Tummy tight, Head light?

Hi lady doctors.....

My tummy goes hard and tight every now and then, and also my head is really light and it feels like the room is lurching when I lay down even.

Is my tummy funny because bubs is movin about? I'm 14 weeks preggers....

Also is the head lightness normal and okay?

It might be the baby moving position or it could be some braxton hicks contractions. When you have braxton hicks they contract then release making your tummy hard then soft. With the light headness its normal to get that. Its because all the hormones are rushing through your body. If you are concerned about it though i would just ask your doctor or midwive the next time that you see them.

I'm 16 weeks and I had the same head lightness as you. Thought I might be iron deficient, so I had a blood test to check, and it was borderline. So I started taking Spatone which is a natural iron supplement available from the chemist. It's safe for pregnancy, but I would get the blood test if the light headedness is bothering you - just to be sure. The supplement helped me, as I don't like to eat meat much anymore.

The hard tight tummy sounds like braxton hicks to me, some women are more aware of it than others.

Thanks for the advice. I might try some iron tablets and see if they help! I was off meat for a while so I am proably low!

Really, Braxton Hicks? I didnt think they started until past week 20???? Am I insane? LOL
