As a new parent to be (love this new status of mine lol) I'm interested to know which parks and children's activities (or local amenities) parents find the best for their children.
Maybe its a trip to the aquarium; or just running round in a child-friendly park somewhere? Meeting up with your mothers group (or fellow BubHubbers); or pushing your child on a swing at a local playground?
Once we get some feedback about where parents find to be the best local places to take their children, this information will be added to the BubHub online directory for future reference.
Thank you in advance for your assistance with this ladies! :)
well,
when i used to live in sydney, i loved the bicentennial park in homebush. it has everything on offer- playground- wetlands- biketracks- bbqs- a tiny lake- lots of grass area- AND heaps of FREE parking :)
There's a pool in Hyde Park (Cook and Phillip Aquatic Centre? I don't really know the name but it sounds about right  ).
It has a boring adult bit where people can do laps and a much more fun kiddy bit with water of all depths and a wave machine and stuff. I haven't been there in a while (last time I went was in early 2005) but I expect its still the same. My (at the time) 2 year old niece loved it.
And of course there's Taronga Zoo. Can't wait to take the munchkin there!

Someone else started a thread like this but i cant find it!!
My fave is Putney Park and also Parramatta Park
Lyne Park in Rose Bay is a fab kiddies enclosed playground, especially that coffee is available nearby now.
Parsley bay reservce is also pretty good - good playground area and nice shallow beach when weather allows.

Thanks ladies - keep them coming!
Darling Harbour is pretty good. Fishes at the Aquarium, and animals in Wildlife World, having a bit of a play in the playground or kicking a football around the grassy patch.
They also have paddle boats and things of that nature to entertain kiddies with and Harbourside Shopping centre for a bit of air conditioned retail therapy. And masses of food outlets if you can't be bothered to pack a picnic.
Especially good on "event" days like New Years Eve or Australia day when there's live entertainment and fireworks. Though it does get pretty packed at those times.
