Went to the Dr today and she said DD could possible have Fructose Intolerance, she has Lactose Intolerance. Meaning she cannot break down the sugars in fruit and milk etc.
Also cannot absorb them, so has yukky poos.
We are seeing a dietician mi December about it ( book out until then).
Has anyone had this etc.
My head hurts from all the googling ablut the above stuff:eek:
Now i have NO idea what to feed her...

In my experience what you can feed her = everything she won't eat (kinda funny, but not IRL!)...
It is hard. There are some websites dedicated to this sort of stuff. The best one I ever found was free but has recently gone subscription. I think its called Allergykids.com

Yeh, it is hard. Everything has some sort of sugar in it too. She will also see what others eat and want that.:(
I am in for a big night of research.
thanks
Hi there,
I have fructose malabsorption and am also lactose intolerant.
Fructose malabsorption means you cant properly digest fruit sugars, but unfortunately this also means no wheat, no onion, no apples, pears or yummy mangoes, but you can eat fruit that has more or even amounts of glucose such as oranges and bananas.
Im lucky though because I seem to be able to eat some of the above as long as I dont go overboard, it seems that its all about load for me.
I have got a recipe book from Sue Shepherd called Irresistables for the Irritable. Sue is a coeliac so she cant eat wheat, the same as us fructose intolerant people. She has come up with fantastic recipes including the best chocolate cake ever that even DH eats without knowing the difference. Sue Shepherd used to hold education sessions at Boxhill Hospital in Victoria so you could try that avenue.
Sue Shepherd can be found at www.coeliac.com.au (http://www.coeliac.com.au) and you can also buy her book there
Good Luck, I hope you get it all sorted.
