspoon fruit, gradually increased to ¼ to ½ cup in 2 to 3 feedings
• 1 teaspoon vegetables, gradually increased to ¼ to ½ cup in 2 to 3 feedings

Hey bekky thanks for all that info :) I actually gave Matilda the spoon I have never fed her...only cos I was kinda thinking to start with it all an adventure isnt it? to get htem used to eating that way and I still giving her heaps of milk feeds so she getting nutrition...anyway she doing pretty well - like you said not much mess at all...but today we start sweetpotato...which I fear will be hellavu lot more messy than plain potato!!
Not read all the posts yet - will write properly when have :D

Okay guys take a look at this if you like... this is from my practical parenting book from UK called weaning and first foods...my CHN says she been trying to get hold of it as it really good...(by the way at home we call weaning going onto food not coming off the bottle or boob)

At 6- 9 months
Meals per day:
3 mini meals a day slowly bring timings in line with your meals.
Portion size:
Gradually increase amonts to 3-4 tablespoonfuls, but be guided by your baby.
Texture:
Finely mashed, gradually introduce more texture, as your baby is ready with first finger foods.
Flavours:
If weaning well under way begin to broaden babys diet and offer much more variety try adding tiny amounts of garlic, mide spices as well as fresh or dried herbs.
Vegetables:
Stronger tasting veggies, such as leeks spinach, onion, cabbage, capsicum, and sweetcorna dn frozen peas. Cooked veggie finger foods such as small broccoli florets or carrot sticks from 8 months.
Fruit:
Soaked and cooked dried fruits, small amounts of fresh orange juice(unless history of allergies)added to meals to boost iron absorption.
Grains:
Gluten grains, wheat barley, oats, pasta, flour in cooking, keep portions small.
Dairy:
Cows milk may now be used in cooking,
Meat:
Widen range of meats, Tiny amounts of well cooked liver may be included once a week.
Fish:
Steamed fish, cooked and pureed with veggies - check for any bones.
Egg:
Well cooked whole egg finely chopped.
Nuts and Seeds:
NO NUTS OR SEEDS
Milk:
Breast feed or at least 500-6--ml of formula or follow on formula.
Drinks:
Tap water no need to boil first.

OKAY - now this is basing you having started solids about 4-5 months...so for instance I will be a bit behind here and it is only a guide I guess :D
They really pro you making own food...and freeaing rather than jars...and suggest you make a homemade chicken stock from a carcass (no salt ) with some veggies to add to purees...
couple of recipe ideas too:
Lamb hotpot diced lamb and potato and carrot and fresh rosemary sprigs...then puree but coarser than puree...
mediterreanean chickendiced chicken breast and zuchini and capsicum and pasta and basil leaves again puree.

Ok and finally
a day idea for 6 months:
Brekkie: Oat based baby cereal with full fat cows milk
Mid morning: Milk feed
Lunch:Steamed fish mashed with potato and brocolli
Natural yoghurt mixed with apple puree
Mid - afternoon: Milk feed
Tea: chopped red capsicum, zuchini and carrot mashed with cooked pasta.
Bedtime: Milk feed

By the way they suggest avocado and banana at mango and melon etc at 5 months... using these as fast food ratehr than jars...

bekkyboo

Hi Girls,
It's funny that we are having solid converations. I watched the Kerrie Anne segment on it yesterday. It was all about when to start, amounts, introducing different foods one at a time, amounts of food, textures etc. Was going to start this w.end, but I figure she's not far from 6 months so I'l just wait. I'm excited about it tho.
Zoe- I love your photos, your girls are so cute! I love the name Zara too. I'm guessing you mid-late 20s sorry if I've just aged you. I loved my wedding dress, I have to say, I felt like a princess, I figured you'd only get to be a princess once ( that's my plan anyway). How on earth did you organise a wedding in 3 days!!! I had a whole year and could have done with more time.
It was great seeing all those photos, putting faces to names was very helpful.

Mia~ 3 days it was easy! Personally I think the longer you have to plan a wedding the harder and more confusing it all gets! What happened was we Jase and I were engaged for about 1.5yrs, but hadn't set a date yet as my parents said I should finish uni first :ecomcity: Anyway, they were living overseas and came back just for one week to visit. My and Jase's 3rd anniversary was coming up, and we had bought eachother commitment rings to celebrate.....I showed my mums when she came back from overseas and she just said "well why not get married? I'ts probably now or never (as I was preg so we'd probably never get around to it after Zara was born!) so we went to the courhouse to see if we could get an exemption (you have to usually give 28 days notice of marriage) and we could as my parents were flying back overseas in a week......so I got everything organised in just 3 days! It was easy because we didn't have much time, we just got flowers from the first florist we went to, just the one dress shop, I just had my sis as bridesmaid...plus it was jsut a small wedding. My Dad and SIL are photographers so they did the photography!

Geez I can talk lol sorry girls :o

Michelle~ you look EXACTLY like a girl I go to uni with! But I'm in NSW so it's not you obviously! What a beautiful piccie of you with the dolphin!

Mitchellsmummy~ Love the Xmas cards!!! Did you get them done professionally or do them yourself? The look fantastic! :yelclap:

Bekky~ WOW! G is really good at feeding himself  I haven't started Evie on solids yet, but I think she'll be good as she's pretty good at getting icy cold teethers into her mouth!

Lot of pooh, lots of vomit, lots of chewing but no tooth, poor chicken. We gave her a rusk to day to chew on she loved it, and she even managed to get it into her mouth on her own. Didn't really think that would be a prob, cause everything goes straight into her mouth.

What a wonderful tree Mia!! is it real?? We bought last year a fake one that looks really real from Myer - at home i have always had real ones...most people do as they everywhere! We decided not to put tree up this year as DH flew out yesterday until 19th and I am meeting him up in city and we stay overnight before fly home...didnt see the point as I would have to put up and take down in less than 3 weeks and b4 Xmas :)
Tillie loves the lights in the malls and I showed her tinsel today in Woolies and she loved it...Anyhow I guess she will get maxed out in UK anyway...:tree:
Going next week I think to have piccies done at Harvey Norman with Santa :)

Georgie - real poo is fun hey! G's has just been getting more and more solid. Very rare for it to be runny now... just wait till it happens in the bath- G's are like real poo... The first time scared the **** out of me! Jason laughed cause i yelled out "OMG its a nugget!" :barf: but rather

G is getting so clever. Not only is he very close to crawling - but he is just so smart! Jason was carrying him out to the car yesterday and G held his arm out when we got to the screen door - and he pushed it so it opened for him and daddy. Very cute.

Mia ~ I love your tree! Its beautiful. We're not going to get one til' next yr as we're off to Syd this yr for xmas & Heath won't know the difference.

Georgie ~ How funny re: Tillie's poo! They are fun don't worry & smell! wow! SOOO BAD! HEHE Great things to come. So excited for you about your trip..not long now!:smiliedance:

Zoe ~ YAY!!! for evie! what a clever girl!...Love her little fairy dress in your piccie - so cute.

Well my poor little Heathy-monster is a little under the weather! He is all stuffy & runny nosed. Puffed right up! No temp but un-well anyway. I've been giving him demazin & panadol to help & it seems to be keeping him "dry" a little more. We may have to put his shots off otherwise.

Hey Junies,
The weather is msierable here today. Went to mass this morn, and then had breakfast with some girlfriends. I've been very Carol Brady to day and baked cookies and muffins while Phil was out at the shops, Mackenzie sits in the high chair and watches. And I also wrapped some pressies to put under the tree. Trying to sort out what's from us and what's from Santa.
I love lazy days.
Ang- Do you have family in Syd? Are you here in NSW for long? M has a bit of a cold too. My sis said they can get colds if they are teething, although with this ridiculous up and down weather, that's more likey to be the reason.
Happy 6 months Heath.
Off to ebay to bid on some more clothes for M. Gotten some great Fred bare outfits in the last couple of weeks :smiliedance:

Bekky~ Awesome! A Bubhub picnic! Who did you meet, have you met any Bubhubbers before?

Well today we travelled up to Forster to visit my Grandparents. About 2 hrs drive. Absolutely poured it down the whole way! My grandparents just adore my two girls, they only have one other great-grandchild so far, but another on the way! Evie was smiling at my Grandfather the whole time, I think she liked his glasses!

We are being lazy and having takeaway tonight :o
DH has taken Zara (DD1) to get it now - whoa the house is almost quiet except for Evie's cooing!
No babbling yet~ are many other Junies babbling yet?

oh, mytillieroo~ keep posting piccies of your hubby :D ;)

and Evie has another tooth :yelclap: J still just has the one but it keeps get higher and higher..and so sharp!

Well we took the little man to DP's work party on sat, he was actully really good, we got there about 4 and he slept all the way in the car. Usually goes to bed at 7pm but we had to stay later than that so I tried to put him to bed out...No Way!! He cried his eyes out. I gave up and sat him up in the pram with a toy and he started laughing and playing!! little ratbag! haha. I thought it was going to be a nightmare but he actully sat and played while we ate dinner and had the awards and stuff so that was really good. DP won an award for Painter of the year (he paints cars) and boss gave him gift card for myer so it was shopping for me today!!! :smiliedance: Really good for the xmas prezzies!

Cant wait to take J to the Beach properly... took him when he was about 3mths and just let his feet touch the sand but cant wait to take him and let him play and swim!

Anyway better go cook tea or something! Still raining hard here, anyone else get rain or storm?

Hi everyone! Sorry been a while since been on. Busy busy busy with the move this week - we've got the removalists to do the packing so don't have to worry about that, but have been going through everything and sorting out the junk so we don't lug it all back with us. Plus farewells all over the place! Good to be going but sad too.... :crying:

Haven't got time at the mo to go back over the last posts so hope all is well. Really just wanted to say hi and merry christmas early as they pack up the PC tomorrow and until we hook it up at other end in a couple of weeks time i'm offline. Yikes! There goes my sanity!!

So - have a lovely couple of weeks and i'll update you all in a few weeks. Bye!

Yeh DP has a Great boss. Unreal. He is just so nice. welcomed all the partners and there kids all by name! and he organised a santa to come and gave a prezzie to each child. Jayden got a set of those peek-a-block thingies. Another guy at work was celebrating being there 10 years and he sent him and his family to hamilton island! No wonder people stay at his workplace so long...he treats his staff so well..... not like my workplace

J had a shocker last night. Think its because we messed him up so much with sleep times on the weekend. He went to bed at 7 as usuall the woke at 9 and then woke up like every 10 mins untill about 12-1! untill he eventully went to sleep properly. I didnt really get much sleep though cause I kept waiting 4 him to get up again! I realise now how lucky ive been with his night sleeps now  all the mummies out there who get up all through the night every night deserve a medal!! Hope he's back to normal tonight!:fingerscrossed:
Dont know whats wrong with me today (esp with hardly any sleep) I must be sick.... my house is spotless for the first time I can remember since he was born hahaha! I have vac'd, mopped, dusted, washed everything, cleaned toliets etc etc. I never clean! Dp will get a shock haha

Morning

G had his shots yesterday too ang - and did really well. He was crying before they started cause he was hungry and i didnt want to give him his bottle until after - and the dr was running 30min late :( oh well all went well...

Untill this morning when this spot came up - When i got Garrett out of his cot this morning, I noticed this rather strange spot (http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n111/The_Lee_Family/Garrett%206-7%20Months/Image001.jpg) and ended up ringing our child health line.

The spot is at the left hand top of the pic - that is his ear down the bottom...

It looks sort of like a blood blister as if he has pinched that bit of skin - but that skin there is not pinchable... and there is a break in the skull under it - but i cant remember if it was there before.

Its worrying me. I think ill ring Brett to come take us to the dr soon...

Oh Bekky sure it is nothing but hope you managed to get to docs just to put your mind at ease...there is nothing different in these shots is there?? Matilda is not having hers until we return...only cos I dont want the side effects she had last time whilst we on holiday...here they wont do them until a week before they turn 6 months...and she will be that just before we go...
No news here really except I broke two of my toes this morning!! Changing tillie and forgot I put a rat trap under the changer to try and catch the 1 pesky mouse we have left (caught all the others but this one is pesky and clever hence rat trap)I am very ow ow...but will survive!!:D
Got guy coming over to value house for our refinance...cant wait to clear the car loan and cards!! great Xmas pressie if it all works out!! :fingerscrossed:
Made apple and almond cakes (gluten & dairy free!)for mothers group today & they are amazing - even if I do say so myself you would never tell in fact I will not tell anyone!! I also made some puff pastry tartlet things with pancetta and semidried toms and feta ... I not tried those but they look yummy! GOD I AM TURNING INTO MY MOTHER!!!!
Tried making you all an e card last night not worked yet!! Tillie helping me...sorry not managed the typing yet she watching tv at mo (yes I know naughty me!! but she so spewy this morning and on her tum it just a spew fest so she in her rocker watching abc)
Okay gotta fly and soothe my throbbig toes before the dude comes from the bank

Georgie - your av is so cute! Im sure the spot is nothing too, but im in a hype as there is a light rash and couple more spots that have appeared and he is very irritable. These spots arent related to the immunisation - so dont be concerned! Im not sure whats different - but he only had 2 needles instead of 3 so that was good. Hope the bank man was nice, and your toes heal quick! OUCH!!

Best go check on little man...

Hi All........ I thought I would come in and introduce myself. After stalking Georgie (hehe not really, at least I hope she doesnt think so) when I realised that Matilda and my daughter Tori were born in the same hospital on the same day..... she said there was a June baby thread, so I though I would say hello.
I am Ali- I am 26, I live in Perth, and my Daughter Tori Rose was born on 23rd June @ 2:23pm.
I am looking forward to reading through some of your posts and getting to know you, and seeing what other June babies are getting up to.
Tori already has one tooth, and spends most of her awake time rolling around the floor and trying hard to get up on her hands and knees.
Anyway better go and get some sleep, stillfeeling out of whack from the introduction of Day Light Savings, but hopefully that will only last a few more days.

ladies that spot was from immunisation :( dr think since we havent had a reactionbefore it is just a build up in the system... He is so tired this morning but flat =out refusing sleep. He is on my lap now holding onto both of my hands while i type - making it reallly really hard!!!

His injection sites are lumped up like i have never seen them before - most of his chunky thigh!!! big, red and hot.. .poor little man~

Hi Ali- welcome to Junies!
Poor M still showing all signs of teething, but showing no teeth. Went to see CHN today. She gave me some Teething Relief tablets to try (all herbal) cause it concerns me giving her bongela and panadol at this point. Only cause she doesn't seem to be in pain, just uncomfortable at times.
She is currently sitting in her highchair next to me throwing all her toys overboard!!
I'm starting on solids on Sat, yeah! Was talking to the nurse about it. I don't want to wait until the 22nd, I'd rather her be used to eating before Xmas.
Needles tom, so I hope we don't have any reactions :fingerscrossed:
Georgie- that photo is so, so cute!
Bekky- glad that G is doing better.
Stats-

Length 66cm

Hi girls and thanks for the welcome, I think it is going to take me a while tog et used to who is who but I am willing to try :xmas: I am pretty good with names that comes with the territory of being a teacher.
I havent had Tori weighed or measured for ages, I must get onto that. She is a long skinny thing (dont know where she gets that from :p ). She is a little bit grumpy today, really struggling with this tooth.

Yay to Heath for sitting up, that is a huge achievement- they dont stay little babies for long do they.

Bekky- Love the name Garrett, that is really different.

Georgie- I just love that santa photo, so cute. Definatley something that you can pull on on her 21st.

Anyway back to the kitchen where I am cooking batches of baby food.

thats good mia :)

Ali - Thanks, Garrett was named after the turbo brand - but its a boys name meaning bold. We are a import car family here - so it wasnt a suprise.

as for

they dont stay little babies for long do they.
G was never a little baby  LOL - He was 2 and a bit weeks early and still 4kg! And just went pyshco from there... He is one (if not the) fastest growing baby around here... I think even through all of the forums he is one of fastest growing. Most tell me their big babies were almost as big at the the same age, but most arent as big... but almost 11kg at 6 months is insane! Hoping for him to settle when he starts crawling.

well darlins... This morning has been cr@pola. Jase had a quick play with G this morning. But when he left G screamed for 30min straight. I gave up, put him down on our bed and went out to ring Jase. When i went back in, he was alseep. cheeky thing.

Bekky I hope Garrett come good!
Tillie hardly ever goes down now in the day I think it cos she sleeps through at night...hard though to get anything done...my excuse for the sudden lack of housework being done!!
Oh BTW did I ever tell you that the guy I used to work with in UK was called Garrett (only other time i heard it apart from pat garrett in Billy the Kid) he was a really top bloke 6 ft 6 and well into his formula 1 and cars in general...must be something to do with the name!!

Our news today is another tooth!! now we have a pair of gnashers on the bottom...the second one just erupting...:smiliedance:

Getting Tillie weighed next week and I will
ask them to measure her too...she'll be 10 days off 6 months but we will be in UK when she is 6 months...she is looking a little bit skinny for Tillie even my DH commented...and I want to check she getting enough milk...I think it cos she spews about 20 times a day...doesnt bother her no pain just a lot of cleaning up for mummy & a ruined rug!! The solids helped a bit but they made the colour interesting :) Anyone elses bubs still spewing??

Oh we are going to HN on Saturday...to have her piccies done...I dont have a christmas outfit and too broke to get one so I gonna dress her all pretty in pink for it...the hat in the photo I did is Cruz's and he lost the white bobble on end...I actually really want to get her a fairy dress a white and gold one...but I spect I wont...
Ok off to spend my medicare money...wahoo on looroll!! yay!!! the dog ate 3 rolls which was my quota till pay on Monday grrrrrrrrr! :devil6:

Georgie - hahahahah on G's name - must be something in it! G sleeps through from 6ish to 4ish and then back down till 7 or 8... and still has 2-3 day naps. Good boy!
New tooth! Hurrah!!! has anyone else started with the brushing yet? G loves it - has his own little brush and paste - its so cute!
Is Tillie moving heaps? like rolling and just genreally active? Our friends bub is tiny and looses weight cause she is so active - she is a month older than G - so im betting Tillie is fine.
G still chucks alittle bit too. But since solids is far less - and he no longer seems in pain from it. We just put it down to being a normal baby now...
As for the photos, we are off to get G's santa shots this weekend. I am going to do some ones with a santa hat too to go with the family newsletter that i wrote up...

Well since little man is out of the count for the morning, ill get on with some other things...

Zoe, Those photos are so cute, the black and white ones are great. I've heard that your supposed to brush with water when teeth pop up, but I think I'll use toothpaste when the time comes caue it will be tastier and then prob more fun for her.
georgie- mackenzie is currently bery spewy but this has only happened in the last couple of week. Yeah for tillie's tooth :smiliedance:
:yelclap: She kept the rotarix syrum down tho today and we survived her 6 month needles. Have many other June bubs had the rotorix doses?

nope we not had the rotarix dose - not even heard of it and it not been discussed by my doc or CHN...what is rotarix??

Phineas they are gorgeous - especially the feeding one...I actually was thinking today I would love a pic taken of Tillie feeding it sucha special time for us and she often smiling whilst drinking LOL and she pulls my skin with her fingers like in your picture...did you take the pic or your hubby??

Zoe - They are gorgeous shots... I have this one... (http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n111/The_Lee_Family/The%20many%20faces%20of%20Garrett/Bekkys048.jpg)

Mia - no Rotorix here either, I think G was too old when we found out about it.

Megan - we are off to have G's done at the weekend too!

Ang - G is semi better. Really clingy tho... Anyone else having this problem? I cant leave the room with out him chucking a wobbly. Now he wont even go to sleep by himself, he has to be asleep to be put into his cot. This better be a phase ... :banghead: He is way to heavy to have to keep rocking to sleep!

Thats great about H sitting really well still! G does and doesnt... He doesnt really like it that much, he is more interested at the moment in this trying to crawl caper... Getting really close...

Well my mothers group are meant to be coming here today - havent seen them in months since my car went capput... so hopefully all goes well.. Best do the washing up eh?!

Mia- I am a primary school teacher, for the last fewyears I have taught yr 1/2. I am hoping togo backto work a couple of days a week at the start of next year, but jobs are just so hard to come by in the city. I guess I will just have to wait and see.

Zoe- Love the photos, they are just gorgeous. I love black and white and sepia shots. Most of my wedding photos arein black and white or sepia.

Ang- Good luck with the job hunting, I am job hunting at the moment but as today is the last day of school untill 31st Jan my hands are going to be tied over the summer holidays, it is just so frustrating.

Megan- Tori is a little champ, really can't complain she is such an easy baby. The one thing I am hanging out for is for her to sleep through the night......... even if it was just a couple of times a week. I can see why sleep deprivation is a form of torture..lol... most nights she wakes between 2-4 for a bottle, which is fine because she usually goes back to sleep, but then it takes me hours and hours to go back to sleep. Dh is pretty good though, when she wakes up in the morning he gets up with her and lets me sleep in untill he goes to work.

Bekky- Isnt it cute when they are trying to crawl, tori can get right up on her knees, but usually she needs her head of the floor, she has a little trouble supporting both. She has mastered the art of moving backwards though.

Georgie- Ihave seen the family stone, it is a pretty good move. Gotta love a laugh and cry at the same time.

Anyway I best be off to attack the dishes- I hate dishes they are the bain of my life.

I have to ask how many needles is the 6 months shots? I hate going to get needles done- makes me want to cry too, and what is the Rotorix? never heard of it.

Have a great day everyone.

Ali ~ 2 Shots in the 6 mth Schedule

Rotorix is for a gastro injection that is very nasty for the littlys..it prevents them from getting it.

08-12-2006, 11:32
dont think they do the rotorix here in the grand old state of wait awhile ...only I asked the CHN and she said what? I will ask the doctors next week...but with the way tillie spews prob not worth the 100 bucks
Ok gotta go Tillei fighting yet another daytime sleep LOL

We survived our 6 onth shots with no reactions :fingerscrossed: everyone else is the same, my friends bubs had hers yest and she has big hard welts and fevers last night:no:
Rotarix only came out in June or mid this year sometime. A lot of Dr don't know about it, but the ones who do seem to be pushing it. From what I can remember you have to have the first dose before 6 months, and it's oral, they squirt it into the side of their mouth so they can't push it straight out. I left M is her capsule for it and left her laying for while afterwards. It is expensive but I thought it was worth it, gastro's such an awful thing for bubs to get. Sorry for the :ecomcity:
Ali- I've had year 4 for 3 years and have them again next year, how boring. But i'm job sharing, doing three days a week, so it shouldn't be too bad. Did you have a job before you were pregnant? Are you not on maternity leave?
Bek- hope your mother's group meet went well.
Ang- goodluck with the job hunt
Georgie- hope you got Tillie to sleep.

Hi all

I come and go but I love catching up with you all. I was previously bumpsmum in the days PD.
Georgie is a titch. Incredibly active but tiny.
At 5months she weghed 5.9kg having weighed 3.345kg at birth. Having had a bit of worry I took her to the ECN yesterday and she now weighs 6.36kg:yelclap: so I think we can stop worrying.

She shows all the symptoms of teething but without the teeth. We use teetha as we also are reluctant to use too much panadol etc. Also its too difficult to get bonjela on the right spot!

We're loving our solids. We were told to start a little early due to poor weight gain. Avocado and sweet potato are the favs.

Still BF. Did say I would do it till 6 months but reluctant to give up as this is the last baby. :gloomy: I want another but DH says  .

Georgie is nearly crawling which is a bit of a worry. She kinda commando crawls at the mo. Prob why shes not gaining weight!

Sorry to disappoint all you mums of girls but she is truely THE prettiest, cutest girl in the world LOL. But I guess you all say that:laughing:

Well must try and read what I have missed on the post since June and will promise to be a better poster in the new year. LOL

Sorry I haven't been around for past week or so guys.... I've been having some emotional probs, and just been put on medication for PND :gloomy: .
We have our own business, so Damo works 7 days, from 7am till dark, and with day light savings, sometimes he doesn't come home till 7.30 or 8, so I'm feeling very lonely, and like I just want to curl up and die. Sorry to put this on you, I know I should post this in the feeling lonely section, but I love you guys so much, so wanted to tell you instead.
We've been so busy the past few weeks, and I feel as though I'm so wound up, I can't relax, and I've started to get angry at Mitch when he doesnt sleep for long, or when he gets grizzly. Don't worry, I haven't hurt him, and I never will. I'm glad I went and saw someone before it got out of hand though.
Damien's been so patient with me, I'm so lucky to have him. I've been treating him like cr@p, snapping at him one minute, and crying that I'm sorry the next. He tries so hard to be home as much as he can, but it's really hard for him coz if he doesn't do the work, we don't get paid, so there's not much he can do about it. It's our busy season right now, so hopefully it'll get better in a few months.
Thanks for listening, I feel a bit better now, especially knowing that you all know how I feel to some extent, and that I'm not the only one that has been in a rut. I shouldn't have stopped coming on here and remembered how posting on bubhub makes me feel better!
Enough about that now....
I'm so glad everyone seems to be well, (other than colds and spots), love all the pics you've been sharing, the breastfeeding ones are so wonderful! Pity I didnt take one when Mitch was still on the boob!
Anyway, gotta go feed the little guy now, thanks again everyone xoxoxo

Sarah :hugs: i really feeling for you... I find it hard DH being away all the time and we have the same if he not working we dont get paid...I get the snappy thing too...and you are so right coming on Bub Hub does really help!! makes you realise you are not alone etc etc
Miss_reading...forgotten you had a georgie...post a pic up sometime so we can see another gorgeous Junie :)
Tillie just had her HN santa photo taken...she didn't cry or anything she was happy but not smiling in photo as they hardly gave her time to...but she was looking at the camera and looks sweet! I only got the 5 buck package and didnt take a pic myself (totally unorganised and forgot camera!!)but will be great little pressie for rellies...and good for her scrapbook - when I ever get round to do it!
Has anyone else got 1000's (and i mean 1000's) of photos on disc but none printed out? i really think we should print some off and put in a real album too...ah well that will be my new years resolution to get that sorted...
Who else is going back to work (I not cos I dont have any!!) I waiting for my permanent residency and then I applying to uni to do primary education...I wanted to teach in state system but having talked to Torismum about the weird system over here looks like my best chances to work in city will be going to private schools...I would do the whole country thing but TIllie would be pulled out of school etc...and not that keen on that...
I having a total career change as I found it impossible finding work here in Perth due to my residency status, and non Aussie experience and ha ha my age in a fiercely competitive marketing arena...I was a marketing manager in UK for a fine food producer and that counted here for diddly squat as did my qualifications ho hum...so I going back to school to do something different that I always yearned to do but never did before...teaching.
Sorry waffled heaps today...I will leave you all be now!!
Have a great day!!

Christmas Cheer to all the Junies. Here's a Christmas card for you all.

Sarah- :hugs: Was wondering the other day where you were. You always notice when the regulars go AWOL. Glad to hear your feeling a bit better, and I hope the meds do their job. Us Junies are always here for you honey, and as Ang and Georgie said, it's better out then in. (That's what I tell DH when I'm nagging him:laughing:)
Georgie- you'll have to post your Santa photo so we can check out the gorgeos Tillie. I'm actually pretty up to date with my photos, once I reach 100, I burn them and go and print them up
Mackenzie's had a great couple of days, teething symtoms seem to be gone for now, thank goodness, and she's back to her happy self.
We started solids today. She tried plain Farex this morn, which you can see by this photo, she didn't like it. She spat it all out.
http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r182/mum2peanut/IMGP0689.jpg
She was more interested in the spoon.
http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r182/mum2peanut/IMGP0693.jpg
But then this arvo I tried pear and apple Farex, and she quite enjoyed it, she still pulled a funny face, but swallowed it all, and even opened her mouth when the spoon was coming her way. Too cute!! Going to continue on Farex for a couple of days, then try pumpkin. I've heard you should try one food for three days, and then move on?? I think for allergies??
We also spent the morn trying to get a good photo for our Xmas card, as you can see the one on the card is great. But it did take about 15 photos to get there.

Georgie - Sorry you had a bad night! It doesn't take long to get used to sleeping for longer than a few hours at a time, so when they wake up, it SUCKS! I think it's wonderful that you're going to be a teacher... I'm going to return to study too one day ( ) and hope to do education. No way I could handle it at the moment though!
Mia - You are so pretty! I've heard that you should only introduce one food each 3 days too, and it is because of allergy risks  .

I got Mitch's Santa photo done the other day too....

Sarah, No problems... You may find (as i have) PND is far far far worse with PMS... so be forewarned!

Gerogie - i know that feeling - YUCK! G likes dancing around too. I danced and sung sissor sisters to him the other day, he thought it was hilarous.

Mia - great shots. So cute with the feeding! Yeah, its for allergies taht you wait. It gives their bodies time to react so you can pick what is setting it off...

G had is santa shots - http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n111/The_Lee_Family/Garrett%206-7%20Months/Image012.jpg Tried to pull the beard off, then eat his finger. But generally happy... It was a spur of the moment thing, i didnt think they would be open. and since i still dont have a car, we take any opportunity to get things done.

Here are our santa shots...

Where is everyone?!?!

Well, I'll just have to post again then... so there!

I've had a pretty good day today, I had a friend over from work that was pg at the same time as me. Her bubba was born 4 days after Mitch. And her visit made me feel so good, coz her little one does nothing yet either! :smiliedance:
No rolling, sitting, teeth, sounding words... I'm so glad, I thought Mitch was the only blob... Just kidding!
How was everyones weekends? Mine was good, but busy. We had my sister and her 3 kids, and our neighbour and one of his kids over after tea on Friday... we played cards which was fun! We just play with a chip set, not real money, phew, coz I lost! Saturday night I had my old work xmas party at a really nice restaurant in Berwick, called Clover Cottage. All you Melbourne Mum's HAVE to go, it was a devine experience. Best food I've ever eaten, and I've eaten ALOT! Sunday we went out for lunch for a friends daughters 11th bday. So I basically spent the whole weekend eating. Yippee! There goes the diet! Hehehe

Not much action in here today. What is everyone doing?? Where are you all??
Sarah- Wkend of eating sounds good to me. I love food, she says as she stuffs her face with wedges.
Phil's at a school dance tonight so it's just Mackenzie and I. She has been terribly unsettled today, she just really fighting daytime sleeps at the moment. The poor thing's so tired but just won't sleep. Got her to sleep tonight by pushing her in the highchair back and forth.:banghead: Very frustrating. And very unlike her.
Off to Sydney shopping tomorrow with a few girlfriends and their bubs, I hope M's a bit happier, although she does sleep better when we're out and about. As long as she's not unsettled in the car. We're only travelling about 50 min, (not going right into the City, doing that on Friday)
Took M up to Phil's school today, they haven't seen her since she was born so they were very surprised  she's grown and changed so much. Anyway enough of my blabbering.
PS. Christmas tree voting thread is starting soon, so back your fellow Junie. :tree:

Zoe - ages ago you asked about teeth cleaning... ? The deal as far as i know it is that you clean from the moment they surface - but a clean washer is surfice. But i wanted a brush. Get him used to it early. As for the paste, they say it isnt nessecary yet, but as QLD water doesnt have flouride- i wanted to help as much as possible. There a genetic disease that he will most prob get. were we get no enamel on our teeth - ever... So i have to protect his teeth REAL good from birth - and no sweets and lots of brushing... My teeth are shocking (all my siblings and I have this problem), and i have caps on all of mine as they are about half the width of normal, and not smooth... :( Poo...

Oh Georgie you poor thing.:hugs: I hope Tillie doesn't get it. If it's that bad for you imagine what's it it's like for a bubby.
Did you eat something strange that could have caused food poisoning. It must suck not having anyone to help you out.
Hope you feel better soon. :fingerscrossed:

Hi all!

Ang - Yay about the job! What will you be doing? Sorry if you've told us already, I forgot - my bad! Fantastic that you see your mummy soon, you must miss her alot. How far away does she live? (Just had a mental blank & couldnt remember how to spell does! Spelt it like dose at first, der!)

Bek - Glad your seeing your mummy soon too... :hugs: to all you girls that don't have them around all the time. Poor G, teething again! How many does he have now? How long is he usually grizzly for? *Mitch reaches out towards 'puter with a rusk* 'Here, suck on this mate, they taste yummy' Hehehehe

Michelle - Love the santa shot in your av! Gorgeous! And :smiliedance: J's sitting! Can't wait for Mitch to sit. I try him a few times a day, but won't last even a second by himself yet.

Mia - Glad you had fun shopping. You went in to Sydney right? I'm so jealous, I'd love to have heaps of money and go mad in Syd... Melb has good shops too, but Syd have better (I think?). I'd shop every day if I could! Have fun today with your friends.

Georgie - Oh No!!! Hope your feeling a bit better today, and the meds have kicked in. I'd come and take Tilly from you so you could just rest, if I could! That sucks.

Well, its all smoky here in Melb again today. All the fires across Aus are pretty scary, aren't they? Imagin what it's gonna be like in Feb/March?!?!
We had a lovely day yesterday. My sis, neice, Mitch and I walked to main st and had a coffee at a cafe that has a real comfy couch to sit on out the front. We stayed for ages! A real good pick-me-up, did my brain good! Hehehe. Here's some pics...
This is my neice Adele, with Mitch...

Glad your feeling a bit better georgie... Bugs suck

Sarah - those shots are golden. Delly looks like such a happy girl - i love pics like that! He has 2 teeth at the moment, I cant see what is coming down at the moment. First tooth it was 3 weeks of hell, 2nd was a week, so fingerscrossed he gets better with time. As for the rusks :( G appears to have a wheat or milk intollerance. So we have rulled out rusks and yogurt for now to see what happens... So cold teethers and apple chunks will have to do...

Im so tired today - and feeling so giddy again. My heart has been unsettled for about 3 days now (for those that remember from our pg days - its the same problem) so im just potterng about - dont want to tell J and worry him. My FIL is coming today too, so he will be here for J's birthday dinner this Fri night - poor J - his birthday is chrissy eve!

I hope it isn't something to be too worried about :( . Well, I think next tooth G gets will come through in 3 days... :fingerscrossed: !!!!!!!

Sarah- those photos are great. You niece is beautiful, as it Mitchell. You don't look 29 at all. I agree with Zoe. Shop n Syd are very good, going right into the city on Friday tho, it should be nice and Christmasy. I could, and sadly normally do, go shopping everyday. What else do I have to do with my time.
Ang- clapping hands!! how exciting, and weren't you the Junie mum worried about her bubs not doing much. That's so great. I'm currently teaching M the word food.
Zoe- that Santa photo is great, Evie's smile is huge, Zara (??mind block) looks a little unsure tho, is she scared of Santa?
Hope you're feeling a bit better this evening. It must be worring for you, especially when you want to have more bubs.
Gerogie-glad to hear you're on the mend. It's funny that Tillie was being good, they always say kids are intuitive. It always amazed me how much better my classes behaved when I wasn't well.
Well, girls off to our last gymbaroo for the year. Hoping to book in for next term. Mackenzie went in the big bath for the first time tonight. She sat in her bath seat and splashed around like crazy. She loved it:smiliedance:
Almost finished my Xmas shopping.:yelclap:
C ya girlies. xoxo

Good morning girls & boys!

Zoe - what a priceless shot... What a good girl Evie is for smiling... Mitch looks so solomn (sp?) in his! Hehehe. Glad you managed to find a spot that has a nice background & setting, it's a really nice pic. Thanks for saying I don't look 29, I sure feel like it! Wish I had some recent pics of me where I'm not so fat... could lie & post old shots, but who cares huh?

Ang - *Mitch looks on with wide eyes as Heath zooms past leaving a trail of smoke* "Hey Heath, wait up! I'm coming... " Hehehehe. Good on ya Heath, you clever boy! Have fun with your neice today and tomorrow, hope you dont have your hands full! And good luck finding something to wear for Sat.

Bek - how's G's toothie peg coming along? Are you feeling any better? Hope so... x0x0x0

Mia - Thanks for saying Adele & Mitch are beautiful, I think so too! When I win tattlotto, I'll fly up & We'll go on a shopping spree.....!

I've got the final playgroup for the year today. Santa's coming, which will be fun. Its so sad that all the activities are finishing, what will I do all summer?
