Hey girls (and guys) :p
Just want to know of any remedies to help things along in the means of getting pregnant... Maybe even if there are ways to concieve a little girl?
I have an 11 1/2 month old boy which took us about 2 yrs to concieve and I want another baby, would prefer a baby girl but wouldn't really mind either way, but dont want to wait another 2 yrs before concieving again!
We've already been trying to concieve for 8 months now and no luck, so any ideas is worth a shot! I'm not as obsessed with falling pregnant this time round so just to let you all know - I know that thinking about it all day everyday doesn't help any!! ;)
Hope to hear from you all soon,
razzle

Now don't get me wrong - I don't know if its all its cracked up to be - I wouldn't know, I only did it once - and lucky me - I got a little girl! :p
No seriously :p , short of going to get some medical help I have no quick fixes for you.
But good luck - and have fun practicing!! :D

Hi,
Have you heard of Francesca Naish & Jenette Roberts books, "The natural way" series? (Natural way to better conception, better pregnancy, better birth & better breast feeding).
They recomend a healthy diet & an extensive vitamin regime (which they now produce themselves, its called the Natural fertility managment vitamin range)
Ive been following their regime and after 2 years of solid trying, and 4 miscarriages within that time, all is going well for us (am nearly 10 weeks now...woo hoo).
The vitamin regime is expensive but I think its worth it.
Do you live in Brisbane?
If you do and your interested let me know and I'll pass on the address of a NFM consultant at Paddington.
Kerrie :)

Hey Rach,
Sex? What the hell is that? Is that what I'm doing wrong?! :p Funny you say that, last time we were trying for Joshua, the doctor actually gave us a strict intercourse schedule which was that we were to have sex twice a day for so many days.. We used to joke to our friends that we had 'doctors orders to do it twice a day' which was all fun and games at first, then surprise surprise, it became a damn chore!!
Oh, and Kerrie,
Congrats to you! hope all goes well! I live in SA, but thanks anyway. I'll see if I can get hold of them books...
Thanks girls,

Heya milkshake-
have you got your cycle back yet? Sometimes it takes a while to get back to normal- I didn't get mine till Felix was 20 months and for a few months after that I wasn't really fertile because my postovulatory period was less than 10 days...
I would also recommend Francesca Naish- her book 'Natural Fertility' has been great for me to work out my cycle and how to get it fertile!
Just started ttc this month so we'll see how we go.
In terms of trying for a girl, I think the idea is to have sex 2-3 days before ovulation- the girly sperm are slower and live longer than the blokes.

Good Luck!!
I too am TTC # 3.. we have two girls already!
Been trying since September 2004 so hopefully won't be too far away!
But I know how it seems to feel as though it 's longer than what it has actually been! I try not to think of falling pregnant... does that makes sense lol?
Sending "baby dust" your way!

hello milkshake,
Keep trying as after 10yrs of being told that I will never conceive again...(severe endometrosis) along came Matthew...
The recipe for a girl is... do not have intercourse 2 to 3 days before you ovulate.
Are you familiar with your cycle? Your mucous?
dothe mucous test first thing in the morning when you wake up.
For a girl have intercourse as long as your mucous is 'egg white' in colour and will easily break when you stretch it between your thumb and finger.
Once it begins to change colour to clear and transparency and it will stretch between your thumb and finger without breaking... STOP! you are about to or have ovulated...this is the recipe for a boy, have intercourse as ofter as your mucuous is transparent and stretchy if you want a boy.
But hey! go ahead and create your little angel, dont worry about its sex...as long as it is healthy.
I have 3 boys, but I but have friends and family members who have carried out the boy/girl recipe and have been successful.
All the best Milkshake! and have fun trying, you will succeed. :)

Hi - after nine months of trying for my second child ( I am not a paitent as some) I had a treatment of acupunture and got pregnant that month! I have since heard many sucess stories from people that have been trying for years to get pregnant and have almost instant sucess after acupuncture. It does hurt a bit, but it is worth it!

i agree with the previous replies about the best time to concieve a girl- male sperm swim fast but dont last as long where as females are slower but more durable. The mucous thing works too. actually having sex every day can turn out to be a chore- apperently it takes about two days to make up a fresh batch of sperm. hope this helps......the practise is always fun :p
hi Milkshake
im in the same situation. i have a 9mth old gorgeous girl and as im 33 would love to have another baby soon. one cos im continuously hearing that it can be dangerous to have kids after the age of 35. Ive also heard that is not as bad as that, and that there are plenty of women over the age of 35 having babies.
i would also like to stay in the routine of have a baby. i dont want to get to a stage of getting tatum out of nappies, only to have to start all over again. Same goes with sleeping. so far she isnt too bad at nights(but she is still being wrapped, but not for long i hope) so i dont want to get used to getting more than 6-8hrs sleep then to have to wake up every 2hrs like i did with her in the early days.
i have been trying for 3mths so far. Im very interested in ready about the timing to have a boy or girl as im hoping for a boy this time. i think what possum had to say was very informative and will have to seduce my hubbie when my moucos (is that how you spell it ) is transparent. or i might go for some accupunture. thats if anyone does it where i live?? its a bit limited when you live in the desert!!
