Here is some tips from those of us that have been there before...
the ordinary bouncer/rocker being the first, the other thing that was discussed yesterday would have to be the bonds wondersuits.

Definately agree with the rocker, and wondersuits, I actually bought 2 rockers, lol, I got one on ebay, and then realised it wasnt the one I was after, then went and got another after that from ebay..
1st one: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Mothers-Choice-Baby-Bouncer-Rocker-Excellent-Cond_W0QQitemZ320049286158QQihZ011QQcategoryZ66690 QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

If anyone wants the first one, they are welcome to it, for the price of post (if I can post it), or, I will be in Melbourne for new years and can take it from there..
There is nothing wrong with it, its just not the one I wanted..
I also agree with the wire frame/ crochet ones, they are great, and put bubs against a lounge, and they can kick themselves!

ok this might be a silly thing but i had to stock up on terry nappies for spew rags as i had a very spewy baby so i would always have a nappie over my shoulder..
also my rocker, oh and my rocking chair in the nursery as we used it all the time for ds as he had reflux baby and would be sitting most of the night hehe....

There were alot of things that I couldn't have lived with out for my son. First of all were the terry cloth nappies, only used for mopping up spew and also to use as a bub under bubs neck so that I didnt end up with milk everywhere! And also a towel for the other booby that used to spray when feeding as well!.. Myself and Df had our own names for these cloth nappies, they were called the "D.R." - "Driving Rags".. *L* A little naughty, but funny as!.. DF's Invention of course!.
My little boy lived in his Bonds wondersuits as well, especially the ones that have the little extra piece of material that stop bubs from scratching their face.
I had a manual breast pump that I used to syphon some of the milk out to make it more comfortable otherwise my boobs felt like they were burning and were going to explode!.. I saved the milk and put it into other bottles for feeding later.
I also had a wonderful waist high bath that was in a stand and on top of that was a flip top change table. Very handy for changing bubs on after the bath, and easy to empty as well. It was a god send, and I still have it and will use it for this baby.
Also some of them Bra Extenders, very useful when you need an extra 5 cms around ya boobies for comfort!.
Definitely of course the Booby Pads, they were great, but finding a good type that didnt cost the earth were few and far between. I went through a fair few boxes! I saw the material ones on ebay and for some reason I didnt think they would be all that absorbent..
And also the best bottom / Nappy Rash cream I was swear by is using SUDOCREM. My son had extremely sensitive skin, and no other cream would do any good other than sudocrem. It was brilliant! And I will definitely be using it for this bubba!..
Hmm... I think that's it..! *L* I may add more later!

I use fabric nursing pads, for during the pg, when they start to leak, I think they were tommy tippy brand, and they are fine for once breastfeeding is established, but the first few weeks after bubs is born, I needed the disposable ones.
Also, yes that sudocream was awsome

Rocker/bouncer (older 2 used a bouncer
Jolly Jumper (not good for reflux babies though, lol)
Microwave steriliser
Kick n play piano - prop them up on pillows in their cot and let them go for it.
A tip for when they migrate to the highchair.....stick some pictures onto contact paper then stick them to the tray.....family photos, animals cars (for boys)....keeps them entertained.

Angel kisses you gave me an idea, making some placemats for the table for older children. All with pictures they like of nanny, wiggles, mum and bobby builder(as Ds1 calls him). I have a laminate machine here and all you have to do is wipe it down. You can get cold laminate sheets if you don't have a machine.
Keep one at nannies for eating time.

My mum made laminated stuff for us kids and I still remember them. When we were small they were on the wall where we played and slept, then they moved to the caravan table and cupboards when we were toddlers travelling round Aust.
I've started making them for Mame already. Mum coloured in Disney characters. I got some characters on a picnic sheet and cut them out, my bestie uses the huggies box pics.

Yes the rockers!
Isabella spent alot of time in it. She loved it.
Other baby essential thing for me - baby play gyms. You know the mats they lie on with the toys that hang over them.
Other thing, a musical mobile for the cot.
Bath ring for the bath when they get older.
Beanies for the winter - and lots of them. Isabella had so so so many.
Singlets that do up in the crutch area. Best things. Isabella still wears them. It keeps their backs warm.
