How much for Elective C-section

My son was born by emergency c-section back in NZ, this time round I want to elect for c-section (i think?!?!?) so as not to go through all that again. Can anyone tell me the costs involved with this? and is it still elective if it is recommended by your previous midwife that you have c-section?

There's a section here on BubHub about Caesareans - you've posted this in the VBAC section... which stands for "Vaginal Birth After Caesarean." It's all about wanting to vaginally birth, not elect caesareans. :)

Perhaps you might find better information in the C-section part of the forum?
