Can someone please put a closure on the circumsion thread.

Its not that i find the subject offensive, its the contribution from a member i find disgusting.

I hear what you are both saying, but I still am not sure it solves anything to close the thread. That would mean you have to close down the whole circumcision section of the board because as soon as someone starts a new thread, he will be back.

I really wish people would not respond to the posts - or that bubhub moderators would delete them.. but perhaps it's not fair to everyone else to close it entirely..?

Just my thoughts. I don't think I'll be going back to the circ threads so it doesn't make any difference to me but maybe others still need a place to discuss it.

i have reported the post as "bad" - see righthand corner of all posts for the symbol. hopefully this member will be banned - they have been nothing but aggressive and abusive since first post. and to wish death upon somebody is completely unacceptable and offensive. This person has a few screws loose I reckon.

Good to see, I agree with everything you all said in your posts but to wish death upon another member is not on. It is great to have a debate on issues but thats going too far.
I agree Cosmic, closing won't solve it, nor will banning as they will just rejoin with a new nic.Removing offensive posts before it gets too widely viewed therefore getting no response is a better option. I have been manager of a forum group before and although this option is hard to police, it certainly works.

I agree - chances are this person will turn up again under another name - i don't know if there are any other options for policing that. Hopefully, with that kind of attitude it won't be too hard to figure out who it is though.

added - I have a feeling that this person probably won't learn anything from being banned either. :rolleyes:

Hi there, actually they (bubhub admin) can blocked this person's IP (internet provider) so this person wouldt be able to get into hubbub at all

You could also email Hubbub, or PM her, or Rach (Boomtish) or jaydensmum should be here soon they are moderators...

And I agree with others, closing the thread is not solving the issue. Because there are "genuine" people who really need some info in regards to circ

Well, I DID see that this person called me a blaspheming sadist who deserves to die even though it was removed. If you're keeping the thread keep all of it.

Receiving death threats is a criminal offense. An email address would have been provided when signing up.

Hiya - we're keeping an eye on it and I'll look at banning the ip address too, although that doesn't stop them logging in at other venues, etc,...

There's always are few nutcases out there, which is why we need to moderate the forum.

Hopefully they'll go away!

If I close the thread down, it starts again with another one, so we just need to keep an eye on anybody making similarly stupid, offensive, etc comments on the site. As soon as you spot anything like this on the site - shoot an email to me and I'll take action.

I have only just caught up on the circ threads... so I missed the actual offending post... I just wanted to send big positive HUGS to everyone involved!!! (and a big thank you to the moderators!!)

circum... breastfeeding... disposables/ cloth ... vacinations... discipline... schooling... etc

they are all HUGE decisions we make for our children... and we make these decisions with as much information as physically possible.. and even when we HAVE that information... we may question our own decisions!!!!

That is the beauty of bubhub... that we can all help each other find out more info- WITHOUT confrontation..

lets hope we can continue to discuss such passionate subjects :) bubhub is SUCH a lifeline!!!!!!!!

I missed the offending posts too but I feel really bad Mummycloud as the person in question sent me a nasty Pm a while ago and I didnt complain to the administration coz I thought to give this person a second chance.

Maybe if I had of complained this would not have happened......... :o sorry mummycloud Big hugs to you. Its actually made me a bit scared to check my personal messages coz I dont want to find any nasty,mean ones in there :(

I, on the other hand, through lack of sleep and hormonal changes, have gotten my knickers in a bunch. I can't belive how tolerant you have ALL been with this nut.

I think I may have egged the situatuion on a bit when I retaliated after an earlier post. I didn't think I would get a death threat...came as a bit of a shock, but I did expect some sort of stupid remark :rolleyes:

This psycho may end up hurting someone if he/she (personaly I doubt it's a woman), isn't stopped. They have HUGE issues, seems very dangerous to me.
I worry because I have mentioned alot about myself in other threads and I wouldn't be hard to track down. :( I now have to sleep with my other eye open too!

Thanks to Hilary and the other moderators for looking out for us and trying to stop idiots like that invading such a wonderful community website!

OMG I can't believe the thread got so nasty! I didn't really go back in after the person who had a go at me came back.
I'm sorry it came to this.
Though (trying to help you feel better mummycloud) I'm sure people who are nasty on an internet site are this way because they're normally more reserved and no-one can see who they are so they can be more 'free' with what they say.
I hope this is the case.

I don't think you have anything to worry about, but I do think your point is really valid. The internet is out there for everyone, and I sometimes think I'm being paranoid by not posting too many personal details but it goes to show that there are some weirdos and it pays to be careful.

This particular weirdo posted so we all knew he was there (it was a he.. and I'm sure he's reading this) but how many others are reading that we never know about?

Hi Mummycloud im very sorry that this person has caused a lot of conflict and anger in the forum. Im sure now that he has been banned, that he will not try and come back. If he does intend to and start up more problems again the matter will be dealt with. Im sure now he has left, that this forum can go on as a friendly and happy place as it has always done before.

Orlandosmum - please try not to blame yourself for this immature and obviously disturbed person's behaviour. As it was said before you were not to have known that this type of thing would occur.

Again im appologetic that this person has upset a lot of you. The other moderators and myself will continue to keep an eye out on all posts and put a stop to further insults, abusive and aggressive nature.

Just for the record, you can send PMs to Hilary (bubhub), me (boomtish), Martha (MarthaM), Naomi (jaydensmum) or Danella (sydneybubhub).

Or you can use the "Report Bad Post" button which is the little upside down give way sign on the far right above your total posts info. This sends an email to all moderators and administrators and so can be actioned really quickly if required.

Don't let a few bad apples spoil the bunch!! :)
