has anyones baby had this.? i find it very interesting... my DS head is quite out of shape and has also been described as having an overactive nervous system. im wondering if this has anything to do with his sleep issues.

its worth reading

"We know today, the baby's effort is at least 50% of the required driving force. This cooperation during the birth is fundamental, because this is the child's first active effort in life. The baby needs to do this work or else it will lack an essential proactive effort required for the beginning of life. In addition, the head (home of the brain and central nervous system) and the back (home of the spinal chord along with the nervous system) are intensively massaged, and thus receive strong impulses which activate the entire nervous system. These important actions are bypassed with a planned cesarean section without contractions"

No. I've had 3 caesars and my babies all had perfect heads. I have often heard of a possible link between vacuum-extraction or difficult forceps delivery in a vaginal delivery causing problems though.

Sounds a bit biased to me. Is it backed up by any resarch ? Sorry I haven't got time right now to read the link - I'll get back to it later hopefully :)

hmm interesting .. I wonder if that is only relevant to elective c-sections .. JAck was s c-s .. but trust me .. he was well and truly 'massaged' by contractions ..

interesting though ... (I would like some posts here from mums who have had elec c-sections??? any issues they may have had??)

Mine were elective - I've never had a contraction. :D
