After a long agonizing year of talking, thinking worrying and procrastinating. My Dh and I are finally starting what I dearly hope will be our first and only donor cycle. I am incredibly fortunate that my youngest sister has offered to be our donor, its been a difficult and emotional decision for us to make as a family but were ready, I think ! its a bit scary.
I've learn't so much from reading about the experiences of the brave women on this and other forums so I hope I can do the same for someone else out there.
Ive been on the pill for two weeks now, waiting for my sister to get her period, I cant believe its actually happening.
Oh I so hope this works.

Hi B

I remember reading your thread when I first joined and how fast time goes, wishing you luck with the birth, I think your on AED so I'll pop and see how your going.

See Diane, even when you find your donor a final cycle can work, B would have been one of the very first matches and next week will be a mum

best of luck to all those trying one last time

Thank you everyone for all your good wishes.
Our final counseling session went well, unfortunately during my sisters nursing interview she was told to follow a different protocol to the one I was, we could've continued but it would have meant that EPU was very close to Christmas day, which would be really difficult.
So before we've even started were finished.
We'll try again in January, hope we can all look forward to BFP's in the new year.
I will stay around and cheer everyone else on from the sidelines.

Hi Everyone
I thought I would post an update to my thread, Ive been so slack.
My sister and I were finally able to start our cycle this past month and its all over now but for the dreaded TWW.
I am so grateful to my sister for giving me this chance and she did amazingly well especially considering the terrible heat we've been experiencing in Sydney and not so fabulous timing for her. Much to my great relief she had no problems with the injections and EPU, just some bloating and discomfort after the trigger injection and cramping and tiredness after EPU.

She gave us 10 eggs, 9 were suitable for ICSI and when wonderfully 8 fertilized we were so excited but unfortunately by day 3 only two had reached 7 cells and were quite heavily fragmented. I was devastated because this was similar to my experience with my own eggs and there was a real possibility that there would be nothing to transfer.
But on day 5, 3 little troopers came through for us and had developed into blastocysts far better than I had ever had with my own eggs.We were able to transfer 2.

Our blood test is on the 12/3 just 9 LONG days to go, patience has never been something Ive been good at, I was always the kid who sneakily tried to guess what my Christmas presents were. I really wish an IVF cycle came with a short medicated coma to ease us through.
