DS's First Birthday - Need Ideas!

Hi! I have just under 2 months until my DS's first birthday and we're going to make it a BIG celebration with family and friends.

We would like to hold it at our place, or at a park and have a barbecue.

I'm just wondering - for a first birthday do you play games? I'm counting on some of the mothers group ladies to come along with their bubbas.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

If there are lots of older kids, then I would plan party games.

For DD's 1st b'day next month, we are going to hire some great outdoors toys from a toy library for the kids to play on. That will keep the kids busy. We are only having an afternoon tea as lunch time is far too hot up here in summer.

I would only do games if there are other kids there that are of the age to play games, unless you want to have games for the adults, that could be fun, for DS first birthday I just had family over and we just have a arvo tea,

dd is turning one next month we are having a bbq at a park where there is swings and slides and stuff and there is a big area to play with balls and other toys.

DS turned 1 last month and we hired a jumping castle and a friend lent us a slippery slide. It was ideal as we had 10 kids under the age of 3 and it kept them out of my house!
