After everyone loving them soooo much on here and me finally getting my hands on 2 of them a while back...I just don't get it!

They take 2 days to dry and one wee and they are all soaked thru?? They seem to hold sooo much water in them to take 2 days to dry yet when they are on they saturate thru everything! They are AIO's so they don't need covers do they?

If i can't sort my probs out i might just have to part with them!!:crying:

They soak through? Probably a detergent build-up. You need to do a strip wash. Very hot water, no detergent. You can just put it on "rinse" cycle a few times, you'll notice suds coming up after a spin (this confirms that the fleece had detergent buildup). Keep rinsing until no suds appear.

And yeah they take longer to dry than fitteds or pockets, but that's because they're AIO's. The downside is they take longer to dry, but the upside is no cover is required.

So in conclusion, you need to do a strip wash.

Don't get me wrong, I am very happy with my HB's. This is only my own experience the HB AIO takes longer to dry than BB Bamboo.

that suprises me babytoo - I have several honeyboys and can easily say that they have never leaked (including overnight- although personally I do add one of Lesley's boosters for over night)

first question - did you get an AIO??? is it fleece on the outside??

second question- did you get it from Lesley at Cherubs Kiss?? or ebay?? if you got it from Lesley - I would email her about your problems .. she is very helpful..

third question - what the HECK are you doing with the wash??? - I live in brissie and it takes a max of one day (morning to afternoon) for mine to dry .. esp in summer!!!! admittedly they DO take longer than pockets ... but all AIOs do .. and the more absorbant the nappy .. the more washing water they also absorb... - is your machine's spin cycle ok???

hope that helps - get back to me ..
as I said .. the best thing to do might be to email Lesley

Thanks Jen...I knew you would pop in here! I think I will email Lesley....I just don't get it!

I hope its an AIO....its fleece on the outside. They just always feel damp to me when I put them on the line. I washed on Sunday morning and left them out until this morning! So, 2 full 24 hours. eekkkk!

They are just wet or damp right thru and make her clothes all damp too. Not just around the legs in fact not even at the legs...its on the bottom!

The drying time doesnt seem to bother me toooo much as my Swaddlebees take about the same time though slightly less. I can live with the drying time but I just get frustrated that they take so long to dry and I put them on and they are wet in 5 mins!!

ahh yes see this is the only down side to AIO's. I love my HB's but like you babytoo 2 days of drying via clothes line or 5 or so hours in a clothes dryer  for 4hours maximum wear kinda gets frustrating especially when they're so darn cute.

Dakota was wearing her HB's today, may i add that she poo'ed in all three today which was quite unusual seeing asthough she does one poo a day religiously but not today of all day  anyhoo back to what i was saying :ecomcity: the fleece was somewhat on the dampish side but i think thats only because she did a poo aswell. Other times the fleece has never been damp so maybe it's best to get on to Lesley about it.

I bought the pattern and thought "way too many layers to dry". So I made HB pockets instead. The look of the HB but the flexability of a pocket

oh I just thought of something else babytoo ...

when are you checking the nappies ?? (on the line???) ... if you are waiting till near dark .. you will find that they are .. indeed damp again ... if you get them off the line when they are still in the sun .. you should find them dry??? does that make sense??? lol

Hey babytoo...

I think you are used to using and loving pockets, so an AIO will possibly frustrate you a tad regardless of the brand! pockets are super fast drying.

You've had lots of good advice here, so all I can add is that mine take, on a nice Melbourne day, about 4 or 5 hours to dry - comparable with most of my fitteds with sewn in boosters - and Melbourne warm is nothing like QLD warm! Make sure when you hang it in the sun, you get the inner of the nappy to the sun, rather than the fleece to the sun, as it's so moisture repellent, it will slow down drying.

Re. the dampness of the nappy when it's used. Could be a compression problem - tight clothes, car seats, prams...? Also, keep in mind that moisture can evaporate out of nappies with fleece or wool covers, hence they may feel damp on the outside, but that's possible evaporation which is a good thing - unless it's evaporating because the nappy is tooooo wet and needs to be changed!! That's something I really love about HBs, that they have quality fleece outer, which means they are heaps more breathable than pul covers.

Another thing I love about the HB's is what KarniF00l reminded me of - the HB AIOs are pretty impressive at holding poos in, which I can't say about all pocket or AIO nappies.

Hope you find a solution, :fingerscrossed: but if not, I suspect there would be lots of willing takers if you want to sell them and get them off your hands :smiliedance: - they are hot property! ;)

Lucy i can't get over the fact that yours take 4 - 5 hours to dry on a warm Melbourne day, that's awesome. My HB's still take a day :banghead: in the sun on a warm day or 2 days on an average day.

Are yours from Cherub's or elsewhere ?

If I get them out before 10, they are dry by 3.

Yep, HoneyBoys. Actually, most of my nappies (except 100% bamboo ones) dry within 4-5 hours in the sun here.

Winter and cooler days like today are a different story!
