OPKs?

This chick is confused.


I know you DONT use first morning wee for the OPKs, but is the second okay?

EG: Today I did my first wee at about 9, and Im ready for my next wee to do on the stick. I havent had anything to drink yet. Will that give me a false positive?

Yesterday I had a + OPK, yet my temps only dropped today.. as you can see on my chart down there..

Confused.. Any advice?

i thought you had to hold on so to speak for about 4 hours before testing and that the afternoon is best...but i've never had a positive test!
maybe tomorrow your temp will shoot up ?? i think OPKs can indicate ovulation two days away so could still be a positive and not a false one.

I know its confusing first cycle of using, i emptied my bladder and stopped drinking at 1pm, than POAS at 3pm. faint postive CD13 postive cd14,15.

Next cycle thought maybe i bd too late and was conviced i Oed cd 13.
Did same procedure faint postive cd13, but when i got home from work at12.30am on same day got a postive so we bd at 2.00am. Still had postive CD14,15. Ended up pg.
Also did bd CD14 but took the night off work at bd earlier. Thinking cause i work at night maybe my body clock is set to night as well, i usually get AF really late like 11.00pm as well.

I used them, and I think I used them either in the evening or at lunch time. I cant remember exactly though.

Do you check your CM too? I know its gross, but I could tell when I was gearing up for it, and then would just CHECK with the OPK.

:wave: Hi - the best time to test is supposed to be around 2pm. I don't think it matters as long as you do not use FMU and wait about 2 hours after going to the loo.

I usually get my + late in the arvo - I test twice a day leading up to o.

Well I waited abit before i did it and was faint 2nd line so thats a -

So thats


Tuesday - (very faint 2nd line)
Wednesday + (very dark 2nd line)
Thursday - (very faint 2nd line)

Now to me that means I O'd yesterday?

Although my temps are screwed?

ADDED: the wee i used was still very yellow so it must have been okay. i didnt drink at all till after id done it anyway *blushes*

I reckon you still might o today ... so make sure you get busy :laughing:

I usually get a + the day before and the day of - so I think everone is a bit different. But you usually get a positive around 24hrs before you o.

Also you had a temp drop this morning - which usually happens the day of o - I hope your temp goes up tomorrow for you.

I think the info I got with mine says between 10:00am and 8:00pm is the best time to test - but aim for the same time each day.

above site is really good for information about OPKs.

basically because you are measuring for LH rise which is metabolised into your urine and your metabolism slows down overnight...FMU is not recommended. Arvo and into night is recommended.

Note also:
1. miss the LH rise
2. LH rise is just a precursor to ovulation which can happen generally 24-36 hrs and with some women can be earlier or even later depending on when you detected.
3. a faint line means nothing. it MUST be as dark or darker than the control. some women have a faint line for days and at odd times. its the darker sample you want.

As others have said you are possibly O'ing today hence the drop in temp.
Don't think that because you got your +OPK yesterday that you were O'ing right there and then because 24-36hrs after LH surge is most likely when you are O'ing.
So get busy today girly!!!
I think your chart looks good, definately not screwed up at all infact it's doing exactly what it should be lol!!
You will more than likely see a rise in temp tomorrow :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed: then you can be pretty sure when you O'd!

Ive come to the conclusion today is most likely O. The + would have been showing I was about to O and the temp drop kinda half confirmed it..
