I have been using face washers as baby wipes but wouldn't mind something a bit prettier. What materials would be great to make baby wipes out of? And what solution could I use to make them smell pretty?
I got some poly/microfleece to use as liners, but they've been so good at wiping poo off dd2's bum that I'm going to get some more to actually use as wipes. You can get it from spotlight and there's heaps of different patterns, i've got a hello kitty pattern
Some ppl make up a diluted mix of chamomily tea to wet the wipes. It's soothing and really mild.
I use washers, as well as fleece lined which are great - very easy to use.

i cut up some old towels and made 2 layer wipes - one side flannelette and the other layer towelling. the towelling is GREAT for grabbing onto sticky poos.
you can also put a drop of lavender oil into a container of water ...... i've always just used a spray bottle of plain water.

I think using face washers are a good idea- over nappy wipes.
I remember my Midwife telling me that I wouldn't even need to bother with using nappy wipes. She said just use a soft wash cloth soaked in warm soapy water. (bed time bath solution-) She thinks the chemicals in nappy wipes actually cause nappy rash, I usually just use a wash cloth soaked in a small amount of bed time bath solution + warm water when i'm downstairs, but if i'm upstairs and it's 3am, it's just easy to use baby wipes. Well no nappy rash as of yet, so i guess the wash cloths do help! :D
