Hi Everyone,
I was wondering what everyone did for there babies first birthday? My boy is 2 months away from his 1st birthday and I have no idea what to do... I know they dont remember but we still will have picture and video memories of the occasion.
Any ideas would be great.

We had a big barbeque in a park nearby and it was a great afternoon. It marked a real milestone for us and I just felt wonderful that I'd got through that first year. My son just crawled around and got completely filthy! Lots of photos and lots of fun. Actually we just had his 5th birthday party and while he didn't crawl he still got completely filthy! I hope you enjoy the day whatever you decide to do.

We had a BBQ, with close family and friends.. and it was just a balloon theme with a balloon cake....just simple yet colourful and fun for bub...he loved all the balloons everywhere....
Here is a link to my thread with the cake I made to give you some ideas......

We had it at our house, and just set up outside, so I didnt have ppl coming in and out of my house.....it turned out to be a great day, and bub had lots of ppl to show him attention, yet not too many that he felt overwhelmed...

We combined Boof's first birthday with his blessing/ naming day. We held it at my mums as it meant we had more room to do the ceremony as well as everyone being outside in the backyard meant it was a nice day ! We had bbq chickens, cold meats, salads, vegies & nibblies then just had the cake.
It was just a few close friends & our families so it wasnt too overcrowded & was nice & informal.
There wasnt a specific theme i just did everything in pale blue & white we figured we would have something more fancy or a specific theme when he is older & he can choose.
Good luck !

DS isnt one till next weekend but i did it early due to everything else happening this month but i had it at a play center wher ei no he loves to just have fun .. and i no he had a good time thats all i cared about!:)
We had a Teddy Bears Picnic for DD on Saturday. We invited immediate family, a few close friends and friends from my mum's group. All the kids brought their favourite teddy. My brother's GF made a teddy cake (stunning!!) and I made cupcakes with white icing & chocolate paw prints on them. I also made "beary bread" (fairy bread cut into bear shapes with a cookie cutter) and had bear lollibags with a few tiny teddies, honeycomb & a few other treats mainly for the parents!!lol
It was soooo relaxing, people played tennis, the kids went in the wading pool there and it was a lovely day.
P.S. There are good website around with kids birthday ideas. I got my food ideas from a good teddy bears picnic theme one!

My dd turns 1 tomorrow (v exciting) and we are having a combined birthday party and naming ceremony in the backyard. We are just doing afternoon tea with a cake.
Ceremony will start at around 2.30 and then she can run around and get attention from everyone.
