I was just wondering something about fruit salad.

If I made a fruit salad, do I have to add anything like juice or something?

Everytime I have had fruit salad at parties, there always seems to be some sort of liquid at the bottom.

I have decided to go ahead with a fruit salad instead of a platter for my SIL's engagement party on sunday and I am about to go shopping and dont know what to get.

Also, would you use fresh pineapple or tinned?

Thanks

I've always sprinkled orange juice over it....or you can use passionfruit.

I think the orange juice stops the apples and bananas from going brown.

Usually a squirt of lemon juice or lime juice as this stops the fruit from going brown......

Mainly what it is for...also ppl like to add a juice/syrup for sweetness/flavour.....

As for the pineapple it all depends on your preference....fresh pineapple has a higher acidity, and burns my mouth, so therefore I use tinned if going into a fruit salad.....

Thanks

Any orange juice in particular?

A shelf one or a fresh daily juice one?

I don't think the type of OJ you use really matters - just whatever you prefer.

We always buy the Berri "Australian Fresh" because it has no preservatives and is pulp free.

My grandad used to use a little bit of lemonade - he made the best fruit salad around.
