I am 28 yrs old from michigan usa and just got circumcised last week as i had problems and was not able to pull my skin back and trust me sex was very painful it wasnt pleasurable anymore

Since I am circumcised now I had some concerns about the healing process , since the head of the penis is exposed now and is very sensitive and pains when it rubs against a surface which is while walking or even sleeping , i assume everybody who got circumcised in adult hood has gone through this pain which i hope is shortlived and i wanted advice from you guys that how long does this discomfort usually last is a month or even more
This is the only problem i am having rest everything looks fine

Would appreciate your response

Thanks

Not sure how long discomfort lasts in a adult. In a child my DS didnt seem to show any discomfort after the 24 hours. Hopefully for you it doesnt last too long. Maybe try searching forums for Adult circumcision?

I suspect that a phone call to your doctor should be able to reassure you about how long the discomfort will last.

As this is a parenting forum with mainly mums and few dads, not many of our members will have much experience with adult circumcision. I hope you can find some answers, and good luck with the healing.

Not sure about how long when you are an adult but my DS1 had to be done at the age of 4 years old and he had the discomfort of it when it rubbed for a week or two from memory.

I'd talk to your Dr, they should be able to tell you about how long it will last for. I hope I helped in some way.

I hope that the discomfort goes really soon for you.:fingerscrossed:

Sending lots of :hugs: your way.

Im not sure why you have chosen an Australian parenting forum to ask this sort of question, Im sure your gp or a site dedicated to this sort of thing woud be able to give you more answers.

don't know how long it will last, but i suggest walking around the house to 'air it out' as often as possible.

The head has to dry out a bit to become less sensitive like someone who was circumcized at birth. It is an irritating process but it will dry out and desensitize itself eventually.

sorry about the issues you had, hope that circumcision helps them for you. But this is one of the pains infants have to go through too when it happens. It will desensitize, just give it time.
