Hi All
Just wondering how the march mummies-to-be are going, haven't posted here for a while. The heat down here sorta sucks, but thankfully it's not a constant thing. We are heading to Port Macquarie for Xmas anyway, so there'll be lots of time spent at the beach!
Hope all you pregnancies are going well, hope to hear form some of you soon

HI, I am due in Early march by c secion and have been experiencing the worst effects from the heat this year. I got a rash all over my stomach and just as that was about to go I got a haemaroid (first ever) ouch and just to top it off I got an allergic reaction to the cream and broke out in an itchy rash that I thought was thrush and starting trating it but only made it worse. Welcome to the new year..... My ob has put me on a cortrisone cream to try and clear it up asap but I have to admit that I am a little tentative about using it as I know that everything we take and put on our skin get absorbs and I dont want to hurt my little bambino. Is anyone else having probs like this?

Have you tried Medihoney for the rash? Totally natural product made in Australia from purified honey. Available from chemists for about $10 a tube but a little goes a very long way. Get the one for eczema. It also cleared up my baby's cradle cap and is helping the "dribble rash" under her chin too. It also smells very yummy.

I hear you with the pain of it all..mine were so bad the other week that they bled to the point where I thought it was our little one.....I was given a prescription by my doctor to use...mind u since they have bled, they have reduced in size and are far less painful..ah the joys of it all! I think it is a way of nature getting us prepared for what is to come......Only 8 weeks to go for us and it is becoming very exciting and frightening all in one.....
I have heartburn like you would not believe and it is starting to get the better of me...my husband just rang me and asked if I was in a better mood now that I had gotten to work....grumpy today!

Bec, I had really bad heartburn too, but then I got gestational diabetes and was put on an ultra low fat diet and it cleared up virtually over night. A couple of friends have tried cutting back on fats and it helped them too so it may be worth a go. My heartburn was always worse at night so maybe you can indulge during the day and just eat low fat in the evenings?? Also, the chewable Quik-Eze aren't too bad - a bit like Minties and heaps better than the chalky hard ones. All the best for March.

I had a horrid rash thingy too a few weeks ago, it was unbearably itchy and nothing seemed to be helping. My doc put me on cortisone cream, and within a week it has completely gone! I'm not sure what your rash it like, but I needed something that was going to fix it NOW as the itching was driving me mad, so if all else fails, the cortisone might be worth a try for you

thanks for the advice re the heartburn...my diet has not been all that high in fat...although I am sure that I could cut out the skinny hot chocolates and lately the belgian chocolates that I indulge in since christmas...( they are hand made just can not resist them, got them from adora...a great chocolate shop if anyone is interested)
I also have tried to eat small regular meals, as up until just recently I had been keeping to my 3 meals a day and they were reasonable sizes, i stop eating now too instead of finishing off my plate in order not to waste food...
Hope that you are all doing well...we do not have long to go now! ANyone else as nervous as me...???

Yep, only 8 weeks to go here! No so much nervous this time around, just wondering how I am going to cope with two of them! ;) I keep meaning to get organised and pack my hospital bag, but then I keep telling myself that I've got ages...I don't really, do I?!?! Godd luck with everything, hope this heartburn gets better soon (it'll be great in about 7 weeks time!).

Hi Everyone
I am due March 8th with our first child. So far I've had a really great pregnancy with no real complaints (touch wood) just mild heartburn sometimes and those annoying kicks or punches in the bladder that make me have to run to the loo. I haven't really been feeling nervous about the birth.... until now.....its just hitting me how soon its going to be....only 6 weeks....and thats if I last full term. I have no idea just how painful its going to be, but I feel calmer knowing that at any time I can ask for an epidural if I want one. The main thing I'm scared of is the head coming out, that must KILL....and tearing or being cut.....EEEKK!!! Has anyone tried or been trying perineal massage? Does it help?

Hi Stella
We're due on the same day! :) With regards to perenial massage, I haven't tried it, and my doctor thinks it's a waste of time, but my chiropractor swears by it...so I guess it depends on who you talk to!
I'm glad you've had a trouble-free pregnancy, it makes everything much easier to deal with! My tip would be to focus on the afterwards, i.e. bonding with your baby, thinking about feeding them etc, rather than focussing on the birth. In the scheme of things, the birth takes very little time! But it is a scary thought when you haven't done it before. You'll be great :)
Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy, and chat soon!

My lower abdomen has been getting a little sore and tender, has anyone else experienced this? Its not a constant pain, it just comes sometimes like when I try getting up after lying down or if I bend. I'm guessing its just my ligaments or somthing getting stretched but it's not a sharp sort of pain it's just feels tender...thats the best way to describe it. Any ideas?

Hi All
Just had my 34 week check-up yesterday, and found out that my bubba is breech. She was head-down at the appointment before this one, so she's just being cheeky :) So, my next appointment is in 3 weeks (on Valentine's Day!), and if she is still breech then, I am to be booked in for a caesar around the 24th Feb. And I was so hoping for a VBAC this time! Oh well, as long as we all get through it ok, that's all that matters... Hope you are all going well, not long to go now!

Like I told you on the phone Kez, "it's all good" Look at Harry he was breech and he's as perfect as can be. I know you are disappointed about the VBAC but at least this way we get to meet our new family member sooner. The end is in sight and soon you will have your beautiful bubba in your arms. :)

Hi Everyone
Kristy - I am 34 weeks now, those pains have eased off a little this week so I guess somthing was stretching or the baby was putting pressure on somthing. I guess we are all at that stage of strange aches and pains.
I haven't felt the baby drop yet though....i'm waiting to feel somthing or to notice my belly is lower cos that means i'm one step closer....should it have happened already? Will I suddenly need to run to the bathroom all the time?
I washed all the babys clothes yesterday, still doesn't seem real that i'll be putting them on somthing soon, I can't even imagine what it's going to be like to be holding a baby....thats mine! :D
Has anyone tried perineal massage? Does it really help? I feel like I should do it but I tried it and it feels awful. :(

Hi All
I had another appointment with the doc yesterday and woohoo! She's turned! So I get to have a trial of labour if she doesn't turn breech again before I go into labour. And the doc made another appointment with me in 2 weeks, but said he doesn't expect to see me at it, as he thinks I'll have the bubba before then! It's all getting a bit real now ;)
Hope you are all doing well

Hi All
Just an update for anyone who is still interested! I had another appointment with the doc today, and all is still well, and she is still head down, thank goodness! SO the concensus we came to is to wait until the 15/3, which would make me 41 weeks, and if she hasn't made an apperance by then, I'll be having a LUSCS. We have decided not to have another induction, as the doc believes that's what caused most of the probs last time.
So how is everyone else going?

Wow what a place, I was looking for something else on line and found this site :D
Hello to everybody!
I'm inga, 32, expecting out first baby, my due date is today. I'm so excited that I'm sick and tired of waiting to him to come out, he's already not listening to me !! :D
My pregnancy has been OK other then morning sickness at the beginning, heartburn and backaches, the usual stuff I guess. I've been feeling great from 20th week onwards, just until last weekend I was very mobile and have done lot's of things around the house, then last Sunday I had a strong back and tummy ache, I was so certain that was it, but no, still waiting. On my visit to the doctor yesterday I was very determined to set an induction date for next week but I was told induction is advisable only after 41 weeks. :(
I don't think I've been so impatiant in my life and probably it doesn't help to relex to start the labour.
How are you coping with this waiting business?
Bubbalove - is bubba still head down?

Hi
Yep, still head down, and still in my belly! I'm 4 days overdue now, and have been booked in for a caesar on Tuesday if she doesn't make an appearance before then...fingers crossed she does! I'm not having an induction as that is what my doc believes caused a lot of the problems with my labour with my son. Hope everyone is well, and their babies come on time!

Bubbalove (love the name!) - I'll have fingers crossed for you that buba decides to come out before Tuesday.
I thought that induction was pretty safe but as I'm hearing from more mums previously going through induction they do not want do it again or dotor doesn't recommend. But getting too overdue has its downsides too  I guess just keep praying that it starts naturally. Good luck to everyone!

Hi Ela23, it's very typical I guess, I'm not answering phones at all, my husband is dealing with this side and depending how I feel I may take some calls, it's just too much repeating the same thing although everyone is with the best intensions.
I'm 3rd day overdue today and feel relaxed first time for last 8 days I think, I've had couple of false alarms and it become pretty stressful for me the waiting, so take it easy and enjoy the bum as much as you can :)
good luck
