I've been thinking about putting our Xmas Tree up soon but I am really really worried what my 9 month old will do to it!! My DS was 5 months and we never had any problems with him, but I guess he wasnt crawling yet I don't think.

Does anyone have any tips on saving our poor xmas trees from destruction? Apart from the obvious ones like:

* Don't put it up at all!!
* Put it on a table
* Put a play pen around it

We have very limited space and I really want my 4 year old to enjoy the tree as he always has! Should I just go the old fashion no, no, no, don't touch it! eekkk

Any suggestions??

 I have been thinking about this one too!Zane and Airlie are old enough now to know not to touch it but this year Avalon is already trying to destroy anything in sight! She was 1 last month and found the pressies I have already wrapped in my cupboard, pretty much had to wrap them again. When the others were smaller I used to put it up on a higher table that they couldn't reach and didn't have prob but I no longer have that table.I was thinking now that I don't use the porta cot very much I might sit it in this and put all the pressies underneath, that way she can't get her mits on them!

Ours is going on top of the table and the chairs are going in the garage, so as Master K maybe deferred from trying....

DS was 10 months old his first Christmas and we had no problem with the tree. We put it in the corner of the room and put the couch on one side and an armchair on the other IYKWIM.

He could only reach the tree if he climbed on the furniture and stood up. Since we were teaching him not to climb on the furniture anyway it was no big deal. It also meant he couldn't get to the presents underneath.
