Just wondering how everyone spend their New Years Eve Night with bubs or without?
I have been thinking about what we should do. Well we dont have a babysitter this years so was wondering what everyone does with kids. well dd is only 1 so she is in bed by like 5.30pm so I think it may be hard to take her out somewhere.

Last year we stayed at home and had some friends over. We had a BBQ and it was heaps of fun.

This year I have a feeling i'm going to be over due or probably in blo*dy labour! :p

We usually stay home and get takeaway, put some kids movies on for the evening. They have sparklers at night when it gets dark and when they go to bed DH and I have some drinks and watch the fireworks on tv.....how boring!!!!
But its fun

We overlook the opera house so we get to see all the fireworks over New Years eve, there are so many! We just have a huge BBQ and invite everyone round and just generally have a P*** up.:D

New Years is rather boring now as I am always at my parents place every year over Xmas and New Year. As soon as it hits 12 everyone goes to bed.

Last year DP worked until 8, came home and I'm SURE we were asleep by 12...

This year, DP has the night off... YAY.... we are having some friends over and will only have been in our new house for a fortnight so it will all be very exciting :D

Last year i was 38 wks pregnant with Riley so we didn't do anything. Didn't even make it to midnight.

This year i think we are having a bbq at our house with friends. Nothing too fancy but i am looking forward to it.

We usually do something similiar to my2boyz, the kids get excited if we make it a bit special for them, get out bowls of chips, let them have sparklers, stuff like that. We live on top of a big hill that overlooks the whole of the
Gong, so we have an AWESOME view of the fireworks display, so the kids love to sit on the verandah and catch them as well. If they are asleep before midnight, DH and I just sit up and chat and stuff, and watch the later fireworks.
This year though a friend is having a big kid friendly bbq so we will probably go to that :)

My DD will be 12 weeks old so I will most likely have a quiet night at home with her just like any other night. I don't mind at all.

We will put bubbie to sleep and get some takeaway and put on some music and watch the fireworks from our back verandah and then snuggle up and go to sleep. We usually make a bigger deal out of nyd.

We live a few mins from the beach and they always have something going on at the fair grounds. Usually rides and sideshows etc then fireworks so we take the kids down there for a walk and stay for the fireworks. We have done that since ds1 was a baby

This year we are thinkign about going to a local park and watching the shows and fireworks and then coming home putting Abby to bed and enjoying some adult time. Either that or we will have a bbq a nd invite the families around

NYE was never anything major for me well only one year when i was single and out on the town but it doesnt really mean much

Last year DH & I stayed home & just had some cheese & bikkies and a drink or two, but we were both exhausted (DD was only a couple of months old!). We were both nodding off by 11 and next thing I knew, it was about 1.30 and I had woken up on the couch! Just woke DH up & said Happy New Years, I'm going to bed!

Very exciting!!

Nothing planned so far this year, but the IL's will be up here for a visit (groan), so I'm sure it will be something just as unexciting!

thats sounds like my story
well we always used to go out new years and then last year dd was very young and my mother babysat her and we still went out but this year I don't really want to have her babysat. thinking maybe a party or get together maybe at our place or a friends place where I can take dd along and just put her down. I definatly dont think it will be a big one. And we dont find out till about a week before the night what shift my dh is on. he works eighter new years night or new years day sdo eighter way might be a quite one for the both of us or maybe me and dd on our own:laughing:

Well we normally spend it with my DS best friends parents...the kids run crazy and normally crash on the floor and we just have a nice meal, drinks (except I was preg last year) and walk home! This year they are going away :crying: so looks like its just us...but have been thinking about asking some other families who are like us with kids over for a BBQ and drinks and the kids can watch tv, play and run amoke!

Ditto Mandy.

Im sad tho - This year there is a massive party (as always ...) at Bondi - with some bands like Daft punk I really really really want to go - but with no one to look after G - it would appear that we wont.

Last year i was pg - we ended up cruising around in a mates r32 around mount cootha - and when the fireworks went off we said - oh it must be midnight -

We might have a party here this year so that we can at least do something...

We haven't even thought about New Years yet (still my DS's b'day and xmas to get thru 1st)

Pre babes we'd go party.. then we started going away camping so would be round a camp fire, drinking and chatting (wooohooooo what a party girl), last year DS2 was 2 mnths old so we went out to dinner with friends and watched the fire works.

This year...who knows, get together with friends and just enjoy the company.
