8 week old won't sleep during the day!

My 8 week old little boy won't sleep during the day...!!! He will have about two 30 mins cat naps throughout the day and will eventually go down around 6-7pm at night and sleep through to 2am and then goes straight down after that feed until the next feed at 6am so is getting 12-13 hrs sleep at night. Is he getting enough sleep at night to not have his daytime sleeps? I have tried everything to settle him to sleep during the day but only get 30mins if I'm lucky.

Please help??? Any advice would be great...

You poor thing,I know exactly what you are going through.It is really tiring and time consuming with a little one awake all the time.My dd didn't sleep much through the day either only having 30min naps.I bought a baby carrier pouch and that made a big difference.She slept alot better then and I was still able to get things done.
Do you wrap your little boy?This can sometimes make a difference.I wrapped (trying to stop now but that is another story ;) )my dd and she loved it.

My son was also like this. I was lucky for 30mins a day - but then he would sleep all night. I know I would have preferred him sleep at night than day.
My boy has grown out of it now. Suddenly he started sleeping about 2 - 3 hours throgh the day (he was 10 months) and now at 12 months I can usually get 2 - 2 hour sleeps out of him, and 12 hours at night. Must be all the energy hes using

Taiya is 12 1/2 weeks old and she stopped sleeping during the day at about 8 weeks.

She plays alot now during the day and might cat nap 30 mins here or there. I am just thankful that she sleeps at night. She also goes down between 7:00 and 10:00pm then wakes at about 2:00am - 3:00am then again at 6:00 - 7:00am. I never have problems getting her to sleep at night.

Have you tried taking him for a walk in the pram? I have noticed now that Taiya is demanding alot more of my attention and wants me to play with her more throughout the day. I always thought babies slept all the time until they were about 6 months old.......Oh how wrong I was.

Are you breastfeeding? I find sometimes when I can see she is a little tired if I put her on the breast for 5 mins she will go to sleep.....funny how all it takes is a bit of boob!

Oh you poor thing. Just hang in there. My DD did the same thing around that age. She is now 5 1/2 mths old and has three 1 - 1 1/2 hr naps throught the day for me now. When she was newborn she would sleep all the time, and then one day she just stopped doing that and started only sleeping for 30 mins max. She would always sleep through the night for me, but I do remember how frustrating and exhausting it was for me during the day. 30 mins just isn't enough time for anything really. We tried everything that was "recommended" to resettle her and help her "transition" but nothing seemed to work. Then "hey presto" one day she just started sleeping longer. I think that the catnapping was just a stage that she was going through and now she has grown out of it. I think that the catnapping would've lasted about 2 months.

Soon you'll be a pro at what you can accomplish in 30 mins. Then just when you've mastered it - your bub will change - AGAIN!
