Im planning on becoming a bigger tight ar$e in the next couple of weeks leading up to christmas and beyond. We dont get paid when hubby doesnt work, and they shut the site down for 2 weeks - so no pay AT ALL for that time.
Im planning on moving G into the cheapest nappies i can get without hurting him (if i had the money i prob would move him into cloth).
Does anyone use homebrand (any store) nappies?? are they any good?
Still tossing up whether to switch back to washers as wipes as we dont use alot - and i hate washing.
Any suggestions on CHEAP nappies??? Its only really for daytime, as we use Huggies at night, but a cheaper (but same qual - needs to last from 6-6) nighttime suggestion would be great too...
we use ALDI nappies MAMIA i think they are called and we use them for night too a pack of 50 for 15.95 i think i just love them....

50 for 15.95 hey??? hmmmmm How does that compare to like stock as stock HB prices - do you know??? and qual too.
We use snugglers through the day and have been happy with them. He isnt a big wetter or pooer for that matter... I just wanna be Cheap...
We only use the Woolies home brand (not select) and we buy a box of 64 extra large nappies for $20. They work just as well as any other brands we've tried.
Woolies Homebrand are great - they have never leaked! I only use disposibles when we are going out for the day so I only buy small packets of them and from memory it is $5.69 for 16 nappies (10-15kgs).

Thats for the extra large, you'd get a couple more fro toddler size right? what size is that in HB?
From memory (which isn't that great at the moment) I think it's around 72?? In the large size. size wise would probably be between 10 & 15 kg??
yeah large is 10-15 kilos I used to use them for DS before we went cloth:yes: they are quite good

Ill buy a small pack to trial run this week....
ohhh i love being cheap ;)
I have used home brand and found them cheap and nasty. You will use 3 to your huggies 1, not to mention the rash my kids get on their butt cheeks from the cheap plastic material that they use.
If you want ones for the day that are good value but still work ok, go for the woolworths select brand, or snugglers, or the aldi brand. Actually baby love are great ones for day time use as well.
The ww select brand are great I alternate between the babylove and select bu this week bought huggies as they were $29.99 for 90 in crawler size
33.3c each for huggies (sale)
38c each for select
32c each for ALDI
Bekky - being that I'm a tight-wad I went on a search for the cheapest nappy myself!
I was given a Woolies Home Brand to sample and Cobey lasted overnight :D (he generally wets through the old style huggies and those babylove ones)
They only cost $5.20 for a packet of 20
Then I tried Bilo Brand, because they have a "If you don't like Bilo Brand, bring it back no questions asked"... they're my nappy of choice now! :D $20 for an 80 pack (!!!!) how can you go past that, considering Huggies is $40 for a box of 90!
They're pretty too! and they last over night, no probs (unless Cobey wiggles when I try to put them on and then he leaks  but that's my fault)
I'm also a fan of the Aldi Mamia ones... but the Bilo ones are just cuter :p

I just got our first HB small pack...
Niki - You say they last over night.... Kickin!!! If so - Ill give him a wurl tomorrow night - and if so - buh bye huggies.... Im just a tight ar$e even when we do have money! Ill have a look at Bi-lo next time i go through - but bi-lo is all changing to coles - they said the only lines that are really staying are their bulk meat... Not sure on anything else...
Having said that - has anyone used Black and gold or savings??? I dont really want the 'you'll love coles' cause thats back up on the line of woolies select.
Shoulda seen my trolley today - it was all white and red from being ALL (bar 1 or 2 things) HB... heheheh i get such a high off saving money!
i didnt like the black and gold or savings ones at all

Well me hopes that they keep the bi-lo range of nappies then!!!
I'm planning on stocking up on the bilo ones LOL
Someone told me that coles ones are similar in design.. but I haven't tried them out yet
hi just wondering how you went? We are switching to cloth at the moment but we were using the home brand nappies for a few months and only bought the huggies ones when theye were on sale for $29 ish which they are at the moment. The home brand ones we bought from woolies felt thin and a bit icky to touch compared to the huggies ones which are so soft and lovely BUT Abby is a very wet baby and we had no problems with them at al and found no rashing or anything  good luck:thumbsup:

Oh Niki How i love you :hugs::yelclap:
I tried the HB over night, and they were fine. Full as in the morning, but no real leaks (his suit was a tad tight on his legs which forsed out a tiny leak, so my fault not nappies). No redness, no cystals, no real leaks....
buh bye huggies. Welcome Cheap homebrand!
Gosh i love being a tight wad!
and Gosh i love you niki for telling me they worked overnight, i dont think i would have tried otherwise - me being scepical and all....
