Hi - I'm now 8days overdue and am booked in for an induction on Monday :(
I've tried everything to get labour going naturally and nothing has worked.
I am really down because I've been having pre-labour for 3 days now and still nothing has happened. It's so phsychological - you get 'phyched up' for it, and and contractions (which are strong, painful and between 9 - 11 mins apart) stop as soon as I fall asleep :( Although last nite they woke me up about every hour because they were so strong.

:(

Relatives and friends keep asking/ringing blah blah - they know I am booked in for an induction on Monday. I wish they didn't because I wanted to sneak into the hospital and have at least 1 day in there with just me and and my husband. Now they'll be banging down the doors to get in. :(

Hi chinster, im really sorry you have to wait. As i said in your other thread there's really not much you can do to bring on labour. Its all up to the baby to decide. With your family trying to get in and visit you straight after birth practically, you need to let them know how you feel. You need to discuss with them that you would like to have at least one day with just you, DH and bub. Im sure they'll understand as most of them have probably been there before.
It'll happen soon and if it is an induction then least you wont have to wait any longer to see your baby. If you need someone to talk to about inductions or anything you can PM or email me if you like. Ive been through an induction so i might be able to help you feel better.

I'm so sorry you are overdue. I was 3 weeks over with my first and it was the longest 3 weeks of my life. I bet once you have your waters broken it will happen on it's own. You're baby is comfy in there :) obviously your body is a safe place for your baby right now. You won't be pregnant forever, although I bet you feel like you will :(

I have my fingers crossed for you that it happens before Monday. If not, don't be hard on yourself, I know may women who are begging for indutions before they are even due  You've done really well. Pat yourself on the back, you're a terrific baby cooker...LOL

Have you tried nipple stimulation? It causes pretty painul contractions but it can get things happening more regualry. I think you are supposed to do it for 30 minutes and then stop for 30 and then do the other side the same.

Good luck!

Maybe the fact that your facing the induction will get the little tike moving out! Put it down to psychology..it worked for mine.....Hope you get there before Monday and you can sneak in without the search party.
Fingers crossed!

Hey Chinster - chin up (pun intended!)
Fingers crossed that something happens over the weekend and you get to fool your family for a day or two! As for them all rushing up on Monday - point out to them that even with induction the baby might not be born until very late Monday night so they are to wait for a phone call and not to ring you asking for news. (Not to say you will be in labour all that time - just that sometimes labour doesn't start for a few hours!)

Good luck - will be thinking of you. I was going to say "say hi" to your Dr for me, but it is probably not the best time to be thinking of such things!!

Hang in there Chinster. It's soooooo hard to wait isn't it, especially when you're so uncomfortable and dying to see its cute little face.

I'd highly recommend a day on your own after you have the bub - I didn't and I paid for it for weeks (literally).
