Sharp pains down low?

Hi a question for all BTDT mums

With 60 days till my due date I have started getting sharp pains (not the braxton hicks type tightenings) down very low,in fact at times it feels like the pains go right into my vagina :eek: (sorry TMI) also my boobs seem to be leaking an awful lot of the yellow and clear liquid (colostrum?)

Is this a normal part of my body preparing for labour etc.?

I do have my weekly appointment on Thursday but if anyone knows that this is "normal" I'd really like to know!!!!!! :)

I'm due in dec too, but with my third babe. I have been getting odd pains-some are like a tightening of muscles, possibly ligaments, down low. I've had the odd pain that feels as though my babe is trying to push it's way out-really painful in my vagina/cervix. I'm just assuming all is well as babe is very active and my midwife is not too concerned either. Maybe baby is just pushing into a tight spot?
As to the colostrum- I have had to start using cloth breastpads as I find my leaking is becoming obvious now. My first pregnancy I actually 'ran' colostrum from 20 weeks and was changing breastpads daily! When I was induced and they inserted the drip in my arm, I was pouring colostrum out-enough for the midwife to ask if I had spilt my glass of water on myself. I was soaked. My son was a huge feeder (long feeds and often) so I assume my body knew this was to be the case and prepared for it in advance. My 2nd pregnancy I only leaked a small amount in the last few weeks and as it turned out my daughter was a small feeder(short feeds and not all that often). I'm guessing this time around I'll have a good feeder in between my first two.
Take heart that you will have no problems with milk production when baby arrives and this in turn will make learning to breastfeed that much easier for you!

Honestly sometimes I can't sit down from the pain.But I'm glad that all this leaking could mean a good milk supply.One less worry when Ivy gets here!!!!

Hi,
I am pregnant with number 6 and I have experienced the sharp pains in the vagina with all of them towards the end. I was always told it is normal. Saying it is normal really does not stop the fact that they really hurt tho.

I too had exactly the same pains with DD number 2. :(

I went to the hospital as I was so concerned and after monitoring me and giving an examination they just told me it was a pain caused by DD being on a nerve - I then got the pain on and off for the last 4wks.

It does sound normal however if you have any concerns see your doctor or hospital to ease your mind.

The leakage is very normal.
