Just wondering if anyone in the Dandenong ranges area has been so far or is planning to go to the Birth Week event currently being held in Kallista?
I went this morning to the first half of a 2 part talk by Rhea Dempsey. Unfortunately I had to get DS home to rest in the afternoon and have missed part 2. I am really disappointed as it was soooo informative. Rhea Dempsey is such an amazing woman and I never knew just how much of a pioneer in natural birthing she is! The figures on what is happening as far as VB's and C-sec and peoples choices as to where to birth are staggering. Anyway, if anyone is planning to go to any of the sessions over the next few days, let me know and I hope to see you there!

I'm trying to get there Sal, we are having serious car issues at the moment. I really want to go!

Hi I went to nearly all the sessions - it was an amazing time, I met some beautiful people and I learned a lot. I think that whenever you have a group of women (and men who love them) sharing stories of their births there is soooo much you can learn. The talks by the home birth midwives were brilliant, too. The whole thing was totally inspiring. If they do it again next year, I'll be there. Bhava and her friends did a beautiful job.

Wasn't it fantastic Julie. Were you at the birth stories on Thursday night? I was there Thurs morn, Thurs night, Fri morning (watched my friend Rebecca have her bub in the video) and again on Sunday morning to which Stellaj_79 came too. It was so inspiring to be amongst a group of women who are so empowered by themselves and their experiences.
There may be a more regular get together to share birth stories and the like. I'll post back about it when I know more.
