How to wean a 19 month old

I was wondering how do i go about weaning a 19 month old from a dummy,i also have a four month old that has a dummy and i can just imagine her taking his dummy if i weaned her off it.Any tips/advice is welcome.

I have no tips sorry as im having the same dillema with my 16 month old as my 4 month old also has a dummy and anytime I take hers she goes and claims her sisters :S

Hi, I have twins who are nearly 3 and I just took their dummies away from them this Monday. (cold turkey) Monday night was hard and it took a while for them to go to sleep. I think they made each other more upset too. Then tuesday only one of them was upset. By wednesday neither one seemed too worried. One asked for her dummy tonight but I just told her she doesn't have it anymore and she didn't get upset at all.

I don't know if you could do a similar thing with a 19 month old. But I told my twins that I sent their dummies to Santa for them and he will bring them an extra present for Christmas for being big girls.
