My poor sick Harry

Hi everyone,

My poor little bubba is sick with gastro. I think, no know, he got it from day care. They had sign up saying that it was going around, so I know he got it from there.
It's been coming out of both ends and it's so hard to hold him while he's trying to be sick and not do anything but hold and kiss him. He has been laying down on his Seasem Street couch in the lounge room, with his blanket and soft toy puppy as comfort, sleeping or just laying there watching the tv all day.
He's already gone through 5 changes of clothes and me 2 changes.
He hasn't been able to keep anything down, apart from tiny sips of water which is all I can ask at this stage.

He is in bed asleep now and hopefully he will have a good nights sleep and wake really hungry in the morning.

Send lots of healthy vibes to my little Harry overnight.

There is nothing that breaks your heart more than seeing your baby in pain so my heart goes out to both of you. I hope it is one of the 24 hours ones and that he will wake full of beans again tomorrow.

Poor Harry. My 2yo dd has just recovered from this and miraculously no one else in the house got it. We were up at the hospital with dehydration and syringing some gastrolyte really did help her. It lasted about a week.

Poor little Harry... My heart goes out to him, thats a nasty little bug for all of us. :(

Awww, poor guy. And poor mum. Not much fun being thrown up on :( I hope he's feeling better in the morning. Do watch out for dehydration, it snuck up on me when Chloe was sick a while ago and we had to do like Easterlily at the hospital with syringe and gastrolyte.

Thanks everyone for your get well messages.

We had pretty bad night up at 9:30pm, 11:30pm 12:30am, 1:30am, 2:30am and finally 3:30am. He managed to keep down water I gave him at 2:30am and 3:30am and had some brekky and has managed to keep that down. But he's still very lerthagic and tired (as is mum!!!!!!). He's in bed now and I think he'll be on his couch watching videos for the rest of the day.

Harry sends a very weak smile and wave to his friends Eloise and Lara :)

Have you tried gastrolyte in the iceblock form. Much easier and more palatable for kids, plus they tend to keep in down.

Good to here little Harry is keeping things down today. My DS got sick with a gastro virus which lasted 5 days and unfortunatly he ended up in hospital with dehydration.
Hope he continues to improve and you both get some good sleep tonight.

Hi,
Definately be very aware of dehydration its very dangerous and comes on very quick in the little ones.

Water is not enough to give them as it doesn't have the electrolytes that they are loosing through the gastro.

Gastrolyte or an equivalent is really great so keep it in mind.
