Calling out to all the wrapping crazies here, please join me!!

I have to have my prezzies perfect!! The folds, the tape even down to the sticky tag!! I feel I am not normal.... I know that they just get ripped to shreds anyway, but I love the look of a perfectly wrapped prezzie. And I just love wrapping prezzies!!!!!!

My 7 year old tried to help me wrap some, but I really could not watch...... crooked tape, the gift was not sitting straight on the paper, and then she wanted to write on the tag :o :devil6: :devil6: I thanked her for her help and left the rest to do when she went to bed... (meany!)

Anyone else like me??????

Yeah I am the same.......everything has to be perfect...DP has now realised to just hand me the gifts to wrap......lol

My sister is the same also.....

There is nothing wrong with it, just an OCD disorder, but nothing major:laughing:

And here I thought I was the only one!! :o

For my DD's first birthday (yes, that's right - FIRST birthday!!) I searched the ends of the earth for the right colour pink wrapping paper. The presents were all wrapped in either dark pink or dark purple paper, with matching pink or purple silk ribbon!

.....oh, and uh..... I took photos of them all before they were opened & torn to shreads!! :o

My favourite wrapping to do for Christmas is plain white paper (you know the really thick, white shiny stuff?) with beautiful festive adornments! Looks so lovely!!

(I hear Candi Spelling has her own personal gift wrapping room....!:D)

I used to be...but since I've survived 11 children's Christmas and about 20 birthdays...I'm not so particular about it anymore. I'm still fussy about the card and wrapping paper. If I have time, I will spend the time wrapping it perfectly.

My DH is like this. But just to pi$$ everyone off, especially his sister in the UK, everything gets wrapped about 6-10 times, with little cheeky notes every so layer....:devil6: :p

Me on the other hand, just throw them together. But a different story when it comes to unwrapping...can take up to 10mins just to make sure I don't rip the paper!!

Yes I am like my mum, we both have to have the wrap perfect.

Mu DH on the other hand has handed me some awfully wrapped birthday/xmas pressies and I have been in shock - but havent said anything. At least he tried and its the thought that counts of course!

90% of my xmas presents are wrapped now and sitting there. I wrapped them when DD was asleep so she couldnt interupt me so I could get them perfect.:xmas:

I had to laugh at all your post. I thought i was the only anal one! LOL

I have to have them all in identical paper (and hate if they sell out and i need more :banghead:), and same themed tags (if not identical). It has to be straight and if i muck the wrapping process up, i chuck the piece of paper out and start again. I only use the $2 stuff (but thick stuff, not that thin newspapery one), and there's some pretty ones out there! One year i used brown paper and just added pretty curled ribbons.

I let Kenz do some painting on butchers paper the other day to use for them all, but i just can't do it :o. She can use it for her home-made pressies to everyone. I'll do mine my self. :D I can't wait to start! :smiliedance:

Yep yep yep... even to the point that the card and envelope have to be of matching colouring.... something seriously wrong with me....

I am also one of those people that unwraps nicely wrapped gifts and keeps the paper/wrapping if I like it... hence my cupboard full of gift bags and boxes.... lol

  That is me all over!!! I like to put just as much thought into the wrapping as the gifts. This year we are having thick brown paper with faint gold lines through it, matched with beautiful green ribbon. The gold in the wrapping paper matches the card that I am sending out to everyone also.

I drive DF nuts he is happy to use whatever paper is laying around, he will even use left over christmas paper for birthday presents!!!!!..... Aargh it drives me insane:o

 Yes yes yes!!!

I hand paint all of our wrapping paper. For Christmas we do one design for everyone, but for birthdays everybody gets their own design done:o . I also have a huge cupboard full of ribbons- they all have to be 'proper', no plastic rubbish thank you!

Enjoy your wrapping one and all- it is a harmless psychosis:laughing: :D .

I also make our Chrissy cards, and of course the theme of the card ties in with the wrapping etc. etc. etc......

I'm fairly particular for the wrapping of gifts too, but I can't do them in one hit as I start to slacken off a bit, so I like to spread the wrapping out over a few days :p.

This year, DD has the pinky/purply coloured wrap and DS has the blue/red colours. They have the same pattern for their Santa gifts but appropriate colours and a different print and colour for their other gifts.

Everyone else is getting the same wrap that is coming off an 8m roll.

Each year I have a different "theme" - the past few years they've been print & colour coordinated, I might go plain and ribbons/bows next year .... I become obsessed at this time of the year :o

MIL is exactly the same - and it frustrates the cr@p out of me!!! :banghead:

Me too, I go out and pay a fortune for ribbon that most ppl throw away.........everything has to match, otherwise it just doesnt look good enough......

It is called an OCD - OBSESIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDER to be so pedantic with wrapping gifts......

But I am the same, so just letting you all know that you have a problem too...my DP points it out to me all the time......

OMG! I thought it was only me :o.

It takes me so long to wrap one present and I cant stand it, if its not perfect!

I find it SO relaxing wrapping presents :D!

And you have remember to make sure you get totally different wrapping paper for the 'Santa' pressies. For them i usually use the cheap nasty festive print stuff. Santa can't afford to wrap all the presents in flash paper, not when there's millions of them. :D

One year I remember Mum accidentally wrapping our 'Santa' pressies in the same paper as the ones from her....i can't remember what she told us though when we asked why they were the same! I think its about the time we got told the awful truth about Santa.....:(

I just love the process of wrapping, sitting down and getting all excited about xmas.

But I do like a good wrap, one year I found what I considered the "perfect" paper. (just pattern no plain bits) so bought every roll woolies had (only a few left) and used that paper for 3 years straight.

I have always been my family's designated gift wrapper (since I was about 8) to the point that when I moved out of home my parents invited me and dh over for a bbq in mid december and pointed me to my old bedroom filled with the family pressies and multiple rolls of paper and ribbon!

I'm a wrapping addict too.... I buy paper and ribbon for no reason, I have a boxful of the stuff.

I also "theme" my wrapping every Christmas, so all my presents are wrapped the same, and match my Christmas cards. :o

Im SOOOO glad im not the only freak around...
I have a pile of chrissy presents to wrap but I keep holding off cause I love doing it soooo much that I want it to last...(Freak, I know!)

Yesterday I went out and bought new paper and some very pretty ribbon and bows..Cant wait !!

The corners have to be perfect and if the paper gets scrunched.....Well not happy a new piece of paper is needed!

Happy Christmas everyone !!
