5 mth old

My son will be 5 1/2 months old at xmas and i have absolutely no idea what kind of toys will interest him because he is my first and i'm never around other babies.
Can anyone please give me some suggestions what i can get him???

Garrett is that age at the moment.

He likes his bounce bounce activity gym - and his playgym.

Anything that can go in his mouth he loves, and a new found love of buttons (remotes, mobiles etc)....
Ill keep thinking.

Stuff that makes noise, like old bikkie tins (DS current fave) as bek said anything that will go in his mouth, so textured toys and maybe chilled teething aids. Things that move away and towards bub are fascinating also and help to develop good depth perception.

What a great age!! :D

Perfect opportunity to hit the shops & start stocking up on all those 6m+ toys! I have found a lot of 6m+ labelled toys have been excellent for DD right through til now & I can still see her getting a lot of use out of them to come.

I have found the Fisher Price Peek-a-Blocks to be excellent! We have so many of those & they can all be used with each other. Great value for money! :thumbsup: FP also just released a new toy series - Amazing Animals. DD got the animal train for her 1st birthday (I'm pretty sure that had from 6m+ on it) and it can be used either in motion, or stationary for a younger bub. I would highly recommend this one, it has been awesome!

books books and more books! My DD will be 6 months 3 days after christmas and she is getting a fisherprice laugh and learn discovery home.... (obv for when shes older) fisherprice rollarounds and lots and lots of books! Cant remember what else :S
