Ok so I have finally worked out my GKs for DS1 but I am still really struggling for DS2... Today he leaked straight through the front (not the sides but the front)... he only had it on for a little over an hour before i went to cuddle him and noticed his outfit was wet

I use the new insert combos and like i said they work well for DS1.....

Any tips on how I can get them to work for DS2?? :fingerscrossed:

Maybe it was just a one-off thing??? Maybe the insert was bunched up or moved or something????

I love the new inserts they are heaps trimmer and fit better IMO. They are usually ok cause they are shaped to fit IYKWIM? Maybe try it on him again and see if it does it again.

Sorry, really no help am I? :o

Sorry I really should have mentioned that this wasn't the first time it has done this.... I have been trying to work them out for months!!!

I was really hoping the new inserts would have worked better - as you said they are a much better fit!

Thanks for the reply!

You may have a washing powder/liquid build up or maybe even a nappy rash cream build up ? Otherwise maybe its a problem with the insert that the insert has a build up i would try doing a hot wash to strip them then if it still reoccurs i would contact Sasha at GK's she will be more than happy to help you out.

I think i might email her.... It definitely isn't a fault with the nappy nor the inserts as my DS1 wears the same (we are a one size all nappy share house :D ) nappy and has no dramas what so ever...

It is bizarre..... :detective:

is it over stuffed? or under stuffed?

I use the combo (the hemp sewn together as well as the smaller hemp insert)... Maybe I should try to add another insert... I will give that a go tomorrow!!

Maybe its over stuffed creating a gap that he is weeing through.
So maybe just try the insert alone as in the bits that are sewn together.

Have you tried a microfibre with a hemp ? Cause maybe he wees faster so the hemp isnt sucking it up quick enough so the microfibre will do that then the hemp will soak it from that just make sure the microfibre is against him.

Or have you tried that already ? Sorry just throwing some ideas :o

No  haven't tried that.... Could you just use a microfibre cloth (that you can get from supermarkets/department stores etc) folded in front of the hemp??

Thanks for your ideas allyoo :hugs:

maybe try putting a spongy layer as the top layer of the booster, eg. microfibre on top of hemp. This might allow wee to be absorbed more evenly. I find sometimes that the first wee in a nappy with a smooth firm surface (eg. firm hemp) closest to the skin, runs off a bit because the surface area and texture isn't suited to the wee speed. LOL, who would have thought nappying could be a science?

Lucy you are not wrong! Who would imagine that so much science would be required in stuffing a nappy!

I am going to try a microfibre cloth in there as well tomorrow and see how I go...

Meanwhile, I found the Big W "House and Home" ones perfect. There's also some in the car washing section, they're rolled in a red and black tube, they work great as well!
