I am going to buy the no-cry sleep solution book by Elizabeth Pantley this weekend and would like to know if there are any other really great books or dvd's out there that you can recommend??

I am definately a no-cry kind of person, not just because it makes me upset when ds cries but also because when he does cry I just want to shut him up any way possible. Ten minutes of him crying and I start to feel like I want to end it for all of us. And I hate feeling like that. He sleeps ok during the day but not so good at night, and that is usually when I have run out of energy and patience.

So any other books etc. you can recommend would be great because I want to try everything I possibly can to avoid doing controlled crying. Why we couldn't be like kangaroos is beyond me? Be great to have a pouch where they stay in there attached to the nipple and then just jump out when they can walk. :p I think evolution stuffed up somewhere along the way.

The Baby Whisperer by Tracy Hogg has some good ideas (especially for older babies) that are gentle and effective no-cry solutions.
But Elizabeth Pantley's book is excellent!

I found happiest baby on the block by Dr Harvey Karp a great book, even though i got it when Emma was just over 3 months (it's meant for the first 3 months, with some strategies starting to be phased out by then).

Emma slept longer and was easier to get down for her naps.:) yay for swaddling, swinging, side, ssshhing and sucking!
