Hi,
Does anyone have any advice on babies with dislocated hips. When my baby girl was 5 months my MHNurse advised me to take my baby to get an xray of her hip as it was clicking on rottation. The xray showed that her hip was fine. When we went back for her next check up her hip was still clicking and it was loud enough that even I could hear it. My sisters 1 yr old girl had a dislocated hip and was in a harness from birth untill her first birthday, and it was a hard and distressful time for the whole family. My fear is that my daughter is just starting to crawl and pull herself up to stand on couches and in her cot and if she has to go into a brace she will become angry and frustrated and difficult ( this is how my sisters daughter became). Her appointment with the specialist is in a week and I am very worried about the results.
Has any one had to cope with a child in a brace and if so what did you do?
I was told that if she doesnt use a brace now she will be needing hip replacements as a teenager!
She is a very happy baby, (except for sleep time) and I dont want her to become angry and upset because of losing her mobility.
