We have used a ringsling for MJ alot, she goes in & out of stages where she loves it. Its a love/hate relationship.
Anyway, does anyone elses toddler sleep in the sling & how? MJ refuses to go to sleep in her sling, & if i try to put her in it once she is asleep it always ends in tears :gloomy:
So how, if at all, do you sling your toddler for sleeps?

Hi Rainbow Brite,
I've never used a ring sling, so I'm not sure what positions they can be worn in.
But when myDD was around your DD's age, I used to put her in a back carrier and have her quite high in in, she she would lean on my back/shoulder and sleep quite comfortably that way. (You need to have it higher/tighter that you would normally though, so they don't flop backwards).
I'm not sure if you can do that with a ring sling or not?
Hope you can work something out :fingerscrossed:

I don't use our ring sling that often (DD is very heavy); I normally save it for when we're out and DD is getting stroppy in her pram and won't sleep.
I put her on my hip (sort of), but also kinda to the front. She ends up resting her head on my shoulder/nuzzles into my neck/chest, and falls alseep. I try to trap her arm in there too, so that she feels more secure.
Mind you, when she's cranky at home, that's the same position she's in when she falls asleep on me... (except when we're at home, I'm sitting down and not walking around). I think that may have a reason to do with why DD falls asleep fairly easily in the sling.
She's almost 16 months... so a bit younger than MJ...
I don't have any advice, just thought I'd offer you a response...:o

Thanks for the replies, just found them. I might have to just have her up higher on me so she can rest her head or nuzzle. Apparently the sling can be worn on my back, i've never done it though. Will have to try one day
Hi RB, I know Kailah is a little ways off a toddler but I put her in one of my wraps and tuck her head in and legs wrapped around me all tucked in and she just goes off. If she is over tired it may just take a little firm hand to hold her head there for a min and she is off. She loves it.
I don't know how MJ would go in it thought, as she is bigger than Kailah.
But try something like that in the ring sling maybe??
You should try one of Lunar's wraps. Best fing ever, Baden loves it and I love it and we get lots of fond looks coz we look so durn cute LOL

I did with dd2 until she was over 2 but as she stopped napping full stop long before this no tips on how to get her to sleep in one, lol. (only don't use it anymore due to pg and wanting her to be possessive of it when baby comes).
