your baby is lactose intolerant. Try Lact-ezy drops. I used them with my second child and they fixed all of her problems immediatly.

My 4th baby is also lactose intolerant, but I haven't been able to find any Lact-ezy. The chemists don't stock it anymore. I can't understand why  they are so beneficial to mums who want to keep feeding their lactose intolerant babies. BUT I finally found out how to get my hands on some yesterday.

Wood Pharmacy at the Royal Childrens Hospital Melbourne stock them. If you call them you can ask for them to be posted to you. It's around $19 a bottle plus $4 postage.

Aiden is a month old, and the poor little guy has had tummy cramps and runny poo which burns his bum badly, :( I was told I would have to stop breastfeeding and put him on lactose free formula if the problem can't be fixed.
I know Lact -ezy works, so I am thanking my lucky stars I am getting some.
Next week he will be a much happier baby and still thrive on my booby juice :D

How fascinating! Have you had to alter your diet as well? Great to hear your wee one will be a happy booby baby very soon :D

Thanks Janet :)

I'm not sure altering my diet will remove the lactose from my milk, but I try to limit tea, coffee and chocolate...oh and spicey foods.

Also available from www.allergyfree.com.au

My eldest daughter developed lactose intolerance as an older child, and this was the only place I could find Lactase available at the time.

Thanks Jenny :) you're question isn't a silly one. It's ok to eat chocolate and drink coffee, just not large amounts. If you have a lactose intolerant child you may notice bubs has tummy upset the feed after you eat chocolate, but it won't have any long term effects.

Well, for me personally, I did not change my diet at all (cut down on alcohol obviously). I ate all the 'old wives tales' foods such as garlic, broccoli, spicy foods etc and had not a worry. I also drank coffee too and again no worries (I am not a big coffee drinker anyway). I also ate chocolate like it was going out of fashion and again, not problem.

Really, much of what you eat if fine. There is some concern about allergies however, and this is what you may have to be careful with if there is a history in your family. Especially things like nuts and other highly sensitive foods if there is a strong allergy history in your family. But otherwise, many of those alleged foods (like the garlic etc) are fine.
