Princess Cake

My DD has just informed me she wants a princess cake for her 4th Bday. I have been looking for images etc on the web but can't find any. Has anyone made a princess cake? Could you tell me how I should go about it please.

I have a birthday cake book that has a princess crown in it?? Or is she after one of the cake that you put a Barbie in the middle of the cake skirt???

ooooooo chub chub i love the idea of a princess crown!! you could even put the childs name on it. how gorgeous!!

I just pulled out the recipe book and the crown doesn't look to hard to construct! All you need is two round cakes....one for the base and one to cut up to construct the top of the crown! It is v cute.

what about if you just decorated a normal round cake in pretty "princess" colours and then stuck some little princess dolls or something on top???

im so annoyed.. my girls just turned 3 and 1 and i hadnt even thought of a princess cake. dd#1 wanted a pony(my little pony) and dd#2 got a butterfly. both were cute ofcourse but the crown wouldve been the best! especially coz dd#1 tells me daily she is princess mikaelah. :laughing: *and yes she acts like one too!*

This is what I did for DD's 3rd birthday Fairy cake. I bought some edible glitter and ready made flowers from a cake decorating shop (it's in Balcatta for the Perthies), so the cake also glittered and I didn't have to waste time trying to make flowers that looked like they should.
