My son is turning 8 in December and has decided on a pirate party theme (more pirates of the carribean) so I am looking for ideas.

I am thinking of hiring a jumping castle but am a bit worried that 15 boys might be too wild for that and someone might get injured.

I am having the party at home as a lot of parents just leave their children so I feel i can control things better at home then in a park.

Any suggestions of games or anything to keep them entertained for 2 hours:eek: I did enquire about a magician but they are too expensive.

We are having face painting.

Mamaduke as you throw legendary parties, please help me:party:

I went to am lae 18th and they had one of those adult castles - why not try one of them?

I would have a treasure hunt of course!!!

Hey there :wave:

Im in the middle of organising my sons 4th Birthday (his having a jungle theme) so have been looking at lots of books for inspiration.

For a Pirate theme...

* You could do tresure Island map style invitations
* Instead of party hats, give each person a bandana and eye patch
* For food maybe Pirate pizza's, with a cheese X
* Fruit salad kebabs
* Jelly cups - with hidden tressure

For Games what about:

* Tressure Hunt (wrap the gifts and get each person to come back to the group to wait for each child to find and return with a gift then all open together)

* Pin the Eye Patch on the Pirate

* Bobbing for apples

It's all I can think of right now.. Im planning on having a few extra games up my sleeve to keep em all busy for my sons B'day like pass the parcel..dont know if thats too young for an 8 year old..?

For my DSS 10th party we had

Water bomb fight (might not be really ok now with water probs) wat about making them into flour boys love getting dirty.
we had a permission form for the parents to make sure they knew they would be dirty and wet when going home.
Treasure hunt they all get a map and have to work in a group like surviver to find the treasure. Prizes on the way too.
Donuts from the clothes line hands behind the back and first to eat wins.
Pinyahta you can make it with the kids the weeks before from papper mashay over a balloon, and then make it look like a pirate.
Good Luck

aww i found this site and they have the most gorgeous skull and cross bone/pirate type party stuff

http://www.fizzyparties.com.au

Look under party packs and goodie bags also some great novelty items......very cute!

I like the idea of the treasure hunt idea, we just took my preschoolers to the Maritime museum in sydney and they had a whole pirate ship thing happening.....we got the kids to dress up and i bought in my Treasure chest toy box that i got from Ikea(very cute red chest with lock and key etc) so they could use it for their booty!

We also got them to make up pirate names for themselves, plus pirate hats and some eye patches.

Gd luck with it should be fun!

Well my ds handed out his invites this morning. I said now lets be discreet about it as we don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Well he was about as subtle as a meat axe:banghead: :rolleyes:

Yelling out across the playground x I have an invitation for you. I wanted to do it after school but no we had to do it this way. Anyway a little boy new to the school asked if he could come and of course I said yes what is another little boy that makes 18 boys now:eek: I could never refuse a child though, I can't stand hurting anyone's feelings.

Wish me luck girls as I am going to need it:laughing:
