Hi, I'm thinking about having our kids close together and so far my first pregnancy has been great. I haven't had any sickness or mood swings and am hoping its a good sign for a happy birth.

Just wondering if subesquent pregnancies are going to be the same or if its not something that can be foreseen.

If I decide to have a 2nd baby soon, is it possible that my next pregnancy will be good? And the same for the 3rd and any more?

Thanks in advance
Liz

I had two within two years and they were both so different. One with no M/S and one with terrible M/S, and they both were boys. Make the most of it I say.

I had a relatively easy PG with DD (ie: no m/s, bleeding etc - felt fine right the way throughout, although a little uncomfortable towards the end) and this one is exactly the same so far. I think I might be starting to feel the discomfort a little earlier, but it's certainly nothing I can't handle.

Having said that, some people have utterly different PG's each time, so I guess you don't really know until you're there.

i dont want you to be put off but lack of morning sickness doesnt neccesarily mean a happy birth. i had no m/s with DS but still had a troubled pregnancy and labour. but everyones different. you still could have a happy birth. with this PG i am gettin pretty bad nausea so i dont know why this time i get m/s and last time i didnt.

Mine have been sooo different. First time a breeze. This time m/s, ligament/back, issues, spotting ..... the fun hasn't stopped this pregnancy.

My pregnancies were similar. As in I had terrible m/s with #1 & a little less terrible with #2, but still horrible.

1st pregnancy, awesome, my legs were great, i could still excersise and walk everywhere (i was real young too lol) i only got a few stretchmarks but i didnt care. Labour was 12hrs and had an 8lb 12oz boy :). (forgot to mention the first 3 months were spent curled in a ball holding my stomach and trying not to live in the bathroom to be near the toilet, ahh i had BAD morning sickness) 2nd pregnancy, same thing but i devolped 1 varciose vein over my knee and had the horrid morning sickness as well, labour was 6hrs and i had a 10lb 8oz baby girl :). This pregnant, no morning sickness what so ever, but i am way more moody and hormonal then before, the veisn have spread all over the one leg now, i have the worst cramps and i get migraines. (ill take 3 months of hell in the beginning then this stuff lol)

So no not every pregnancy is the same. There are good and bad to everything

My first pregnancy and second were both quite different. Both were boys. My thrid has been much the same as my second.
My Gp told me that more often than not your first and second pregancies are different, but pregnancies after the second continue along much the same line as the second pregnacy did.
I have found that to be fairly true. But there are always exceptions.
I hope everything remains cruisy for you.

my pregnancys have all been very different, first was a breeze until 30.5 weeks went for routine checkup and was told I had pre-eclampsia.. 3 days later emerg csect to a 2lb 12ounce baby boy who spent 6 weeks in hospital

Second pregnancy I had pregnancy induced hypertension started midway through pregnancy resulted in 35 weeker 5lb 12 ounce

Third pregnancy was in hospital too many times to count, had scans twice a week, had fetal monitoring 2-5 times a week etc etc etc made it to my scheduled csect date tho at 38w6d

All very different :S

my first 2 were the same m/s all the way through, but trouble free, my last bub m/s 10 days, bleeds, subchorionic hematoma, threat of prem labour, problems concerning placenta. oh and breech, had to be turned at 37 weeks......yep very different:D

my first pg was the best!, i had no problems what so ever!, got my birth center baby!!

2nd pg, was bad, was in pain from about 25 weeks, was quite tired, and to top things off i broke my ankle at 30 weeks and then had to move 2 weeks later!! lol, got my birth center baby - just, as we both ended up in hospital - him in the scn, cause it was 19 hours after my water broke, before he was born and thus we had infections!!

3rd pg, well that was fun!! NOT, apart from falling pg with this little guy 4 months after last baby was born - bad idea - not planned either!! i have been stuffed from about 12 weeks, and sick (the the extent were i didnt do anyhting but lay onthe couch most of the day) from 20weeks. then at 29weeks i started having contractions, had a fever over 40, and we did the big rush to hospital, to find out i was severly dehydrated, and had an kidney infection, they then thought i might have had cholastsis (liver problem) so after spending a week in hospital recovering, and then being told i can nolonger have the baby at the birth centre, and had to have 2 weekly checkups with the ob (not the midwife!) and scans, we made it to the 1st appointment at 31 weeks then the next week i wa back in hospital with ruptured membrains!!! so my little man was born 8 weeks early, via emergency c-section, making it 10.5 months differance between ds1 and ds2, rather than 12+ months if he had gone full term!

so now i have 2 babies at home, one of which is a high maintance 11 month old, who is teething, and has become extra clingy since his brother was born! and one who is a preemie, and has mummy worried that he will stop breathing one night, or isnt feeding enough, ect.......

imo - have a gap between kids! the gap between dd and ds1 was great! 2.5 years, at least your body has time to recover! between pgs!!
