Who Feels Huge?

I know I do and I'm only 6 weeks:eek: Hate to think how I'm going to feel in another 6 weeks time!

Is anyone conciously watching their weight? or
Are you 'eating for two"?

I know I'm watching my weight this time round after gaining 20 kilos with my first and losing it all in 4 mths and gaining 17 kilos with my second and still trying to lose it 3 yrs later

I know how you feel! If it wasnt so hot and humid i think i would feel a little better about myself!Oh the weather is dreadful today, i feel sweaty and my shorts are sticking to me.
Yes i am very scared of putting on too much weight this time. I still have about 10kg's to lose from last pregnancy (yes that was also 3 yrs ago:thumbsdown: )it has been so hard to shift! And i do try which is even more frustrating. Well atleast we can support each other through this:)

Exactly Shells!

Thats what I'm hoping. That we can all support each other in gaining whatever weight we want without being judged for gaining too much or not enough.

I know I only want to gain 12kilos at the most.

So, c'mon ladies what are we all hoping to gain?

Hi Chicco,

 I am your culprit. I am eating for three. As i am breastfeeding Ria, so i think that i should eat whenever i am hungry. But i think i am eating too much.

At Ria's time, i gained 12 kgs and have 3 kgs to go and i am having a feeling that i have gained more. The problem is that i am 10 kgs overweight already so i dont want to plie up on kilos which are so hard to lose.

Please join me in your group.

Love.

Me too, already. The only thing that makes my m/s feel better is to eat something, so i am eating... a lot!

I put on a heap of weight with both of mine, but after DD managed to loose it all and i was smaller than ever, until the implanon

Anyway i'm not too fussed really, cause i KNOW i can loose it again if i put my mind to it :fingerscrossed:

So even though i know i will get to the point where i will hate looking in the mirror, i'm trying not to think about it oo much, right now!

I am with you after DD I lost it but then put it all back on, same with ds I lost until 4 mnths after and then stacked it on..

I am actually at the gym trying to lose the 20 odd kilos I put on in 2 years. I am very ahnds on with the kids b/f and still had extra weight.. I am still at the gym but being preggars I lost weight it was after I gave birth.. So I am not fussed this time.

priya- I too am b/f and feeling extremely tired and hungry, it is a lot harder than just being pregnant. You have to have enough for you the baby and your toddler.

I would rather be happy and a bit over wieght than nasty and stick thin,,... I know people like this!

I am almost 6 weeks and I feel huge. My belt is getting a little looser each day.
DF and mum were sitting in the waiting room when I went to my u/s yesterday whilst I was chatting to the receptionist and I heard DF make a comment to my mum that my stomach looks rounder and he did the hand gesture too! and my mum agreed!!!! So after we found out I was only 5 wks 4 days, I said to DF.. "So you think im FAT do you???"

Im putting it down to extreme bloating/water retention. I wont be in any hurry to lose the weight once bub arrives, Ill see how I go losing it naturally running around after bub and bf'ding.

Welcome Ladies:wave:

I actually hate how they put a "How much your supposed to gain" while your pregnant. I think as long as your happy with yourself and know that what ever extra weight you do gain you can lose later and bubs is nice and healthy thats the main thing!

When I was pregnant with my daughter I was constantly being "told off" by OB by how rapidly I was gaining weight. It just made me feel awful and made me stress out which just added to the weight gain (emotional eater:o )

So now I can't help but stress when I gain the slightest amount of weight - but I'm smacking myself out of it

Doesn't help when hubby doesn't like the extra wobbly bits that seem to appear!

Are your hubbys/partners supportive of your extra wobbly bits? or do they constantly remind you of how you used to look before you had kids?

I'm really trying to focus on eating healthy foods - more veggies and fruit, nuts and seeds etc rather than calorie counting. I'm avoiding standing on the scales and I'm trying my best to eat a balanced diet and avoid chemicals and manufactured food.

If I end up gaining too much weight, I'll just have to work it off once the baby arrives. :)

Thats a good attitude little bean!I am doing the exact same thing - i have been eating real well havent craved for junk food yet and trying to exercise regularly.

I think i was about to have a mini breakdown yesterday at the shops - i was trying on clothes to take away on holidays and i just couldnt find anything and felt like i had already gained 10 pounds - which i havent!but i had to talk myself into not getting upset or anxious about it all!

Chicco25
17-11-2006, 11:42 AM
ughhhh, clothes are the worst! I was the same when I needed to get something to wear for Melbourne Cup - I was only 4 weeks but felt like my waist had expanded overnight, I just felt huuuuuuuuuugggggggggggggeeeeeeeeeeee, lol

I've been trying to eat healthy, but it's just trying to eat something that doesn't make me feel like :barf:

Joys of pregnancy,lol

Was supposed to start my healthy eating regime today, but got sidetracked this morning with ms - so piece of toast with vegemite  Was also going to start going for a walk when hubby got home, but he's training all day today and won't be back till late - so that's out the window!

Other than that, noticing that I'm getting really fluid retentive - which is even more annoying! Was considering an aqua class for preg women but I don't have the guts to go on my own - Anyone interested? :o

Weighed my self this morning and I have gained the 2 kilos I previously lost before I found out I was pregnant, so now I'm just p****d.

Thats my whinge for today - hopefully it gets better!

Hey Michelle,

Still feeling blah, especially with ms not letting up. Still bloated but just getting used to the fact that I'm actually pregnant and I have every right to be bloated.

Other than that feeling the tightening around the waist in most my skirts, and just accepting it.

How is everyone else doing? and hope to hear from ya soon.

I feel fat!

My clothes already feel tight, i have m/s and i am bloated cause i have been constipated, so i guess it's fair enough to feel pretty meh!

Nothing fits me already :crying:

Might have to buy maternity clothes early this time!

Chicco25
27-11-2006, 05:12 PM
I'm the same, but I don't want to fork out the money for maternity clothes now when I know I will probably be too big for them later. But I don't think I will have a choice - bigger sizes can only take you so far!

Im really scared coz with DS I put on 30kg.....excess kg!! It took me months n months to lose it (although it came off pretty quickly).

Ive been going to the gym alot lately to tone up (thats out the window now) but I have to cancel my gym membership because its so expensive and I talked DF into the idea of me seeing an OB which also is expensive. So bye bye gym.........

Im hoping to put on no more than 8kg....if it happens it happens tho!

I've noticed over the past week that I have gained some weight not even knowing how  . I know your not suppose to diet while your pregnant and I 'm not going to do that, but I'm going to cut out some of things in my diet that I don't think I need eg - sugar, whits carbs that sort of stuff. Just for the next 4 weeks so I can start my 2nd trimester a little healthier than when I started this one.

So feeling very H U G E

Im gonna try and consciously eat really healthy this pregnancy. I did last time at the start and had bad m/s so I lost 6kgs to start but I piled it on in the last trimester.

I dont want that this time. Im still trying to lose the excess. Im gonna walk heaps and eat healthy and if I stray I will look at my post preg FATTY piccies!!!

I also have been heaps healthier than usual coz I think that with the m/s theres just so many things I cant eat because they r sickening to me!

I've just given up! If I gain 10 kilos then great but if I gain 20 kilos like I did the other 2 times then so bloody be it. Don't care what hubby thinks, really don't care what anyone thinks as long as bubs is healthy then thats the main thing.

I'm 25 I will have plenty of time to lose it

P.S - I think I've already lost it

Here a question:

Is it possible to eat healthy and exercise during pregnancy and end up thinner than you started after child birth?

The reason I ask is I hate my current weight and dont wanna be bigger when next bub is born so if I wondered if you could end up skinnier by eating healthier and heaps of safe pregnancy exercise.

Was thinking of going to Pilates class so i dont have a saggy belly at the end either.

mumma_jessy
05-12-2006, 09:09 AM
Hmmm, thats a tough one.

I guess it is possible, but generally you put on weight when you are pregnant for a reason, and that is to store fat for when you are breast feeding, so that you have plenty to give when you are needing to give all your nutrients to your baby.

That way your body survives off the fat you have stored when you are giving your nutrients to the baby.

So like i said i guess it is possible, if you hardly eat! But not reccommended!

I made the mistake of going on a diet when i first had my DD, and i had huge supply issues and the Dr thinks thats why, i lost over 10kgs in 2 weeks (not healthy!)

DramaQueen
05-12-2006, 09:21 AM
My OB told me of a story of another patient of hers that lived a pretty "high life" earnt heaps of money and stuff. She was slightly overweight before falling pg. When she found out she was pg she started eating properly and exercising regularly and apparently lost 35kgs

Not sure if it is true or not or whether she was just trying to tell me something. :o :detective:

JorBai
05-12-2006, 09:39 AM
Wow thats really interesting DQ... thats all i really wanna do is just eat healthy and exercise so I dont end up 10kgs heavier than my pre preg weight like what happened after Bailey was born. I guess I just dont want to be 20kgs heavier when next bub is born.

Oh my goodness Jessy- I cant believe you lost 10kgs in 2 weeks:eek: Did you just not eat? I have not been eating that well this last 2 weeks so DH made me eat a large dinner last night. He said he is worried I dont eat enough food. He is so right. Yesterday I ate No breakfast, a cheese sandwich for lunch and that was it. At dinner I just picked at my meal and he made me sit there till I finished and got me some fruit for dessert:laughing: Im gonna start eating more. I think thats why Im not loosing weight, coz I dont eat properly so my metabolism is stuffed:(

Chicco25
05-12-2006, 10:32 AM
It's amazing how we stress more about our weight when we're pregnant than when we're not pregnant.

I had been stressing heaps because I'm still carrying 10 kilos of extra weight from my son, and I know I'll gain heaps of weight like I did with the other 2 (20kilos and 17 kilos) . But I was stressing so much that I was doing what you were doing BM, and hardley eating anything, and now I don't care its the one time in my life that I don't get judged for eating like a horse

I do try to eat healthy, but if I crave something naughty I generally eat it - so don't stress guys there is heaps of that to do afterwards

Anita

I know some1 who lost weight while pregnant.

When she found out she started eating really healthy (She had a lot of weight to lose) and at 40weeks she weighed 7kg less than when she got pregnant and she had a very healthy 4kg baby!

I think that this is only possible if u have an extreme amount of weight to lose.

Just found this thread and I have to say again due to my terrible morning sickness I have lost 12kgs. Not the best but every pregnancy I loose weight it falls off, something about not eating and only eating fruit. Oh well!!
