Hi mums,
Does any of you wash your bub stuff in the dishwasher? Esp for bottles/teats (and then of course sterilise them afterward)
Many thanks for your inputs, pros and cons of course pls :D

ps. Thomas is almost 8 months old by the way
I put almost everything in the dishwasher ( it is a great way to clean bathtoys too!!)
I tend not to put teats and bottles in the machine because of the greasy film that breast milk leaves (don't know if formula is the same). And I don't sterilize anything. My lactation consultant said that the best way to "sterilize" is to use a cold water rinse, a hot soapy water wash, a hot water rinse and air dry completely. So that is what I do. But I only have one or two bottles a day to do because I am still breastfeeding. Many of my friends with formula just put everything in the dishwasher, and don't sterilize afterwards, and have no problems.

Since day one of Max being born all ive done with his bottles, teats now spoons, bowls etc is wash them in the dishwasher and then sterilise after. Couldnt imagine doing it via hand, soo much time.
We don't have a dishwasher - I am the dishwasher  :D
My friend does use a dishwasher for her bottles and she never bothers sterilising them either.

Thanks for the replies mums. I suppose now I have to find those bottle basket thingy that fit to dishwasher don't I?
Ill give it a go this week, but I'd sterilise them afterward tho

I only use the bottle basket thingy for the teats, lids and caps the actually bottles i just stand up over the spikes that hold the plates on the bottom rack. I found that putting the bottles in the basket thingy wasnt getting them clean.
Then after there washed i rinse them and then sterilise in milton bucket. I also found that if you dont rinse them in cold water before sterlising when you put them in milton they come out all chalky.
